Just Another Day [Spar | Private]

Ami rose from her bed, sleep not having fully left her eyes as she got up and did her usual morning routine. She had no actual real place to be, just another day of training. She felt like she'd had her fair share of excitement over the last few days, with a couple missions now under her belt, she was strangely satisfied. The Hyuuga made her way out of the compounds, her katana in her hand and her weapon pouch strapped to her left knee as usual. She was wearing the same black dress she often wore for convenience and comfort sake.

The girl made her way to the training grounds past the academy. She hadn't been here since that first day when she met Jayy and Karite. It seemed like ages ago now, as she entered the dojo, her eyes glancing around to see if there was anyone there. As she was early, the dojo was empty and she quickly set her things down. Ami didn't know what she was going to train today, only that she was going to train something. It was probably going to be Taijutsu, her specialty.

She stood there for awhile, deep in thought, recalling the last time she had trained alone. It was funny now, reflecting, since only until recently she had only trained alone. Now it felt somewhat strange to be by herself in the empty grounds. She would still be trying to figure things out when a voice would interrupt her thoughts, snapping her back to reality. It would be a familiar voice, one she had heard not too long ago and very glad to hear on this fine sunny day.

Ami was always on alert, so she was ready for the young Kaguya before he even made his entry. She had sensed a presence but was not sure who it was. As she heard him speak, she recognized him to be none other than her new teammate. "You vs me, Ami! Show me what a Hyuuga can do!"He would enter the grounds with a taijutsu technique, something that she had half expected from a person like him. She moved back, her body shifting to the left as she saw him aim a kick at her. Smiling a little her hand maneuvered around her weapon pouch and she pulled out a shuriken, throwing it at him.

"That's a great way of saying hello." she would say to him, cheerfully. She moved back, allowing distance to come between them. She had also wanted to see what the Kaguya could do and had been waiting for a chance. Her smile never leaving her face, she would draw her katana. Ami was not about to release her Byakugan, at least not yet. The young woman relied a lot on her kekkei gekkai and she wanted to see how long she could last without having to use it. Not long probably, she thought to herself.

"Well...show me what you got!"

Ami watched as her shuriken connected with his left arm, blood spewing from the wound. For a moment she felt guilty, forgetting that it was a spar. But she would quickly remind herself not to be get too emotional. The Hyuuga watched as a familiar Kaguya technique was played out before her. She had seen the technique twice now from a different Kaguya. So it was no surprise when she saw Shinigai take a bone out of his body. It was a bloody mess, with far less elegance than what Adam had shown her. But she would have no time to ponder on esthetics as a kunai was aimed at her feet.


She would try to jump out of the way, the kunai scraping her right foot as she did so. Concentrate! She chided herself as she watched her opponent's next movements. She saw him mold a sword from his leg bone. She sheathed her sword, a rare thing for any shinobi to do, especially since he was obviously going to come at her with his blade. She would have to activate her Byakugan early, she thought as he closed in the distance. "Byakugan" she murmured, her vision instantly changing at the activation of her kekkei gekkai.


Her surroundings changed, the colour turning to black and grey with the exception of his chakra points, which were a bright blue. She allowed the blade to connect to her left shoulder, a sacrifice she would take since the distance between them was so close that it was impossible for her to dodge. Blood poured out of her wound as she grabbed him by his hand, pushing her body upward so that the blade would disconnect. She fell backwards slightly, her feet moving backwards as her eyes shifted back to his face.

Ami winced as the pain from her shoulder stung. It took her a moment to get her footing back as she looked at Jayy, her eyes now seeing his chakra points clearly. But she had no time to think slowly about an attack as Jayy would launch another attack. His persistence was getting on her nerves. She brought her body to the gentle fist stance. Ami wasn't going to allow another attack to hit her. He wanted to see her kekkei gekkai, didn't he? Her arms and feet in the stance, she watched as he fired bullets of some kind from his fingers.


She spun around in a complete circle, both her arms open as she concentrated her chakra. Her chakra built in her arms, a dome of energy would be created around her while she spun, deflecting any incoming attack. She smiled a little, knowing that not many people knew of the fighting style exclusive to the Hyuuga clan. Although she was not a strong shinobi, she was definitely no pushover, as Jayy would soon find out.

Ami would smile a little as she saw Jayy make a clone which she hadn't seen sine graduating from the academy. The young woman gave him a little smirk as she realized he was going to do the same jutsu as he had done for his grand entry. What is wrong with him and his kicks. The young girl would allow him to send her backwards just a little bit, taking the hit from his taijutsu, as she tried to move out of the way. The kick did not come on her full force. Kuso...she had taken it because of her concentration diverting. The Hyuuga was sent backwards, crashing on the ground. Getting up slowly, she would perform her own handseals for one of the only suiton ninjutsu she knew.


The girl smirked a little as the mist covered the grounds, she still had her Byakugan active which meant that she could now see his chakra points. She would need to be careful of his clone though, keeping an eye on its movements as she ran towards the Kaguya. He needed to be taught a lesson, she wondered. The girl had her eyes locked on his chakra points and because he had wanted to kick her, she would aim the next Taijutsu at his right foot, sealing his chakra point so that he would not be able to use his signature move in the next turn. It would be interesting to see what he would do next.

Ami was more surprised than she should be perhaps at the sight of the his bullets. How she despised them...she thought annoyed as she tried to connect her jutsu. The young Hyuuga had no time to actually think though as she saw the bullets come at her. There were ten bullets, ones aiming for her already injured shoulder and one's aiming for her forehead. She would have to take one of those hits, thinking to herself which ones. She twisted her body, flipping like a sideways roll in the air, so that the bullets meant for her shoulder could be dodged but the one aimed at her forehead would not. She winced as it hit her, sending her body backward, catching her in a daze as she crashed to the ground. It would take her a moment to recover as she rubbed her forehead, an indent forming.

Thank goodness for the mist...she thought to herself as she saw the other bullets he fired right after had traveled to another direction. She was beginning to lose her Byakugan, that much she could tell. Which meant that she would have to try and stop him. She thought for a moment before getting up again. At least she still had her shoulder. Her hand felt for her weapon pouch as she drew three senbon. She would run forward, first throwing the senbon at him from behind. Then she would pivot to her left, and just as she would jump up, the young girl would unsheathe her sword and attempt to slash him in the back.

The Hyuuga could see Jayy's bones sticking out from various parts of his body as she came towards him with a slash to his back. Crap...she was totally unprepared, as she let her blade slide and lock itself in one of the bones. She grabbed her blade, attempting to twist it out but failing, she would be pushed backward, her hand freeing from her weapon. She slid to the ground, a smile escaping her lips. The pain in her body often made her giggle for no reason. She could see that the mist she had created was beginning to fade. Although she didn't want to admit it, he was a very good shinobi and an even better opponent.

She stood up weakly, looking at Jayy with renewed appreciation. She had underestimated his ability and was proven wrong in the process. "You win Jayy...good job. But don't treat this as a true victory. I'll come back stronger..." she let her sentence trail off for she knew that she still had a couple jutsu up her sleeve that she hadn't used in this spar. She would wait, wait to show him what she was truly capable of. For now, she was happy to give him the small taste of victory he deserved.
