SG Systems | Missions and Squads

Here on SG there are plenty of missions you can partake in to earn different things, such as Ryo, Exp, and other types of rewards. Missions are the core of activity in the world, as all shinobi are required to participate in them at some point in their life. They are a good way to earn extra items while having something to do at the same time. Our mission system is going to work a little differently than it has before, as we have added multiple ways to do a mission and different kinds of missions you can actually do. Below will be a guide that explains all the different kinds of missions you can participate in, and the rules that follow each mission.

    Missions
    -Solo Missions:
A solo mission is a single mission that one person can participate in. These are normally quick missions with a simple objective, and normally only require one person to perform. They can vary from thing to thing, depending on the rank of the mission. They can be things like obtaining a lost item, searching for something, spying on someone, or anything in between. Solo missions are some of the easiest to complete, but also reward the lowest amount most times. Solo missions are just that, solo, and can only be completed by one person. They can normally be done in a single post, and do not require much else outside of that. You are only allowed to do a solo mission if it is equal or lower in rank than yourself.

-You can have a solo mission active at the same time as another mission.
-You can only do two solo missions within a week of real-time.

    Spoiler:

    -Group Missions:
A Group mission is one that requires more than one person to complete, with a max of four. You can not participate in a group mission alone and must have at least one other character with you on the mission. Also, a group mission can not have more than four people working on it together. A group mission is normally more complex and a little harder than a solo one and requires more teamwork to pull off. This can be anything from an ambush to an escort mission. Some will even end up being fights over land or an item. Characters of different ranks can work together on the same group mission, and ninja that are a lower rank can participate in group missions that are one rank higher, as long as at least one person in the group is of that rank. For example, 3 C-Rank can do a B-Rank mission as long as there is a B-Rank on the team. However, if that fourth person is A-Rank or higher, the 3 C-Rank can still only go on a B-Rank mission.

-You can have a group mission active at the same time as another mission.
-You can only do three group missions within a week of real-time. (the topic must be started, does not need to be finished)

    Spoiler:

    -Plot Missions:
Plot missions are unique as they only really occur when an event, plot line or piece of the story is taking place. These will often be handled by staff and involve a large group of people spread out over the course of several topics. Your character can take place in a plot mission regardless of its rank or if you have other missions going on. Plot missions can also contain any of your characters and are allowed to belong in the same topic with each other. Plot missions do not count towards your other mission slots. You can complete one solo, and one group plot mission per week, but can do the same mission over and over again if you wish.

    Spoiler:

    Clash Missions
Clash missions are a mission where you are pitted against another person, most of the time in a combat scenario. These missions normally have an objective or goal that all participants are trying to complete, with them pitted against each other for that goal. A clash mission is completed when one of the participants succeeds in their goal, with the other failing.

    -NPC Clash:
NPC clash missions are missions where a member's character is pitted against an NPC, normally controlled by a member of staff. These are rare missions and are normally only used to push plot or branch a storyline. While they follow most scenarios and rules of a normal clash, the obvious difference is who it is against.

    Spoiler:

    -Solo Clash:
A solo clash is when one character is pitted against one other character. This is always a 1v1 scenario with only two participants, and they are forced to work against each other. A solo clash ends when one of the two characters succeeds in their goal.

-You can have a solo clash mission active at the same time as another mission.
-You can do as many solo clash missions as you like with no time limit on them.
-You can only have one active solo clash at a time.

    Spoiler:

    -Group Clash:
A group clash is much like a solo clash, but instead of it being a 1v1 scenario, it is a group of members v another group. The group sizes must be the same, and can not exceed 4 members. If one group has 3 members, the other must have 3 members. Much like a solo clash, the clash is finished when one group has completed the goal over the other group.

-You can have a group clash mission active at the same time as another mission.
-You can do as many group clash missions as you like with no time limit on them.
-You can only have one active group clash at a time.

    Spoiler:

    Quest:
Quests are a unique type of mission that is normally reserved for high-level shinobi. Unlike missions and clash missions, there is no strict guide to what a quest can contain, as each scenario will be unique. Quests are missions that end an individual or a group of people to hunt down a person, an object, or a place. The things that get hunted are usually unique items or relics lost to time. Quests can reward individuals who are successful with Ryo, exp, and oftentimes rare and unique legendary items. While the rewards are great, Quests can be very dangerous, with death a very common outcome for those who are not prepared.

-You can only be in one Quest at a time.
-Can not start any new missions of any kind while in a Quest.

    Spoiler:

    Squads and Teams
In the naruto universe and on most RP sites it is customary for shinobi to be placed into squads, or made into pre-built teams by staff or a village leader. However here on SG we will be handling the way squads work a little differently. We will not be pre-building any teams or assigning members to a squad, and in fact, it is not required to be on a team at all. Due to a variety of reasons, most having to deal with activity, we believe that the old way of assigning squads is flawed and that most of the time a team's failure is due to it just not being active.

Because of this, teams will look differently. No one will be required to be on a team or work with a set group of people. In fact, as you participate in things that require groups, you will be permitted to build a temporary team from active and available members. Once the mission or activity is complete, that team can be disbanded and everyone can go their own way. This system allows people to participate in activities that require groups, without getting sort changed because a member of their team is inactive.

Now, we will still allow pre-built teams if everyone involved wishes to put a squad together. So if three friends, or three people who are all active wish to form a squad with each other, that is perfectly fine. However, it will not be handled by staff or village leaders. If a squad is formed, it is up to those involved to ensure it stays together.

We hope that this new way of dealing with squads provides a flexible and fun way to work with others without the hassle of waiting on people who may never show back up. This system is designed to give you members to do missions and other activities while allowing you to meet new characters and build bonds that normally would be forced on you via the old way of doing things.

    Completing Higher ranked missions
Ninja will be allowed to participate in missions that are higher rank than their ninja rank, however this does come with guidelines to keep things balance and from getting out of hand.

    - You can only participate in a mission 1 rank higher than that of your ninja rank. So a C-rank can do B-Ranks missions, so on and so forth.

    - You can not participate in any solo missions that are a higher rank than your own, and can only participate in group missions of a higher rank if a at least one of the other participants is that rank.

    - You can only do 1 mission that is a higher rank per week, and this will still consume one of your group mission slots.
