"Is it night already?" Sojiro would grumble to himself as he stepped out of his apothecary and would pull the door shut behind him, sliding the key into the lock and making sure it was secure with a soft tug. The man had been busy helping various patients throughout the day, the clinic aspect of the shop being more popular than he was originally expecting. It had been less than a week since the Inukura Apothecary had opened up, business flowing in steady enough that it felt like that had been here much longer. Regardless, Sojiro was actually dressed in a much different attire than usual.
While he still didn't wear shoes, his feet were actually wrapped in bandages to maintain some level of cleanliness while working and allow him full movement still. He wore a pair of black dress pants and a white dress shirt to match, a black-tie overtop his shirt. Over the whole outfit was a doctor's jacket, hanging down to his calves. The man didn't look much like a shinobi currently, most of the defining features hidden, but that didn't really matter to him much. Sojiro liked his new job, "What should I get for dinner tonight?" He would question to himself, thinking about how Mrs. Nash's place was definitely closed at this hour. As he walked down the street, he entertained the idea of getting some ramen but that had been dinner last night. Sojiro let out a soft breath, perhaps, he could go hit the BBQ place on the other side of town up then crash at the hotel.
It wasn't that he didn't have a home but he was getting older and while he respected his adopted father, the truth was they were two grown men living together, "I need to get my own place..." He would mutter, noticing he was starting to talk to himself a bit more than he liked and shaking his head. As he walked down the street, he stopped and turned to move towards an alleyway, which would help him get to the BBQ faster than he intended. As he came around the corner, he caught the scent and sight of a female on the ground and let out a soft breath, "Another druggie?" He questioned, this person wasn't a drunk, he would've been able to smell it on her. The man would shift closer to the female and let his brows press together a bit, "What the..."
It was clear that this girl was young and weak, he could tell simply from her breathing. Without much hesitation, Sojiro would move down onto a knee next to the girl and begin to check her vitals, "Are you alright? Hey, can you hear me at all?" He asked in a calm tone of voice, his touch being the gentle prodding of a medical professional. It didn't matter though, it was clear that the girl was unconscious and lacking nutrients. With a casual jog, to make sure not to jostle the girl too much, they were back at his clinic within minutes. Finding his keys and opening the door was easy enough, moving through the waiting room and into the back area, into one of the patient rooms. It was a simple check-up room, where he'd lay the girl on a reclining chair and would let out a breath. He would move throughout the building to get an IV for the girl, sticking it into her arm so that she would start to get rehydrated. From his office, he got a few bags of jerky, for when she woke up.
"You know, I was supposed to be off for the rest of the night." He would say to the unconscious girl, though it wasn't like he was complaining. As he would turn around after placing the food down, pulling a chair over next to where the girl was sleeping, he'd finally get a chance to look at her in the light. And he blinked. Then he blinked again. Sojiro would lean over the girl and stare at her pale face, his brows furrowed closely together. While she was out, he would raise a hand towards her eyes and rub at the markings there, "You don't get much... Sleep... Do..." And his words trailed off, he sounded like someone talking to... Well, him, when they remarked on his clan's markings. Sojiro blinked again and, feeling a bit of shock settle over him, would take a seat in the chair next to the girl. Rubbing his chin, he would go silent and wait for the girl to wake up.
