The Aftermath [Spar]

Tattered, beaten and having lost a finger, Ami made her way out of the tomb. She had found an exit, or at least something of that sort which allowed to return to where she started. She wondered if Karite had made it to the blade, feeling slightly depressed that she herself hadn't. But she was never really focused on the blade in the first place, having happened upon the tomb by chance and luckily was able to get out alive. Her dress torn and her body fatigued beyond any level she had ever experienced in her life, the young Hyuuga would not make it very far before she collapsed, her body muscles refusing to move in the slightest. Although she had not used any of her chakra, her body had taken great damage, and she knew she needed to recuperate. And so she welcomed the darkness, and within seconds would fall asleep.

She didn't know how long had passed when she next opened her eyes. But it was the dark of night, with only the moon above shining on her to give her some light. She would sit up, remembering only faintly how she had got here and what she had done. Ami looked around her, her eyes glancing at the very barren area. She most likely passed out for three to five hours at most, but the scenery around her changed. The light from the sun was replaced with darkness and it sent an eerie feeling down her spine. The girl wanted to get away as fast as she could, return to the moon village and her house. How she missed her compounds... She struggled to get on her feet, using the sword as her leverage and began to walk, limping slightly, in some direction she didn't know. She had forgotten the route she took when she came here with Karite.

This was going to be a very long night...

Ami would hear him before she saw him, recognizing the familiar voice calling her name. She would smile, turning around to greet Jayy. The girl hadn't expected to see him, and judging from the way he looked, it seemed he too had escaped near death. So Jayy participated too, she thought to herself, wondering if he got just as beaten up as she did. But the young Hyuuga was taken aback as she saw him then, his demeanor so different. The usual Jayy seemed to all have disappeared, even his voice changed as he called her name again and again. The tone was so chilling...exactly what was happening?? Ami would soon find out.

As she studied her teammate, she noticed the difference from his usual self right away. His tone was even menacing now, definitely not what she was used to. Although she struggled to understand, the Hyuuga would have no such luxury as to stand there and ponder as she saw him run towards her, picking up his face. And that look...it was definitely not to give her a hug. Ami stood where she was, her expression grave as she realized what was coming ahead. She could tell he wanted to fight, especially as he effortlessly pulled out a bone. By now she had seen the Kaguya technique many times and was no longer amazed at the ability. She would unsheathe her own blade, waiting.

"Jayy, what are you doing?!" She didn't want to fight her friend, not now especially. She wondered what had gotten into him. But she knew that even if she refused to fight, she would have no option but to do so. Heaving a sigh, she closed her eyes for a moment, taking a deep breath before opening them again. This time her expression was one of a fighter, solemn and serious. The usual happy-go-lucky girl all but disappeared. If he wanted a fight, a fight was what he'll get from her, as she respected him not just as her friend and teammate, but also as a fighter.

And a familiar attack would call for a familiar response. Only Ami would be amazed at how strong his attack had actually become. She remembered his technique well, when they had sparred the last time. But she would have no time to think, for he was charging at her, closing in on their distance even more. The girl would quickly sheathe her blade, chakra forming in the palm of her hands, positioning her body in the gentle fist stance. She would give him a counter that he should remember as well. Seeing as he was in range of her rotation, this should make him knock him back, temporarily creating distance between herself and Jayy,

But that was not all she intended to do. While her chakra was creating the dome used to deflect Jayy's oncoming attack, she would think fast of her next move. He was obviously not in his right state of mind, and she would need to treat him as any other opponent, not as her friend. The girl would step backwards, assuming that Jayy had now been knocked back, the girl would form quick handseals. It would allow a mist to form in the area, temporarily blinding both of their vision.

As the mist began to form, she would activate her Byakugan so that she could see at least Jayy's chakra points. She didn't really need to see anything else, as she was entirely focused on trying to stop him from attacking her. The Hyuuga would see his chakra points, and they were moving fast. The young girl would see him coming in for an attack, presumably from above judging from the movements. But in doing so she would fail to see the bone that was aiming at her leg until it was a little too late, his sharp bone connecting to the lower part of her left leg. Shit...she cursed under her breath, wincing as she felt the pain coarse through her body. She had no time to evaluate the injury though, as she felt Jayy coming down on her with what seemed to be a kick...



Such a familiar jutsu she almost smiled, spinning slightly to get out of the way, as he came down aiming for her head. She could sense the strong intent to kill, which she actually entertained at this point. The young girl would put her hand inside her weapon pouch, grabbing three of her shuriken and aimed them at his left shoulder from diagonally behind. It was simply to deter him until she could find a way to end this fight once and for all.

She didn't even have time to judge whether her shuriken had connected to his shoulder before she could feel him move again, his chakra points quite visible because of the distance between them. The girl gave a small smile as she readied herself for whatever attack he was going to go for, which she would find out would be a direct attack to her upper body. Ami unsheathed her sword, ready to block his attack should it come. She could see fierceness in his eyes and the blood on his arm. She almost felt guilty for injuring her friend.

The girl stepped backward, feeling the onset of his attack as he game with his sword. She was temporarily blinded the blood on his arm, but was still able to raise her sword to counter. The two blades would clash at this point, her in a relatively awkward position as she would try to block his attack with her right hand holding the sword horizontally. It would also require her to kneel on one knee, to take the pressure of Jay's body against his blade if the swords connected.

If he thought that that was going to be the end of their fight, he'd have to think again. As their swords entered into a deadlock and Ami seemed to be in a weaker position, she would think quickly. The girl would push her weight against his, her kneeling knee raised slightly so that she could hold the ground with more footing. As she saw him coming at her with a punch, her free hand would retaliate. It was most likely a jutsu he had seen before, but if it delayed his attack even for a second, she could think of what to do. Her chakra pushed out from her index and middle finger, aimed at the chakra point near his elbow, dodging by a fraction of a second by moving her head slightly.

But there would still be the kick, which she also could see being in such close distance. If the chakra halt to his arm worked and he didn't punch her jaw, she would use the second of distraction to raise her body, so that his kick would land on her stomach area. It would still be painful, but at least she wouldn't be knocked out cold. The girl would fly back from the kick, the force bringing the didtanve between them to be further apart. By now the mist would have evaporated completely allowing Jayy his vision back.

She was almost annoyed at how he chose his next moves, noticing he enjoyed using the same techniques. As he flew through the air, the girl would jump backwards. She wanted to get him close, especially because she could feel her Byakugan losing its focus. She needed to get the chakra points once and for all. So, she would notice that he was again aiming for her head, now that the mist had cleared, with what looked like a claw of some sort. She waited until he drew near, closing in on the distance as he came with a kick, perhaps now his signature move. She would jump out of the way, hoping to avoid the attack. Now they were very close, close enough for her to deliver hopefully her last attack.

If this jutsu were to connect to any one of Jay's chakra points, all sixteen points would connect, and although not very much damage would be felt, it would limit his movement, allowing her a chance to attack him in the next turn. If it didn't, she wouldn't know what to do. She could tell that her energy was draining fast, and only prayed that Jayy was nearing his limit too.

She watched as the first strike would hit him, well to be accurate, two strikes, and would know that all sixteen would connect. But as she struck his chakra points, she began to notice that bones were growing from his body. Since she was in mid-attack, there was no avoiding as some of the bones would pierce through her arms. Wincing, she panted a little as she came out of her attack, blood trickling down both arms. Ami would have to end this fight soon, judging from the amount of chakra she had left. After a moment, she would try to jump backwards, distancing herself three meters away from him, not only to avoid his punch but also to extend the distance between them.

As the handseals were made, a familiar mist would fall on the grounds once again. She would then quickly activate her Byakugan once more so that she could see Jayy's chakra points behind the mist. Her right hand would touch the hilt of her sword, readying herself in case he was trying to come at her with another attack.

Ami could see him go the wrong direction from just his chakra point movements. But she was sure that there would be something more to it than just losing his sense of direction, especially after he screamed her name. He was definitely not going to give up easily. She didn't see the bones pellets that were coming at her stomach. The three pellets would come at her in quite the speed and she would only be able to deflect two of the pellets with the raise of her sword. One of the pellets would pierce her stomach, another attack to the area. She dropped to her knees, half shocked by the attack and half feeling her energy drain.

Blood spilled on the ground. She had only a little chakra left she knew and judging from the distance, she couldn't go for any of her clan jutsus. Ami thought for a moment, remembering what water jutsus she had in her repertoire that she could use...which wasn't many. She got up a little weakly, half limping until she closed in the distance by five meters from where Jayy's chakra points were. The girl formed a string of handseals and would form a whip of water to try and bind him, praying for the best.

Ami would feel her water whip connect with something, most likely a part of his body. She heard him talk to her, taunting her. She wasn't going to give up that easily, not only because she was a Hyuugan but also because of her pride. The girl would yank on the water whip, hoping to close the distance. At around six meters, she stopped pulling on the whip, her free hand going to her weapon pouch. She needed something that could be thrown in the distance, as she secretly feared getting close to him. She threw two shuriken at what she would guess would be his right shoulder.

"I never wanted to fight you..." she whispered softly. Ami would have never attacked Jayy had he not attacked her first. And a fight was a fight...she just couldn't give up.

By now the mist had cleared, giving away the advantage that Ami had been wanting to have. She was being pulled on her own water whip, something that she had expected judging by the pure strength difference between Jayy and her. As she was puled, she could see him dig into his weapon pouch. Eyes widening a little, she would unsheathe her sword again, to try and block the incoming kunai. The girl wouldn't allow another attack at her stomach. She would aim a direct slash at his stomach, a desperate measure she supposed.

As the slash connected, she would sense Jayy grab her wrist. Knowing him well, she knew that he would be aiming a physical attack. The girl took a second to activate her Byakugan, and watched as his elbow would try to slam into her face. He was really trying to knock her out, she thought. The girl dropped her weapon, trying to build up her chakra. She moved her face slightly, tilting her head backward and using her free left hand, she would attempt most likely her last jutsu. But because they were so close, she was certain that it would work, assuming he did not retract his own elbow attack. Ami began to sway slightly from the lost of energy.

If this jutsu didn't work, she would be finished. But at least she had given it her best shot.

Ami thought quickly of what to do, as she saw him pulling her close to him, perhaps trying to jump on her. She would do a series of five kicks, starting with a hook kick, maneuvering her body so that she could be free of his grasp and also his incoming blade. She needed to stop him from pressing his body on her knowing that it would finish her if he did. The girl gave him a small smile, as her kicks would be aimed to separate the distance between them. She needed her wrist back.

She would land on the ground after her attack, her hand flying to her own sword, picking it up once again. While Jayy would be in the air from her kicks she would run to his left and slash him at his shoulder.
