A Beast-Like Training Session [Group Spar]

Kannagi felt the anger inside of her just bubbling against the surface of her skin. She walked with a powerful determination in her movements, a unique and intense purpose in every muscle as she made it to the field beside the road. What had been the real meaning of this? Placing her in a group to take on Sojiro, her friend and employer? Did they not think she could handle him alone? Why did the village doubt her abilities again and again when she showed that her strength and smarts were both great benefits to Nikkousato. She wore her tight white top, a crossed strap over her chest allowed her to carry her medical bag and shinobi equipment upon her back while holding down the flak jacket she wore also. Her legs were not hidden by the usual skirt she wore; instead she wore tight gray athletic pants that stopped just below her knees. Recent fights had caused her legs to nearly become crippled for life, but a close enough healer had ensured that only scars might be left behind.

Her shins were so scarred that the white lines of scarring suggested that her legs had been taken apart like a puzzle and reattached like an expert seamstress. The crisscrossing zags of scars didn't make her feel any less confident or beautiful, but it would be the first time anyone besides herself had seen them. Kannagi hadn't discussed that off-the-books mission in Moon with anyone. She stopped her stalking and stood next to Sojiro with a low growl, "This is insulting. I could do this training with you on my own. To put me on a team... ridiculous." Her soft arguments weren't meant to change the situation, only breach her emotions by talking to her friend about them. If her anger was out of control today, it wouldn't take much for someone to set her off, and when she got to that level... Kannagi didn't always remember her actions.

When Arashi found out who their "Instructor" would be, he got a bit pissed. He was fully aware of how his recent spar with Sojiro had gone, but he didn't think he did as bad as to warrant two more people on his side. Still, he showed up, this time even more ready than the last, He had his custom katana which he managed to repair on his left hip, a windmill shuriken on his back and a pouch with 5 explosion notes on his right hip.

"Hey there Sojiro." Arashi said while arriving at the place. the other familiar face he saw was Shizuka or Imino-San as she said he should call her "H-hello Imino-San" The last member of the group was a blue-haired woman, who seemed pretty mad at the whole situation, Arashi was also pissed although not as much as she seemed to be. "Hi there. I'm Arashi nice to meet you!" He did a little nod as a way of introducing himself to the new person "So is it us against you? That seems hardly fair... Should we take turns?" He snickered "or go all at once?" he said while punching his hand twice and wickedly smiling. "Whatever it is, I know I won't be going easy on you!"

It was thanks to the final ally that had appeared that Kannagi caught the names of both of the shinobi working with her today. Imino-san was the other female who hadn't said a word, and Arashi was the man greener than green. Either he hadn't seen much of the world, was new to the world of shinobi as a genin, or perhaps he was one of those rare silver linings people. Sojiro had said her name while teasing her but she still felt compelled to give her name to the others herself, as was proper. "Kannagi of Nikkousato," She said to the others with a quarter-bow in her back. As Sojiro explained the point of this spar, she slowly nodded her head once, tossing her blue hair curling behind her ears.

This was an exercise in teamwork, especially that of a spontaneous nature. It was harder to develop teams and effective combat within one when there were none designated. Still, it was necessary for the village and the kage to see that Kannagi was willing to put her best foot forward in even this. Sojiro knew some of her techniques, but not all. "So the point is to get the bells. We work together then," She said to the other two in a teacher like tone of voice. She might have been nineteen but she had a lot of practice giving orders on her route to perfection. There wasn't a point in aiming for less than that. Kannagi made her hand seals and allowed paper to flow from her forearms in a continuous swirl that drew together and chased after Sojiro. It aimed for either leg or arm, a jutsu that targeted his limbs. She held the final hand seal and pursed her lips. It would be easy to take the bells if she simply stopped his movement.

When Sojiro Finished his "speech" Arashi, had to resist groaning, the exercise was simple enough a classic in shinobi history, still, was he really that confident that he could keep three shinobi from grabbing some bells on his hip, after all, he was also a genin so it's not like he was that much above them. Anyways if they wanted to prove him wrong they would have to give their all, after all, the faster they took the bells, the faster they could get him off his high horse. "Alright, Let's do this then"

So when Sojiro got in his defensive stance Arashi circled around, as he saw Shizuka leaving to sit on a bench, he got a bit confused but decided to not pay it any mind, he moved so that he would stand 2 meters behind Sojiro leaving him between Kannagi and Himself. Arashi got his Lightning chakra ready and layered his body in it preparing his Lightning Dash technique, He would try to keep Sojiro between him and his teammates using his technique if necessary.

If Sojiro got close enough to Arashi or trapped by Kannagi's jutsu, he would try and take the bells, Hoping that by using his Lightning Dash technique he would be fast enough to do so.

Arashi's attention to combat tactics immediately caught Kannagi's attention. What started as a frustrating personal assessment had started to change. If the higher ups wanted to see what she could do, she was happy to show them. Kannagi was mostly a long range fighter and to see Arashi get in front of her made her smile. So he was getting himself close then, and depending on her to keep Sojiro busy enough that he could get in close to those bells. It was very smart and she approved of his tacit technique, "I've got you back then, Arashi," Kannagi said to him from behind. She wanted him to know that she didn't mean following his lead in this spar instead of taking the lead. Kannagi in fact, preferred it. She was waiting for an attack, a defense, or something to happen from the woman who had shown up with eagerness in her eyes. It never came.

Flummoxed, Kannagi took a second to glance and spied Imino perching herself, almost bored, upon a bench. The kunoichi had never seen something so obscure, so ridiculous, so blatantly a disregard for the orders and rules of this exercise! Who was this Imino to be able to ignore Sojiro and rest herself. Was she so confident in her abilities that she thought she didn't need this? Was she so poor at her jutsu or skills perhaps that she feigned disinterest in order to hide potential humiliation? Maybe even this girl waited for Kannagi or Arashi to succeed so that she could steal it from one of them. Kannagi swallowed down her questions and redirected her attention to where it was needed. Kannagi had given her word to Arashi just moment before after all. It was wise of her to do so considering dense colorful smoke suddenly filled the area, blocking her ability to direct her jutsu. She had no choice but to drop the jutsu or else risk catching Arashi instead, not to mention, she could disperse this smoke but only if she changed her hand seals to do so. Her Kami Coffin technique would end regardless.

"Don't stop," She told Arashi, and wrapped her arms up in blue wind chakra. She normally used this move as a sharp blade, but discovered its usefulness as a blunt wind strike as well. She struck diagonally and upwards in a 'V' shape around where she had seen Arashi last standing. The wind would move upwards and dispel the smoke away from either side of him, creating a large open gap for the rest of the smoke to settle into. She knew the height of her opponent and partner and used her third wind strike to slice upwards and across, skimming it over their heads and lifting any lingering smoke from above. If by any chance Arashi or Sojiro were hit by the wind strikes she had tried to use precisely around them, it would knock them off balance, cause bruising, or toss them to the side. As blunt attacks, they would not work as her usual blades and remove limbs. Kannagi knew also that Sojiro could track by smell so getting rid of this smoke removed his advantage.

Kannagi called to the sitting woman over her shoulder in a cold voice, "Don't be a useless child. Assist and complete your task! You are not too good for it and if you think I will allow you to sit over there and watch, you are mistaken!" The woman looked lazy or haughty and she didn't understand her choices. Kannagi threatened her  out of annoyance, but it was more than that. It was this sort of behavior that made countless shinobi question Kannagi's own resolve as a kunoichi. This was the sort of behavior that showed to Kannagi that by Irezumi standards, Imino was a threat to the community if she could not do so simple a task. Children like that got punished back home. Survival in and out of combat was based on community. Just who was this woman!?

As the smoke settled Arashi stood still trying to use his hearing to know where Sojiro was, He could barely make out how his opponent had moved away from him, but before he could do anything else, a gust of wind lifted the smoke, allowing him to see Sojiro who was only 3 meters away. Arashi started to move towards him, running the first meter and then using his dash to instantly reach his opponent. In the way he would concentrate his lightning chakra on his left hand, preparing his Electric Touch jutsu, when he got close enough to Sojiro, he would sidestep a little, grab Sojiro's left arm with his own and lift it while electrocuting it, using this as a distraction to grab the bells with his right hand, then using the rest of his dashes and movement to get to Kannagi. If Arashi's attempt to grab the bells failed he would try and stay close to Sojiro instead of returning.
