Zombie Mushrooms|Group

The Kaguya would reach the zone in which their mission was meant to take place. Once more Yatari would recap her objective within her head, she didn't really know why she did this since it was pretty simple, just kill some bugs and smash some mushrooms, doesn't seem to be too hard right?




The Kaguya had a single puppet beside her, one made of bone, but with it was five others of the same type in the form of a scroll. Of course this made her travels easier but she did need to see about getting a summoning scroll instead so that she didn't have to lug around any of these things. Of course she could make another puppet that was specifically made for carrying around the others but now was not the time, and besides not like she has any blueprints drawn up and those can usually take a couple weeks to work on. A single mistake in making one of these could lead to disasterous results. Yatari reached over, softly petting the puppet beside her's hair of bones. To most it was a strange sight to see, petting something that was ejected from your own body, its like rubbing the head of a dead child while being totally calm.

Kokoro still found it slightly amusing as she watched her partner lug around a giant puppet. They had chosen not to speak to each other, which for the most part, Kokoro was fine with. She would revert to her naturally cold ways, weary that she was forced to go on a mission with someone like Yatari. The girl still kept her distance, the hostility between the two young girls evident to any stranger. The duo would find themselves at their destination, the Cindervine Jungle. She remembered having been here before the last time, when she was forced to face her worst nightmare, a bunch of crawling insects that were infected by some unknown fungus. She would shudder as she recalled the mission details, praying that she would not have to destroy more insects this time around.

By now they would walk deeper into the jungle, the warm musty air too familiar for the Inukura. She sniffed the air a little, hoping to find some remnants of the mushroom that was causing insects to commit suicide. She wondered if they could eliminate the source, rather than eliminate the infected, since it was only natural to want to go for the core of the problem. The girl studied their surroundings, continuing until they reached the bamboo forest. It was a beautiful forest, for all its worth, with tall, dark green bamboo neatly planted into something like a art piece. She loved bamboo forests, feeling a sense of zen among them. To her it screamed relaxation and beauty. Turning to look at the Kaguya once more, she would wait for the other girl to say something, her expression as cold as ice.

"Just stay out of my way and this will go just fine."

By now Kokoro was more than accustomed to the other girl's rudeness that she waved it off, not giving her words any thought. She wasn't here to work with her as a partner, she was here to finish the mission. The young girl scanned the bamboo forest, looking for any signs of the mysterious mushroom. She hardly took any notice of the girl's words, sniffing the air a little as she stopped. Her head turned to the right as she thought she heard a sound. From what she gathered, it wasn't a sound of a regular animal walking, as that would have made more of a sound among the quiet forest. But what was it...? Kokoro decided to walk further in, ignoring Yatari completely as she searched.

She would reach a clearing and notice that there was a swarm of unusual bugs on the ground. They were gathering in masses, thirty or forty clustered around a rock of sorts. She would take a deep breath, trying to calm of her inner fears before she continued on. From the looks of things, the bugs seemed to be spreading, with many more coming from different directions within a two meter radius. They would have to kill the bugs first, before moving on to find the mushroom that was behind the mess. By now she would turn her attention to Yatari for the first time, hissing at her. "Just shut up and do your job. Go take that left swarm and I'll take the right." she waved her hand in the direction of the cluster of about twenty bugs to their left.

Kokoro would not wait for an answer from the Kaguya before she unsheathed her blade. She would simply eliminate them in clusters. It was faster for her to do it this way, cursing under her breath as she wished she had a jutsu that would help do the job quicker. She was so absorbed in not becoming sick at the sight of the insects that she paid little attention to how her "teammate" was doing on the other side. Concentrating her chakra to her fingers, she recalled she did have a raiton jutsu as she sent
a bolt of lightning at the center of the bug cluster, continuing to slash at the remaining ones with her sword. She was almost certain that she would see these little annoying things in her sleep tonight, shuddering at the thought.

The process was simply a long one, as effortless as it was. Soon they would clear the area, and she would nod her head to the right of her, where there was a pathway that led them outside of the bamboo forest and into another part of the jungle. She seemed to recall that many of the insects had come from this direction and assumed that whatever was infecting it would be originating from there as well. Her blade once again sheathed, she would walk in silence, keeping an eye on the girl to see if she was following.

And the two kunoichi would follow a path out of the bamboo forest, heading deeper into the jungle. Kokoro noticed the litter of bugs and insects along the way, trying to clear them with her sword so as to limit the spread of the unknown disease. Ot wouldn't take long for the girls to find the fungus culprits responsible for the mess. There was a massive field of them, large and small, with the largest one nestled conveniently in the center. All around that mushrooms were bugs, making the scene almost more horrific than a scary movie. Kokoro shuddered, her weapon poised and ready to attack.

She didn't care about research, or bringing back any samples for the village. She was her to exterminate and that was what she would do. Glancing at her partner, she saw that at least the girl was pulling her weight in the mission, instead of just standing around doing nothing. The Inukura ran towards the biggest mushroom, going in to take down the biggest one while Yatari busied herself with her own liad of bugs and mushroom. Kokoro hadn't expected to see this many, seeing around ten mushrooms for them to take care of plus the colonies of bugs. This was like a scene from a horror film and she was just about finished with bugs, mushrooms and her partner.

Kokoro was getting more than just annoyed at the sight of the bugs and the mushrooms. She sent lightning bolts down to kill off the hoards of insects, while trying to clear them away with her sword. She too wished for some fire ninjutsu skill at about now. What better way to kill things than burning them. The girl lost her patience as she leapt into the air, her sword now poised to stab the fungus like it was a person. There was nothing about this mission she liked, and she was just about ready to finish it off for good. The girl smirked as she drove the sword in, jumping out of the way and pulling her sword out after it had made contact. She wasn't sure if the thing was poisonous or at all harmful to humans. Not that she cared really since she was a medic.

The girl glanced over at her partner who was having quite some fun with her share of the work. At least she knew how to fight, she mused. It would be a great pity if the girl only talked big. Kokoro would clear the rest of the bugs and insects, sending a final lightning bolt down to the mushroom and watched as it withered like a flower. She would go back to the girl, clearing the rest of the bugs that were coming their way. It was like a bad case of pulling weeds out of a giant garden. Kokoro could feel herself sweating heavily as the duo continued for a good couple of minutes. Finally it would seem that the end could be seen, and thank goodness for she was exhausted.

Kokoro gave a little smirk as she continued to slash at the irritating bugs. It was unfortunate that she was stuck doing this mission but perhaps it had been a good thing because now her innate fear of the little creeps was replaced with anger and irritation. The young girl would clear clusters of bug at a time, while keeping a close eye on her partner. Although they were not exactly on speaking terms, she wanted to at least know that she was doing alright. Seeing that Yatari was actually fending off pretty well, she would give a small smile. How the girl reminded her of her first Genin days...

With the final cluster of bugs finished, she would move to the rest of the poisonous mushrooms, taking them out with swiftness and precision. Kokoro was just about ready to go home, and the thought of staying in these parts for longer than a few seconds disgusted her. Of course she had not known about Yatari's desire to take one of the mushrooms for research purposes, clearing all of them out of frustration and anger. Upon hearing the other girl speak, she would turn her head to face the girl, giving her an awkward smile. "I guess so." her sentence equally short, she would turn her head back to the now uprooted mushrooms, stabbing them carelessly with her sword.
