    The Objective:

It was around noon and Ryojin was wandering the business district in search for whatever caught his eye in order to buy. He was eyeing everything in the rather vacant market place peacefully. He had wandered from a weapon store, an armor store, a house decoration store, a meat store, what was he supposed to do? What was he supposed to buy? As he continued on from the raw meat shop, he hadn't even noticed the presence of a large suntan colored bear that he crashed down from god knows where in order to open a case and pull out a massive fish which it used to stuff it's own maw with. The bear had paid no attention to the boy walking about musing over the stress of having to make an actual decision about a souvenir to bring home to his father. He hadn't brought anything back for him the past couple of times, and admittedly, the disappointment his father had shown made him rather uneasy about going back empty handed this time. Though knowing his father he would be just fine with even a small vial of sand from the sun to analyze. A long sigh escaped Ryojin's lips. He walked forward past the weapons shop and a bear swinging about nunchaku like it had one hundred years of training. He kicked sand about frowning deeply still. What on earth was he supposed to bring home for the man.

He took a seat on a bench for a moment to get some rest from the scorching sun of the village. He took out a canteen and took a couple gulps of water. The business district definitely wasn't as busy as usual. He had really picked the perfect day to take his time and select a quality gift. Ryojin had managed to get up and stretch just as a solid vase was chucked out the window of the house decorations store and hit the ground and shattered. Ryojin looked down at the vase and frowned slightly. It was such gorgeous craftsmen ship. The intricate details were really pretty, the colors were well thought out, and the artistry had been quite impressive. Even broken into several pieces the vase looked flawless. He sighed softly and turned to notice the window that had been broken. He looked through the window and made direct eye contact with a massive white bear with blue eyes. "Wait...What...?" Ryojin blinked softly and the bear blinked softly. They both stared at each other for an extended moment before the massive beast let out a loud roar.

"Wow. You're even taller than Gen!" Ryojin had launched himself through the broken window and was prodding at the bear now with his metal bo staff. "Are you actually a bear?! There's no way! Are you why the market district is so empty?! Where have you come from?!" Ryojin was shifting about the bear prodding it at various locations, asking all sorts of questions that the bear definitely did not know how to answer. After a few more moments of this, the bear charged at Ryojin and tried to directly swing at him, but it was big and slow. Ryojin side stepped the incoming paw swipe and formed his thumb and pointer finger into the shape of a gun. Water formed on the tip of his finger. "How thick is your skin? How strong are you exactly? Could you lift a building?! I bet you could come close!" The bear had swung again, but Ryojin's finger was now pressed gently to it's chest. After a moment, the water on his finger was fired off through the bear's chest and it let out a loud roar before swinging at him again. He ran, dove back out the open window, and yelled. "Come on! You can do better than that!" A more aggravated aggressive roar escaped the white bear this time. It tore the shop door from the hinges and sent it flying toward Ryojin. He ducked down for it to barely miss. "Nice try~ But not this time!" In the commotion of fighting the first bear, Ryojin hadn't noticed the other two making their way toward him.

Ami smiled as she stepped onto the Nikkousato village streets. She had been doing missions at the sun village recently and even entering friendly spars with other shinobi. And today she had wanted to take a little breather of sorts, roaming the oddly deserted streets. She looked up at the sky and sighed, again slightly agitated that the temperature and weather were vastly different from the Moon Village. She scanned around, slightly hungry after a long day, but found that there was nothing to eat. The Hyuuga would scan for food, resting on a fruits vendor. She guessed that would have to do, walking towards the vendor and picking up some strawberries and peaches. "They look delicious!" her eyes would light up at the fruits. She remembered that even back in her own village, she never bought any fruits.

At noon, she would have already eaten three boxes of strawberries and two peaches. The young girl would continue walking down the street and would have minded her own business had she not heard a crash from somewhere close by. It sounded like glass as it shattered and being the ever-so curious shinobi that she was. Ami would make her way to where the sound originated. Running through the street, she would find the broken vase on the street. The broken window where it came from would show her a large animal and someone who was supposedly talking to it. The girl would walk towards the stranger, who at close glance would reveal to someone she had already met. What was his name...? She tried to remember.

"Are you talking to a bear?" she asked incredulously as though the scene in front of her didn't already tell her that. She would look at the white bear, which at first glance seemed to actually look pretty cute. The girl looked into its blue eyes, trying to decide the next course of action. But she wouldn't need to as the bear had gone to attacking the other person, who she finally remembered was actually a moon shinobi...the ice user! The girl would give him a smile before turning her attention to the now roaring bear, her expression serious and grim. She didn't like attacking animals, especially bears.

"Isn't he really cool?!" Ryojin vaulted himself up as the bear tried to shoulder charge him, and with a quick rotation of his hips and shoulders brought the bo staff of his right down on the bear's noggin. It grunted and rubbed it's hand. Ryojin landed with a rough thud and dropped his bo to rub at his palms. "Wow! You're definitely thick skinned. Let's see how you do with this!" Ryojin had formed hand signs, and suddenly, water began gushing from his mouth and raising into a wave. The other two bears had joined the white one in range and Ryojin grinned as he began to ride the wave forward. "Oh! There are more! I hope you all can swim!" Ryojin laughed as the wave pressed forward. The amount of water was enough that the bears couldn't stand it and were all swept away. As the wave settled, Ryojin formed more hand seals bringing forward a thick mist. "Let's make quick of these bears miss Hyuuga! They look quite dangerous!"

Ryojin now quickly closed the distance between him and the white bear. The other two had gone back to back, but as Ryojin closed the distance, he had grabbed one end of his bo and spun himself rabidly in a circle swinging hard into the bear's head. Ryojin had fallen to the water and the next blow from his bo staff hit right where he had fired through before with the water bullet. This brought the white bear facing down in the water. He had managed to successfully bring the bear down and quickly flipped back out of sigh from the other two bears. He launched forward two kunai one toward each bear, but they were smart enough to block them both off from sound alone. They had seemed to be large and slow, but they were definitely smart too.

Ryojin instead made his way back to Ami and chuckled softly. "How about it Ami? Want to attack in tandem?" Ryojin gave forward a big grin. "We'll attack the same bear at the same time, rotate between striking the brown and black one. I'll grab their attention first using my kunai and shuriken, then you go in with Taijutsu to seal the deal! Does that sound good to you? Or I could be the main assault if the bears scare you or you think they're too big and strong!" The latter part being more of a playful tease and jab.

Ami would watch quietly as Ryojin took care of the white bear in a rather quick fashion, one of a true fighter. She noticed that he used some of the Ninjutsu techniques she knew. As mist began to cover the area, she quickly activated her Byakugan, not wanting to lose sight of the now three bears which stood in front of them. The girl would continue to watch as the man brought the white bear flat on its face, applauding him quietly. The black and brown bears were next she knew, and judging from the way they had knocked down his kunais, they weren't half as dense as they looked. At the mention of collaborating attacks, the girl would nod her head, thinking of what should be done. She only gave him an incredulous look at his not-so-funny joke, readying her body in the Gentle Fist stance.

She wanted to finish this quickly. The girl would wait for Ryojin's diversion first before going in with her own attack. As she ran forward she would think about the techniques she could use. If she could somehow disable or stall the attack of both bears at the same time, it would have been great. But attacking one after another didn't seem like such a bad idea either. Her eyes narrowed as she looked for the major chakra points of first the brown bear. She would have to act fast since the black bear was probably going to attack her if it sees her attacking the other bear. She would keep the black bear in the corner of her eye, just in case. Assuming the man would throw a weapon at the brown bear, she would quickly follow, jumping up as she closed in on the creature.

Her chakra concentrated to the palms of her hands, she would hit the brown bear with her chakra, aiming at its arms and midsection. She was going to use her sixteen palms technique and follow with thirty-two palms immediately after if the first jutsu successfully connected. All the while she would keep the black bear in her line of focus, at least its chakra points. She hoped that Ryojin would be dealing an attack at the other creature while she kept this one busy. Whichever it was though, she was confident that the fight was going to be easy.

Ryojin did just as he said he would. Suddenly two kunai of ice formed solidly in his hands and he whipped one toward each bear. They curved out then back from his throw, and headed right forward toward them through the mist. The brown one was sharp, raising it's hands to block a blow to the chest, but the other had instead been impaled and let out an irritated roar just as the white one had done twice before. Ryojin would observe the girl's jutsu as best he could through the mist being utilized on the bear. She would have no issues making contact with the bear's stomach is it blocked from heavy damage from the kunai. In the mean time, as her jutsu would connect Ryojin slammed his hand on the ground, and a clone rose forth that looked just like Ryojin. He ran toward the black bear who proceeded to swing on the clone, but the clone was agile much like Ryojin. The clone slipped the blow, but the bear had also done another swipe from it's opposite paw. The clone wasn't as sharp as it thought as it poofed into a cloud of frost. The black bear let out another roar as the arm that had collided with the clone was frozen in ice.

While the clone had played with the black bear, Ryojin vaulted himself with his bo staff up into the air and brought the metal stick down atop the bear's head with a loud clang. After the Hyuuga's assault and a blow to the head, the bear would no doubt be out of commission after their in tandem assault. That left one bear standing, and Ryojin wouldn't bother taking a break after landing on the ground next to the brown bear. He would vault himself straight toward the black bear now, but this bear had apparently decided not to take anything laying down as it clasped it's paws together on his bo staff and yanked both it and him forward. The bear tossed Ryojin a bit away, but he agiley landed on his feet with a bit of a chuckle. "Come on big bear." He held his staff behind him in one arm and waved the bear forward with the opposite hand. "Show me what you've got your friends sure weren't any trouble! Don't hesitate and don't be scared. After all, I'm only human right?"

Ami found it extremely amusing that Ryojin liked talking to the bears he was attacking. She jumped backward, her feet lightly tapping the ground after hitting the bear with her clan jutsu, knocking the wind out of it. The young woman gave the bear a small smile, watching as her partner and his clone played around with the black mammal. While he was keeping busy, the girl would turn her attention to the last bear standing. She guessed that it must have been pretty bored, watching from the sidelines. The Hyuuga would learn quite quickly that it would prove to be the smartest out of the three bears. Before Ryojin would go for his attack, she would try a hand at it first, trying to use the same technique as before.

But that wouldn't have worked too well, as the bear brought its claws down on her, before she could even bring herself to extend her palms out to hit its stomach. The girl unsheathed her sword, jumping out of the way with a split second to spare before the bear's claws were to hit her shoulder. She jumped upward, her foot aiming to attack the bear in the stomach and then slash it in the same area. Although she enjoyed using Taijutsu, she was a swordsman at her core. She would keep playing with the bear while Ryojin finished with the black one and came to her aid. Ami would run around the bear, hoping to attack it from behind while the man attacked from the front.

The brown bear had swung forth toward Ami, but it was soon reminded that Ryojin was it's main opponent as he utilized the far end of his bo to thrust harshly into it's chest. The bear let out another roar and from this point charged Ryojin. He pushed himself up above the bear, and on his way to land behind it delivered a bo strike right into the base of it's neck. He landed with a thud, but utilized his still going momentum to put some distance between he and the beast. He swung back a kunai, and the bear managed to turn to block it, but what it hadn't expected was the exploding note attached to one end. The beast would grunt as the note was ignited and blew up in it's face creating the perfect momentary cover for Ami to strike. This time, everything had gone exactly to plan. Ryojin would stand up huffing a bit from having used so much of his chakra, but he was sure that this would be a wrap when Ami moved in to strike and wasn't too worried at all. He watched closely to make sure nothing went sideways at the last minute, but even despite his earlier jokes, he definitely trusted her as a shinobi. She had proved her competency even beyond his expectations.

In the mean while, the mist began to fade away clearing Ami's vision completely. The bear was still rearing back from the concussive impulse of the explosion, but in truth it was amazing that it was still standing after a direct strike like that. Who on earth would've thought that this bear could be so stubborn it would hold through an explosive note and barely even actually budge from it's spot. It really was a shame that these bears were in the business of causing trouble and not becoming shinobi. What if these bears were physically trained like the shinobi in the villages were? Was it possible they too could make good ninja? The place his train of thought went must've amused him somewhat because a bit of a cackle was released from him as he imagined bears in village headbands using katana, kunai, and shuriken. Even more amusing to him he thought about them utilizing jutsu. How curious would that be? Could they manipulate chakra in the same sense that people could? Ryojin rubbed his chin thoughtfully. These bears in particular definitely had potential, but he had a feeling they lacked the actual intelligence necessary.

It seemed that Ryojin and Ami shared the same train of thought as the mist began to clear, giving her slightly more visual clarity than before. With her Byakugan still active though, the clarity was miniscule. She could see that somehow the last bear had survived the exploding tags from Ryojin just before the mist dissipated. How strange yet interesting that what normally would have killed any animal had done so little damage to the creature in front of them. Could the bears be like the monkeys she had captured before, having the ability to manipulate chakra? If so, unlike monkeys who would cause annoying mischief, these bears would actually be a bit dangerous to mankind. They would have to report it to the village, after they were finished with the animal first.

She wondered if taking the body of this last one standing to a science lab might be beneficial. She was still thinking of this as she attacked, kicking the bear from behind and driving her sword at its back. The animal would give a painful roar, echoing in the otherwise quiet room around them. Ami would look over at Ryojin quickly, signaling him to deliver the final and fateful blow, her blade still stuck in the bear. The creature thrashed its arms out at the girl, throwing her against the wall, her hand removed from her blade. By then she would deactivate her Byakugan, gaining her normal vision back as she waited for the creature's next moves, if it had any.

Ami's blade still set within the creature. Ryojin grinned and within a moment he closed the distance between he and the bear that was present now. It took one mighty swing of his metal bo to collide into the blade already shoved into the bear. Ami had done well. The bear did manage to get a good swipe on Ryojin's left arm, but it caused him to chuckle a bit. "Well well. In the end you were the best fighter." Blood dripped down from his wound and he laughed a bit. It was over, the bears had lost and the two shinobi had won. He retracted both ends of his bo as shinobi showed up to clean up the mess they had made. He assisted in the clean up, though was stopped rather quickly and looked at by a medical shinobi who made it a point to fix his arm up nice and good with mystical palm technique. He moved it about freely and grinned. "Wow! You healed it up just as good as my dad could've I think!" With that, Ryojin stood back up and resumed cleaning.

After about an hour or so and some additional assistance from more shinobi it was as though the wreckage in the market place hadn't even happened and Ryojin bought one of the vases in the shop he had ran into the first bear in to take back to his father. This would do quite nicely along with the story that he had fought three bear with a fellow shinobi in order to acquire the vase. It was no simple task this time around to bring his father something home. He swung his bo about lazily and between people bustling about in the busy market place. Had he forgotten something? OH.. he meant to say goodbye to Ami, but by now there'd be quite the distance between them. Another job well done. Well. At least done. A small sigh escaped his lips. He was just so messy when it came to fighting. That was probably something that would never change.

Ami stood up slowly, noticing that her sword was still stuck in the bear. She watched as Ryojin applied the finishing touches and smiled at his comment to the creature as it fell. Indeed, she had the same thought, complimenting the bear for his efforts. If only it hadn't lashed out the way it did they wouldn't have had to kill it. She glanced over at Ryojin, who's arm had taken a blow from the bear. She had wanted to help him but was stopped as shinobi would show up then, to take care of the aftermath that they had started. She would only smile and bow towards her partner, knowing that their was some mutual understanding between the two. Since she hadn't suffered much injury, she waved off the medical ninja who insisted on taking a look at her to see if she was alright.

It took an hour for everything to return to normal, and by normal, as though what had happened just never happened. The streets resumed to its bustling state, the shops that were wrecked by both shinobi and bear looked immaculate. Not a trace was left behind and she would buy a vase from the shop where the first bear had appeared. She wasn't much of a pottery or internal designs expert but she bought one for her room, in case she ever wanted to decorate it with some peach blossom flowers. It was also a little bit of an apology to the shop owner, for half destroying his store only moments before. She had meant to bid Ryojin farewell but seeing as they were both too absorbed in shopping, she wouldn't notice that he had already left by the time she had picked out her vase.

Until next time, she thought to herself, walking down the streets and to the village gates.
