The Bridge on the River Kawaii

Why she had even decided to take on this mission was beyond her, as the green haired Hyuuga made her way to the bridge near Kataki Road. It was a new thing for her, perhaps could even be considered an adventure of sorts. She was going to fight for the control and ownership of the bridge with another Gekkousato shinobi. She had never been in a group fight, having only done a few friendly spars and fights with the Genin of her own village. And to be honest, she was a little bit excited. She knew that the best way for someone to get to know another person was by fighting, if not talking. And with that, she headed out of her village gates, proceeding to the bridge.

It didn't take her long to get there, as Ami looked up at the beautiful sky. She liked sunset, liked the orange and pink tints adorning the clouds. It was the perfect time of day for her, and certainly for what was to come. The Hyuuga would see two figures standing at the midpoint of the bridge. From the distance she could only make of their hair colour, which was honestly the only thing she cared about. It appeared that one had black and one had red hair, and remembering that no shinobi from her village had red hair, she guessed they were from the Sun. She would tread carefully towards them, in no way trying to pick a fight. Perhaps talking to them first would be ideal? She would give it a shot.

As she neared them, she would give them a small smile. "Hyuuga Ami, nice to meet you." From just looking at her, people would have no way of guessing that she was here for a fight. There was no demeanor of edginess about her. Just a simple, light smile. She was wearing her usual black dress, with black boots, her katana strapped to her waist and weapon pouch to her left knee. Just an ordinary looking girl, on a not-so-ordinary mission. She would wonder who her partner would be, as her eyes glanced around the area, trying to see if the forth person was anywhere near.

There was not much room for introductions and small talk, as she saw that the two other shinobi were somewhat impatient. She would simply nod to Arashi, acknowledging that she was to be teamed up with him for this clash and would only give him her name as her attention was somewhat divided between being polite and watching the other two's movements. "Hyuuga Ami, from Gekkousato." was all she would offer at that point. She would notice a light, that was so bright that it blinded her. It seemed that it had come from the man who had said they were really polite, or something of that sort.

The thought of taking her sight from her sent chills down her spine. It reminded her of the time in the tomb, when she was met with pitch darkness. Now it was somewhat different, and yet so similar as a light would blind her from seeing any attack that was aimed at her. Although she couldn't see, she would concentrate her chakra to the palm of her hands and use one of her clan jutsus. Since palm rotation did not require her to see to deflect any attack, it was her only self defense mechanism.

And palm rotation was her only choice, given that she was still blinded. Ami hated having to use her rotation technique twice in a row, especially at such an early start to the fight. But she had no other choice, given that activating her Byakugan was almost impossible. She could feel that an attack was coming at her, from which direction unknown. She closed her eyes and concentrated on spinning once again, hoping that even if she couldn't see her attacker, her deflection would still work. This made her very much conscious as to how much her techniques required sight as a prerequisite and it made her shudder to think that she would be useless and defenseless had it not been for her palm rotation.

As her vision was restored, the chaos that was happening around her was a little too much for Ami to handle. She shook her head a little to clear her vision only to find that Arashi's flaming cloak was coming at her! She guessed that the cloak was not meant for her, but for Gen who had collided with the ground of the bridge as a result of her palm rotation. She only had a few seconds to jump backward, her body gently scraping the remnants of his flaming cloak. But that would be the least of her concerns as Gen had then fired a beam of chakra at her torso. She would lose her balance as she tried to twist her body to dodge the beam, her body falling backward and over the railing of the bridge. Her hand reached out to grab the railing. Although shaken by the blast, she wasn't going to allow herself to plummet into the deep waters. The girl clasped both hands tightly on the railing, dangling over the raging currents. She needed to find a way to hoist her body back up...

Ami would take the chance to do something kind of rash, as the electric current from Gen's Nagashi hit the railing. She would let go of the railing, allowing her body to plummet. But as she did so, she would perform the handseals to a technique she had never used before, creating a whip of water from her hand. She would wrap the roped around the railing, and pulling her body upward so that she could get herself back onto the bridge. As she found her way closer to the railing she would hoist herself back over the bridge, hoping that she was still in time to help Arashi. The girl wasn't really sure what was happening as she found herself back on the bridge. She would form another set of handseals, her arms surrounded by wind chakra. She would send one slash at Gen, just as she was pushed back five meters with his hurricane technique. There would still be two slashes waiting to be used, as she watched the movements of her opponents carefully.

The Nagashi had traveled from her water whip to her hand and then to her body, shocking her more than just a little as she stopped for a moment, unable to move. The girl suffered the affects, even though she had instinctively retracted her whip as soon as she landed back on the bridge. It didn't help that it was a water whip, as water combined with electricity made the effects even more jarring than they would be for regular circumstance. She struggled to maintain her position, as the shock traveled through her body. She would stand there for a good few minutes, enough to watch as Gekumaru came for an attack.

She had noticed that it was just the two of them now, fighting for the bridge. She watched as he would come in for his kicks, knowing that she would have no way of using her palm rotation to match his attacks. Ami try to move backwards, her remaining wind slashes aimed directly at his feet. It was more of a deterrence so that it could perhaps stall him or lessen the damage of his attack as she moved backwards or create a diversion.
