Post by Kenji Haruka Sat Apr 11, 2020 3:28 pm

    Name: Scout the Border
    Rank: C-Rank
    Participants: Moon Village, Sun Village
    Type: Group Mission
    Reward: 25 EXP, 10 Ryo
Details:  Just like patrolling the village is important, it is also important to make sure the nations borders are secure. Your task is to spend time roaming the regions borders and making sure nothing looks out of place. This includes roaming the main road, outing bandit camps or arresting thieves. While it can be boring at times, you never know what is going to pop up out in the wild.
Requirements: Each person must make at least 2, 400 word post.

It was yet another sunny day in the moon village, birds were singing, flowers were blooming and on days like these, shinobi like Kenji would be sleeping. Alas that was not an option for him, he had recently thought of a new puppet design and he was eager to begin creating it, the only problem being the lack of funds he has and as such, here was yet again on another mission with someone to scout the border. At least this time, he was certain he knew what to do, just simply walk around and talk to any travelers, figure out what they're doing and let them go. Hell probably won't even have to do any talking if he's lucky, well besides talking to his partner of course.

Kenji couldn't help but wonder who his partner will be this time around, he was hoping they'd at the very least be willing to just walk around randomly instead of following some sort of arbitrary rules, it wasn't like there was much to worry about beside those murders... Still Kenji figured if Anbu couldn't figure it out, what hope would lowly genin have? The only real thing Kenji had going for him was designing puppets and he had doubts those skills would translate to solving the serial killer case.

Either way, Kenji only made sure to adjust his holster holding both his Tanto and Wakizashi, the two blades resting within a separate holster each that was tied together with wedges between the two holsters designed to create some space apart from the blades so he can pull one of them out with ease. Of course it'd probably be a lot more effective to buy or build a special holster designed to fit the two blades than Kenji's own thrown together design but he figured he'd just use some of the spare wood and clothe he had laying around after creating Lingchi, the seal for the puppet resting on the holster of his Tanto. He figured it'd help to look a bit more intimidating while out here and what better way to show that than using his two blades? Along with his equipment of course.

Like his previous mission, he wore his flak jacket underneath his own black sleeveless jacket and his forehead protector hung lazily around his neck and much like before, he held his white candy stick in his mouth, the cherry flavor helping him keep his mind from wandering too far. He was nearing his approach to the rendezvous point where he'd meet his partner and then the two would begin scouting, a fairly simple affair all things considered. He wouldn't be too surprised if the two shinobi basically just walked and talked for the next few hours until they both called it a day and returned to the village.

As he stopped at the rendezvous point, he looked around at his surroundings, figuring it'd be a good idea to familiarize himself with this place a bit before his partner shows up. There wasn't much that stood out to Kenji, plenty of trees surrounded him and it appeared the path he was on was currently leading into a valley as the road begun to dip downward in a rather steep angle while far on either side of him the land seemed to have curved upward. It'd probably be a few minutes at a downward angle before the two would be in the valley... If one considered this not part of a valley. He probably should've paid more attention in geography, he was terrible at figuring what his environment was.

A mission was it? An intriguing idea to the strange young man with long jade green hair. His soft golden eyes scanned the objects that lay on his freshly made bed. An exploding note, a katana, a flak jacket, a forehead protector and a medical bag. Along with these items, were his typical clothing. Freshly cleaned and ready to put on. He stood there naked in his room for a bit, pondering if he should even wear clothes. Were they really that important? Then again, he figured it might be difficult to not stand out too much otherwise. It's a pain to pretend to be boring sometimes... he thought to himself as he reached for his britches and begun to dress in the black and green clothing. This being accomplished, he put on his flak jacket and then strapped the medical bag to the backside of his wait. This way it wouldn't impair his movements. He stuffed the exploding tag into a pocket and attached the katana to his lower back, snug between his back and the medical bag so it wouldn't come loose unintentionally.

He picked up his forehead protector and gazed at the symbol of the moon that was upon it. Beautiful craftsmanship. Whomever mass produced these for the shinobi, must had had a strong amount of pride in their village loyalties. Loyalty was something that Yami possessed very little of. He knew the important, like how he was supposed to love and protect his parents. Or respect the Kage. Honestly he cared nothing for these sorts, though he publicly showed proper characteristics to not be labeled as crazy or an extremist. He tied the forehead protector around his neck loosely and allowed it to dangle a bit and be visible to the discerning eye if they so chose to pay enough attention to him. With all of his preparations completed he threw his black cloak over his body, concealing almost all of his form and then lifted the hood over  his face to conceal his identity. he never knew if someone was watching him... Maybe for no reason, or maybe a reason his fragile mind had yet to consider. It was best to be cautious.

As he left the house, his mother wished him to be safe and his father just grunted an indifferent guttural sound that could easily be interpreted as "Don't trouble me if you die out there." He just smiled an unnaturally friendly and loving smile, one that he had practiced for hours every day in the mirror until he was satisfied that the smile looked genuine.

After leaving the house, he kept his hood lowered until he left the village gates and headed towards the designated rendezvous. He wasn't doing this mission alone, no... There was another shinobi joining him. The idea excited Yami.. As he seldom had opportunity to work with others. Maybe it was coincidental... or maybe the others his age and rank intentionally avoided him. It mattered little to Yami, except in the sense that it challenged his ability to take on better missions.

Assuming his partner noticed him before his approach, Yami would wave to the boy from a distance and then quicken his step. Once he approached withim ten feet or so, Yami would stand up straight and throw back the hood of hi cloak to reveal his long jade green hair and piercing golden eyes. Again, he would give off his smile- which in all honestly, looked quite forced and creepy. "Greetings fellow shinobi! My name is Yami. What are you called?"

He would wait several seconds and listen to the other an's reply before taking a step forward to meander around the borders of the village's territory. There was no real destination they were supposed to reach, which was what Yami preferred. With no real expectation, he could do whatever he wished in the time. What really mattered was what the other man in his squad wished to do with the time they were required to venture forth. Was he a stickler or was he more flexible? He reply would be jugged by Yami, giving the fellow a rating of madness regardless if his response was favorable or not. "What should we do whle we patrol?"

As Kenji was familiarizing himself with his surroundings, he noticed a hooded person approaching him and said hooded person waved toward him, a gesture Kenji returned with a smile. Seems this was going to be his new partner and he simply waited for them to approach and as soon as the person came near, he took off his hood and revealed that this was a guy with long jade coloured hair, golden eyes and rather pale skin. Kenji had to admit this guy didn't look half bad, it takes a certain amount of luck to make the pale look work for you and this guy got lucky with the jade coloured hair and golden eyes.

However, once his new partner smiled, Kenji could only raise an eyebrow at the smile, it was off putting to him like the type of smile one would put on to try and hide their disdain for someone and Kenji had to wonder if he somehow pissed this guy off without knowing it way back in the past. An idea that was shot down as he introduced himself as Yami before asking what he was "called".

"Uh, Kenji Haruka, at your service." Kenji simply answered with a a shrug of his shoulders, it was a bit strange for him to ask what he was called instead of a name but he chalked it up to some sort of manners within his family or something. With introductions over with, the shorter shinobi begun to walk forward before asking what exactly they were going to do while patrolling and Kenji simply begun to walk with him, giving a shrug of his shoulders as he brought his hands upward and spread out to illustration he really didn't have much of a plan.

"Well I figured we'd just walk down the path, talk to whoever is coming by and see what they're doing, if they need help, you know all that boring stuff." Kenji explained his plan without much care since it was rather boring to scout the border and honestly Kenji really wasn't expecting to run into more than 10 people max. "Unless of course you got a better idea of what to do, I never really did much scouting outside of the village before." Kenji added as he gave a simple stretch of his back, it had been a while since he brought most of his equipment out with him and he was already regretting his choice of bringing both swords when he had Lingchi.

Low. That was what Yami thought. Low in madness at the moment anyways. His mind quickly shifted from that however, as he wished to not be too distracted during their first meeting. It occurred to Yami that he hadn't given this Kenji, his actual clan name. He was after all, an Aburame. His last name differed because he took his mother's last name. Another sign that his father hadn't accepted him as one of them. Well, it didn't matter too much.. Not unless Kenji was very bothered by creepy insects.

Yami began to follow Kenji as he walked aimlessly forward down the road. This was as good as any route, or so Yami assumed. In either case, Yami wanted to see what kind of skills his squad member possessed. He had his own ideas about how they should spend their time. "I know of a few popular bandit camp spots in the area. We should check them out just to be certain. We wouldnt want to say we checked everything, only for a merchant to get attacked on the same route we just reported as clear." he would say convincingly, though he had no real interest in the battle itself. Just his ally. Yami could hold his own in a battle. But could Kenji? Yami would begin to veer off the path ever so slightly if Kenji didnt refuse the idea.

Kenji kept walking forward as his companion followed him, listening to the suggestion that the two go clear a nearby bandit camp that Kenji was unaware of. "Sure as hell beats walking down this path and doing nothing." Kenji told his companion as the shorter shinobi begun to lead them toward the location of the supposed popular locations for bandit camps. The katana resting on the man's back gave Kenji some sort of idea of how his companion was going to fight but he had to wonder just how skilled with the blade he was compared to himself, his skills with the blade may have gotten rusty due to neglect but he was still somewhat confident in his abilities.

"So I take it you use bukijutsu as well? I'm not too bad of a swordsmen myself, although I think we prefer different styles if you're using the katana." Kenji would comment as he examined the pale shinobi's choice of weapon before gesturing toward his two shorter blades resting at the back of his waist at an angle that was nearly horizontal. "Then again, I consider my bukijutsu to be more of a back up rather than my main form of attack." Kenji added as he let out a slight yawn, all this walking was a bit boring for the shinobi and his time could've been better spent napping. Or working on Lingchi, or even starting to design the parts for his new puppet.

"I consider myself a puppeteer first and foremost, just easier to sit back and let something else do all the work, you know?" Kenji would explain his reasoning for being a puppeteer with a shrug of his shoulders and grin. There were other benefits to becoming a puppeteer of course but Kenji would be lying if his primary reason for being a puppeteer wasn't the ability to fight someone just by wiggling his fingers.

Yami was glad that his partner agreed to a guilty pleasure detour. While it was indeed their duty to patrol the border and take care of any troubles they encountered- it was't meant to be a "Go seek out danger for yourself" kind of mission. In either case, they would be ridding the land of some bandits. The lands would be safer and the village would be pleased with their work. The effect was what was important, not the cause. While many of the moral objective types may refuse atrocious acts- they wouldn't feel much if any compassion to any foe who met an untimely and gruesome demise. This was no different.

As Yami led Kenji off the path and onto a less traveled dirt path, he would lose himself occasionally to various scenarios. Like what if the Sun Village suddenly decided to attack? Their villages were at peace and the Moon Village would be completely unsuspecting of a sudden war. The brothers were Kage after all. It was unlikely, but there was always madness in every thought and action. The possibility was there and that was what Yami was considering. So in-depth with his thoughts, he barely heard Kenji's question about Bukijutsu. Yami blinked for a moment... he didn't really have any Bukijutsu skills.. oh wait.

Without a word, he reached behind his back and grabbed the hilt of his sword and unsheathed it in one quick motion. He turned around and began to walk backwards as he swung at madly in the space between himself and Kenji. All the while, he smiled innocently, though of course his smile was somewhat strained. "Oh I don't actually have much skill with this tool. I mostly use it to confuse people.. Plus it works just as well in killing people as any jutsu. The trick is to misdirect the threat from the sword and stab them when they least expect it" he would say, giving a jousting motion as he mentioned stabbing people.

He agreed with Kenji's assessment of preferred methods. Yai also preferred this method. Not a puppeteer, but a summoner. Not just any summoner, but a summoner of serpents. Subtle and creepy. "Puppetry is a fun idea.. I just dont have any talent in it. I've heard some shinobi turn their foes into puppets. I'd love to see such a spectacle.... Anyways.. I too prefer indirect combat. I do summoning." he would explain at length and then suddenly stop in his tracks as he motioned with his hand to be silent- interrupting whatever Kenji might try to say. Maybe it would be to ask Yami what type of creatures he summoned. Or maybe he was impatient and wanted to know how much further it was to their destination. Or maybe it was even to offer to turn Yami into a puppet if he loved the idea so much.... Whatever the case, Yami had made the signal and taken on a very serious aura.

The two of them had reached their destination, though Kenji was likely just now understanding. Their location was somewhere South of the village's borer, deep in the forest. The bandit camp was well hidden, but Yami had been through here often. He knelt down and brushed away fresh grass that he been strewn over old and worn footprints. An easy sign or tracks that most would overlook if they hadn't known it was there beforehand. Maybe that would give Kenji a red flag about his new partner, but that was of little consequence to Yami. In a lower voice he would speak to Kenji. "Any further steps from here and we'll trigger a sensory barrier. Whatever happens next, just trust me." Yami would say with his failure of a disarming smile.

He would make a couple of handseals and then bite the skin off of his thumb and press his hand firmly to the ground. A mall puff of smoke would envelope his hand and then there appeared three red and black serpents. Two of these serpents would wind their way up Yami's arm and burrow themselves deep into his cloak. The third serpent would slither its way into the barrier and take up a better position. It was a serpent, an average sensory type of ninja or bandit wouldn't think too much of a lone serpent. With his third serpent set up, he would again turn towards Kenji and without a warning, suddenly take a shot at Kenji's gut- attempting to knock the wind out of him and maybe send him into a pale state of unconsciousness. If his punch failed, he would take a step back and raise both hands innocently and try to explain. "We can't both enter this sensory barrier as we are or we'll be spotted and surrounded."

If by chance, he had caught Kenji by surprise and succeeded, he would pick up the slumped Kenji and throw him over his left shoulder and step forward into the sensory barrier. As Kenji would be carried, one of the two serpents in Yami's cloak would crawl into Kenji's shirt and hide itself. One of the reasons Yami had sent the third serpent in beforehand was to give the sensory bandit a subconscious recognition of the snake's presence. This way when Yami triggered the sensory barrier, the bandit with the sensory skill would immediately find Yami and Kenji, but disregard any notion of "snakes". It was a subtle slight of hand to subconsciously influence the bandit's mind to disregard the thought of "Did I sense more snakes?" It was a bit of an extravagant plan and likely wouldn't work so well in normal circumstances, but these weren't normal circumstances.

Assuming Kenji had fallen to his innocent deception and was on Yami's shoulder, as he stepped forward- Yami would say out loud. "Oh Sota! I'm entering your camp's parameter!" he would say and then step through the brush into a clearing. A field roughly twenty feet circumference and a cave at the far end. the cave was covered in moss and blended into the environment seamlessly. As he would finish speaking, three men would emerge from the cave's entrance, the full twenty feet away. If Kenji had been a light sleeper, Yami would drop him roughly on the ground to wake him up. Hopefully he could play to be asleep well enough. Knowing Kenji's skills, the puppeteer could control puppets while just laying on the ground inconspicuously. The serpent in his shirt was a safety measure.

The man in the center of the three was tall and buff. Sota, the leader of the three man bandit group. The one on the left was the sensor. The one on the right was simply a buffoon. An idiot of a man who knew of nothing but slicing skin off of his victims. A psychopath. An interesting prospect, coming from Yami. Yami would walk forward, stepping over Kenji to meet the three in the center of the field. "Looks like you guys are gonna have to move again. I was on my way over to steal some of your booze when I ran into this shinobi from my village. Looks like he was tracking you." he would say, allowing his mind of insanity to spin a plausible story in the most common and likely ways. While he talked and distracted the three of them, his third serpent would perform its own duty and begin to slither towards the center of the forest, behind the three bandits. Yami had done his part. Now it would be up to Kenji to make the transition from casual to combat.

Borderline Boredom Empty Re: Borderline Boredom

Post by Kenji Haruka Thu Apr 16, 2020 7:09 pm

Once Kenji asked his question about Bukijutsu, he knew he made a mistake as his companion drew his katana and begun to swing it around at him, an action that put Kenji on guard as he moved back slightly and placed his hand around the hilt of his Wakizashi, prepared to defend himself from his companions's seemingly random betrayal. An act that was unnecessary as the man didn't seem to be striking toward him but rather demonstrating his skill in the most bizarre way, all with the same strained smile he gave him earlier.

His companion only explained his reasoning for using the katana as nothing more than a distraction or if the enemy was focused elsewhere then he would strike but Kenji had to question what was the distraction for and what could take someone's focus away from the sword? "Right... Well I suppose that makes sense, nothing a good stab wouldn't deal with..." Kenji would add a bit hesitant about speaking further with his partner. Something felt off about him even before he swung his sword around like a mad man and this only confirmed it.

Regardless once the man revealed his preference for summoning, Kenji realized what Yami's sword was supposed to be a distraction for, an animal of some sort to deal a surprise blow to his enemy or at least take the focus so he could strike the blow. "Really? What animal do you sum-" Kenji would attempt to ask before his companion silenced him and knelt down to reveal footprints on the ground. Kenji didn't even notice them, but then again he didn't really care to keep an eye out for anything on the ground.

Yami warned Kenji about the sensory barrier before asking Kenji to trust him, something Kenji was really finding hard to do considering the man's earlier actions. "I see.... I guess that means we're going have to clear out some bandits then, huh?" Kenji would ask as his companion knelt down and summoned a trio of snakes, one of which that would go scouting ahead while the two other went up Yami's sleeves. Kenji wasn't too surprised, Yami was kinda creepy so it made enough sense he would combo with equally creepy animals, only thing to perfect this creepiness would be if an Aburame honestly.

"So a scout and surprise weapons, that's pretty sma-" Kenji would try to comment when Yami delivered a surprise strike to his gut that caused the lazy shinobi to stop talking as the air was knocked out of him. With the sudden pain and lack of air, Kenji couldn't really do much but slump forward and allow his creepy companion to carry him, the one eyed shinobi only remaining limp and in some pain from the strike.

Kenji only told himself that Yami must've had some sort of plan, he asked for the lazy shinobi's trust and sent a scout snake ahead and hid two snakes before delivering a sudden strike. If he wanted to kill Kenji, it would've been easier to simply deliver the blow and follow it up with the sword strike, not like Kenji could've stopped it. His suspicions were confirmed when he felt a snake going up his shirt and it took a surprising amount of will power not to freak out about the snake's scaley body crawling around him and free to do as it pleased. The only thing now on the lazy shinobi's mind being his desire to never work with this creepy snake guy ever again because it hurts and it's creepy and he's creepy and everything about this plan sucked.

Yami called out for some man named Sota and that's when Kenji found himself not trusting Yami once again since he apparently knew of this bandit camp before hand. His former creepy companion threw him on the ground and Kenji could hear about 3 people approach the duo, meaning he'd now have to fight a 4 on 1 without access to his sealed puppet... Right as he admitted to his former companion he wasn't as good as the blades as he could be.... Oh boy.

Yami would only explain he had stumbled across Kenji while coming this way for booze, a blatant lie that only cast more doubt on Kenji's trust. Either way, the shinobi knew he had to get rid of the snake that was currently in his shirt, if there was even a slight chance that his creepy companion was indeed against him, that snake could poison him and the fight would be over before it even begun.

Taking no chance, Kenji grabbed the head of the snake through his shirt and ripped it out in one swift motion, throwing the snake far away before he rolled into a kneeling position and unsealed his puppet from it's seal mark on his holster, the puppet appearing behind him in a puff of smoke. The puppet was in a sitting position with it's cloaked hood and face mask on, leaving only it's hazel painted eyes peeking out from the nearly covered puppet.

Suddenly chakra poured through Kenji's fingers as he pushed his hands back, palms facing the puppet and the strings connected to the puppet before it rushed overhead of the kneeling shinobi as the shinobi brought his hands back in front of him, his chakra pouring from his fingers and remaining connected to the puppet. Under the cover of the face mask, the puppet opened it's mouth to reveal a single metal tube within and with a single flow of the puppeteer's chakra, the device within the puppet's head sprung to action. To everyone else, they'd only see the puppet's head turn toward Sota and within a few seconds senbon begun to rip through it's face mask, 10 of them in rapid succession all aimed right at Sota.

Regardless of the leader's actions, the puppet itself rushed toward the bandit on the left, it's arms raised up and revealing it's bladed fingers that was seemingly ready to strike at the bandit. Kenji however had a different plan of attack, while he was attempting to draw focus to the puppet's bladed hands that were threatening to slash at the bandit from an upward angle, underneath the puppet's cloak a hatch was opened and it's weapon was ready to strike at the target in front of the puppet.

With another flow of chakra, Kenji struck, the tailed blade of the puppet coming from underneath the cloak and aimed right at the bandit's chest. Like before, Kenji didn't care if his attacks did anything and simply brought his puppet back in front of the him, the puppet taking a more defensive posture as it's arms were spread out with it's finger knives revealed, it's bladed tail hanging just slightly over head and it's mouth wide open, the hole ripped through the face mask allowing the bandits and Yami to see the tube hosting the senbon launcher within.

"Your move, dipshits." Kenji told the bandits, a scowl on his face from the sudden betrayal of his companion. He wasn't certain if he could take on all of them, his puppetry skills were fine but he didn't exactly take the time to create any fancy jutsu for his puppet to make use of and was stuck with it's basic attacks that he just displayed for them all to see.

Yami didn't think too much about it at first- this amicable situation was going to come to an end eventually. He had known these bandits for awhile. He had shared drinks with them and turned a blind eye to their misdeeds because it didn't really bother him. Time and circumstance easily changed situations however... and frankly, Yami didn't need a reason or an excuse to suddenly kill these three men. The only odd circumstance, was his ally. Kenji Haruka. Yami had done everything necessary to give Kenji the perfect opening attack. Yet as Kenji suddenly went into motion, he did the most bizarre thing.

First he removed the snake Yami had given him for protection. Followed by summoning one of his puppets and firing deadly needles at Sota- whom was standing quite close to Yami. Too close- Yami felt the wind from the attack and sensed extra hostility. Was Kenji nervous? Maybe he had never experienced real combat before. Or maybe it was just that he hadn't killed anyone and was overreacting. No. While these were perfectly logical explanations, Yami knew the cause. Kenji didn't in fact, trust Yami. The green haired man could only wonder why. This would be hard to explain. With a sigh, Yami would step behind Sota's staggered position. The attack had scored a direct hit on the man's lower abdomen and left his open for a finishing blow.

Now behind Sota- more for avoiding an attack by his confused ally... Kenji drew his sword and inserted it from the rear of Sota's lower back and upwards through the man's throat. As he killed Sota, and Kenji's puppet tore into the surprised second bandit. The third bandit had more time to prepare a counter- standing close to Yami, he would turn in angered surprise as Yami gruesomely slew his leader. Before the man could react however, the snake which had invaded their territory, had found its way to the man's ankle and sank its fangs into the soft flesh of his hamstrings.

"You should be grateful. I gave your leader a fast and clean death. Kenji's attack would have left Sota alive for a couple of weeks- yet slowly die from his stomach being unable to processes food properly." Yami would explain to the third man, which staggered backwards as he realized he had been poisoned. Assuming the serpent had deadly venom, the bandit had given up fighting. If what Yami said was true, then he could expect a quick and painless death as well. It was plain across his face and body expressions. The loss of hope. Yami had known these men and though bandits and killers of innocence, they had always shared their alcohol with him and listened to his stories with ease. This is as good a way as any. he thought to himself as shrugged with some indifference as if he were just now deciding on 'how' he wanted to kill the man.

In one quick motion, he would separate the man's head from his shoulders. The severed head would fly through the air and then hit the ground with a sick thudding sound. Finally it would stop as it rolled across the ground to Kenji's feet. Assuming Kenji had delivered a lethal blow to the third bandit, Yami would turn towards his ally with his creepy smile and arms wide open as if to hug the man from the several meter distance, though his body language said he wasn't a threat. Still, if Kenji wished to fight, Yami had already prepared his second serpent(The one Kenji had thrown) to position itself near and behind the puppeteer. If Kenji so much as moved aggressively or brought his puppet closer to Yami, the serpent would activate one of its jutsu and a large hole would suddenly appear beneath Kenji's feet and attempt to drop him into a fifteen meter deep hole. At the bottom of said hole, would be the snake. The second snake would slither to the edge of the hole and peer down at Kenji as so would Yami. from his height, he would look down at his ally and smile his creepy smile.

"Have you calmed yourself so we may go back to the village? Or would you like to end this in a more final way?" he would ask, giving his confused ally an ultimatum. He didn't think Kenji would refuse to let the misunderstanding go, but chances are Kenji wouldn't like Yami much more after this mission. Yami would just continue to smile disarmingly. He could assist Kenji out of the hole, but it would take some effort.

As Kenji brought back his puppet and spoke his warning, he realized one simple thing. The bandits were all dead and Yami was the only one standing there, now facing him with a creepy smile and open arms, as if he was intending to give the lazy shinobi a hug despite the distance. Kenji looked around at the bandits, noting the sensory bandit couldn't react to the sudden change of attack in time and was currently bleeding out quickly on the ground with a giant hole in his chest.

Besides Yami laid the body of Sota, the 10 senbon he launched at the leader embedded in the man's stomach but a second wound appeared from his throat that seemed to the finishing blow and lastly was the bandit Kenji had left alone that had somehow lost his head amidst the brief battle. If one could even call this a battle considering it was over in little as 2 moves from Kenji and 2 moves from his currently questionable ally.

"Your plans suck." Kenji would simply mutter as he lowered his hands and set his puppet down, deciding this was part of the mad man's crazy horse ride of a plan. "Maybe next time you decide to punch me silly and throw me in a 3 on 2 battle without my puppet, you could give me a bit of a warning?" Kenji mockingly asked his companion, clearly annoyed as he approached his puppet and knelt down beside it and removed his holster.

Placing the holster on the ground, Kenji moved to retrieve ink he kept in his pocket... That was now currently thrown somewhere around this bandit camp as he realized the snake's head must've been around his pocket and it went flying with the creepy slithering demon from hell. This was a bad day. A very bad day. With a sigh Kenji only reached for his interior pocket and grabbed another candy stick, placing it in his mouth and focusing on the cherry flavor in his mouth.

"Do you have any ink? I seem to have thrown my ink away with your snake during this confusing mess." Kenji would ask and explain why he was currently missing his ink that he uses to reseal Lingchi when he was done with it.

It seemed that Yami's counter measures wouldn't need to come down to trapping his ally into a pit full of snakes. A shame. At least their relationship wouldn't become more complicated however. Kenji made a fair point though- Yami should have given him a bit more of an explanation, but where was the fun in that? The threat was ended and Kenji had begun the recovery process of his deadly tool, the puppet. An effective weapon, though Yami had to admit that it left too much evidence and could require a bit of time in recovery. Possible with higher skills, Kenji could reduce those negative traits.

Curiosity overtook Yami as Kenji began to start searching. Had he lost the needles embedded into Sota's belly. Even before Kenji asked for help looking for the ink, Yami assumed Kenji was looking for the needles and had knelt over Sota's corpse and began to pluck the needles from the corpse' belly. "Oh uh... I found your senbon.." he would say and then began to look around the grass for this random ink that Kenji needed for his puppets. After a couple of seconds, one of his snakes had found the ink- likely the same snake that Kenji had thrown away out of panic. "it's here by my snake. Feel free to pick it up!" he would say encouragingly and smile his awkward smile. Their mission was all but done, they just needed to go back to the village and report tot he village, their good "deeds".

Kenji only stared at Yami with a blank expression as the snake declared he "found" Kenji's senbon, plucking them out of the bandit leader's stomach. Kenji only sighed and told himself it was the thought that counts, so standing back up, Kenji retrieved the senbon from the snake, placing them in a pouch of his Flak jacket for now. "Thanks." Kenji would tell his creepy companion as the two looked for the ink he had thrown.

The snake found it first, right besides one of his own snakes and he encouraged Kenji to grab it with an unsettling smile. Kenji quickly debated rather he should go and risk grabbing his ink from the snake or just carry Lingchi back. The bruise on his stomach however probably wouldn't really like having the weight on his back so with another sigh Kenji slowly made his way to the snake. He wanted to just go home and sleep... After getting some ice for his stomach. And maybe drink some golden flower tea. That would be nice.

Nearing the snake, Kenji eyed the actual snake carefully, he wasn't sure what his creepy companion was planning but he knew one thing was certain, whatever it was, it was going to suck. With one swift move Kenji snatched his ink and held it close to his chest, his eye still on the snake in case it tried to do something. Stupid demon from hell. Assuming nothing happened, Kenji would walk back to his holster and paint the seal for Lingchi once more, the stupid thing ended up getting smudged once Yami threw him on the ground.

Performing the hand seals, there was another puff of smoke and the puppet was gone, allowing the one eyed shinobi to put his holster back on and stand up before turning his attention to his snake companion. "Well, seems like we did enough for this scouting mission. Let's get back, I want to sleep." Kenji told the snake and begun walking forward, expecting the snake to follow him back to the village.
