Appearance:Kenji best described as lanky due to his tall yet slender form, his muscles are toned yet small and not entirely noticeable underneath his choice of attire. He has jet black hair that is left unkempt and gives him a serious case of bed head and despite all the sleep he does he has bags underneath his silver eye, giving people an impression that he's tired. It doesn't help that he is almost always seen slouched over with his hands in his pockets.

As for his clothing, Kenji wears a short sleeved black jacket that leaves open most time, during colder times he puts on a shirt but most of the time he doesn't wear a shirt underneath and instead allows his muscles to be shown off out of sheer laziness of putting on a shirt. Besides that, he wears a plain black pants and combat boots since he really isn't one for style.

His lack of style doesn't mean he doesn't have any accessories and the eye catcher of course is the eye patch he always wears, a simple black one that wraps around his head, it doesn't have any purpose than to cover the small scar from where he eye once was. Aside from that, he is almost always seen with a candy stick in his mouth that is basically counts as an accessory, they're plain white sticks that slowly dissolves and leaves an almost cherry taste in the mouth as it does so. He always has a pack on him, safely stored in his jacket's interior pocket and they can easily be mistaken for cigarettes however if one doesn't really pay attention to them. And finally, his head band that he wears loosely around his neck.

Personality: The first thing people will notice about Kenji is his lazy and carefree attitude, he is almost always sleeping or trying to relax during his free time and tends to just go with the flow of things when things go down, not really caring too much about what others may think.

The second thing people will notice about Kenji is either his joking or flirty side, half of the time even he isn't sure if he's joking or flirting. He greatly enjoys puns and "dad" jokes, actual comedic sense be damned and it translates well into his flirting as he often makes flirtatious jokes or even just compliments people for no real reason other than to get a reaction from people.

However, even with his laid back and friendly behavior, he actually doesn't really want to form any strong bonds with anyone and instead keeps everyone at a distance from his own emotional problems with jokes and he will push people away by joking about serious topics for them if needed. He is terrified of losing anyone else close to him anymore and that leads to him being blindly loyal to those he considers a close friend, willing to even turn the eye toward illegal activities for his friends.

His fighting style is used mainly because he doesn't really care if he lives or dies, so he is always in his enemies face swinging his weapon in quick swipes that aren't too deadly by their own, but Kenji uses the death by paper cuts strategy and prefers to wear his enemy down through those quick swipes. Some of the danger is removed by using his puppets in this manner, but his tactic always remains the same, even if he only has his bare fist he prefers being up close and fighting this way.

History: Born to Renjiro and Emiko Haruka, Kenji lived a peaceful life in the family's small home among the jungle. Growing up, Kenji helped with the many chores to ensure the family had food and water, living away from most of society came with a few struggles, mainly having other people besides his parents around so he always made the best of it when people were passing by, there he learned how much he loved to make jokes and make people laugh or even groan after telling a bad joke. If it made him or someone else laugh, it was good enough for him.

His father, Renjiro, was a mercenary before he settled down and decided to train Kenji in the way of the sword when he reached the age of 13. The two would use wooden swords and duel each other almost everyday and every time his father would knock him down but Kenji would get back with renewed determination to not fall back down. Of course being a small skinny teenager without nearly as much experience as his father, Kenji would also fall back down anyways, but still he kept getting back with his same old determination to not do so.

That determination would finally be broken with the death of his parents and the lost of his eye to bandits, his only saving grace being a passing shinobi from the moon village, Mamoru Hiroshi who brought the young injured boy to his village where he adopted him. Being 13 years old without an eye and a whole new village, Kenji just shut down and didn't try to get close to anyone, instead sleeping away the days and wanting his parents back. It took him a year to finally start to get close to the man who was kind enough to take him in, but as if fate was playing a cruel trick on him, Mamoru was one day sent on a mission and never returned.

That only made him shut down even more, but also laugh at the sickening irony that he was only now opening up before he was taken away. He stopped caring about anyone and trying to make any bonds, instead he just joked around with everything since he felt the world was just a cruel joke at his dispense. It was around this time he decided to finally try and become a shinobi, see if he could do something in this world that would make a difference like Mamoru did for him.

During his time in academy, Kenji was still lazy and carefree but he got the work needed to just barely pass by, but the one thing he did enjoy doing and put all his effort into was puppetry. It was the perfect weapon for someone as lazy as he was, all he really had to do was sit there and wiggle his fingers while his puppet did all the hard work, though of course he did learn some small improvements to his swordsmanship in honour of his late father.

Now, a freshly crowned Genin, Kenji is ready to see where life as a shinobi for the moon village will take him.
