Silk Sand Animal Control [Group Mission] Empty Silk Sand Animal Control [Group Mission]

    Spoiler:

Letony hurried through throngs of villagers as he rushed hastily to begin a new assignment. His cloak would float along the wind behind him as he traveled, the inertia of his movement enough to send the black cloak cascading backwards. The same could be said for the red sash that drifted behind him, tied along the waist. His face was beneath the gloom of his white jacket, his forehead protector obscured under the darkness. What was the rush? Nothing in particular, Letony just saw fit to make it to his destination hopefully, a few minutes early. He wanted to make sure he had enough time for a short smoke break. Of course, the throngs and masses of civilians annoyed Letony to a great extent, however he’d do his best to avoid every one of them as he snakes down his given path toward the village gates. He was now at The Strip, noticing all the restaurants and open gambling halls bustling with bundles of people drifting close together. It was illuminated with an assortment of lighting arrays to draw attention from travelers and tourists. People lined up at the entrances at gambling halls, making light conversation which generated a low roar upon Letony’s approach. It was just loud enough to be annoying to Letony, as it signified the presence of many people. In the shadows of the enthusiastic throngs, there seemed to be no illegal activities. Letony thought this must have had something to do with an old mission he fulfilled here a while back. He cracked down on some illegal gambling taking place in the alleyways of one of the gambling halls. A brutal display of justice occurring. He had no time for that today, however and would proceed to the village gates, his destination all along.

Along the way Letony stopped to greet a few smoking travelers posted outside an Inn with the goal of getting a cigarette. It was hard for the fifteen year old to buy such things so, he needed to always ask. It was fine however, and they granted him a few to take along. His demeanor made him seem older when he encountered most people. And so, Letony would arrive at the gates already smoking the cigarette. Apparently it had been lit before he arrived. Now taking a drag the man would post along the inside of the gates and await his partner. On this mission they would be subduing a wild beast, and ensuring said creature could wreak havoc on the Silk Sand Coast region, no more.

The hammering sounds of working villagers, distant chatter, along with the joyful laugh of children playing on the streets below had provided a cadence of serenity for the meditating Shinobi. Wearing a satin black Kimono which rested over his shoulder, split open down the middle, he sat crosslegged over the Nikkoukage HQ, which overlooked the entirety village. Usually he had spent most of his hours, especially during meditation, sprawling across the forest; the sounds of nature easing the conflicts of a heavy heart, and shadowed mind. The village, however, possessed a completely different aura to it, one which brought moments of personal reflection, memories of old, and a level of spiritual connection he had failed to attain alone in the wild, silence in noise, peace within a sea of chaos.

He took several extra moments to take in the scene around him, inhaling deeply as he looked over the sandy and rocky plain that had surrounded the village, the suns blazing gaze creeping from behind a single cloud, exhaling as he looked across the moving bodies below. He had been assigned a mission, notified before the light of dawn, but had decided to take the scenic route, which directly led to the meditative state high above he found himself. Sluggishly he pulled himself to his feet, slipping into his pair of Zori's, dusting off his black harem slacks, before grabbing his ninja bag, pulling what appeared to be a small cigar and strapping it over his back. He took a moment once more to embrace the energy around him, longing to stay within his escape, before letting out a deep sigh, bringing the cigarillo to his mouth before jumping off the side of the building.

Kensei's unruly spiky black hair danced along behind him as he darted forward, pacing steadily over the tiled rooftops, his eyes set on the western gates which lead to the silk coast. The mission scroll he had received earlier had suggested his partner to be a young and bright Genin he hadn't yet met, who would wait along the insides of the gates. Although he had found solace moments before, as he itched closer to the gates he felt the sense of excitement creeping and growing inside of him. As he approached the Gate he slighted nodded in the direction of the guards as they acknowledged him in return. Flicking the roach of the cig to the side he surveyed the area for his partner, spotting the black cloaked/white jacket wearing ninja resting along the wall. Ken paused for a moment, wondering if the man before him was the young shinobi described in the scroll. This guy doesn't look fifteen does he? He asked to himself, before realizing he himself had often been mistaken for a grown man. Sporting a short smile he approached the young shinobi, extending his hand forward to greet him once in close proximity.
"Pleased to meet you. I am Kensei, am I wrong to presume we'll be working together today? Glorified exterminators or something?"
He rolled his eyes before letting out a short chuckle. "It'll be an honor working with you for the betterment of our village. Since I appear to be a bit late why don't you take point and ill defer to you along the way." He hadn't travelled to the coast in a while, and had an urge traverse along those roads, the prospect of seeing his new partner in action only further enticed him. He seems formidable, I wonder what he has up his sleeves."

Letting out a drag, and flicking the butt of the cigarette off into the distance; Letony watched who he presumed to be his partner approaching. After all the missions he’d completed, it was always an interesting occurrence to see who his partner, or partners would be. The man appeared to be smiling as he approached, a kind hand gesture sent out to greet the now astute, Letony. Letony’s gaze fell upon the man, surveying his face. His hair seemed to be rather spikey, and floated along in the wind, as he moved toward Letony. Following the man’s speech, Letony responded with no real sign of emotion, just a disgruntled crinkle in his eyebrows, “Yea, if you’re supposed to tame this animal with me. I guess we are glorified exterminators.” The boy, Letony extended his hand in return, and gave the man a brief shake. He allowed the cheerful man to continue talking until the completion of his words. ‘Me take point?’ Letony wondered. It wasn’t often that he took point in any missions, considering his lower rank. “Fine, I’ll take point. But before that,” he paused a moment, “I go by Letony, Konowari. It’s only appropriate we know each other’s names, right?”

After he implied his question, Letony would turn towards the exit of the gates to begin their journey, “Well, I guess we better get going. No telling what type of damage that thing’s causing. Hopefully this won’t be too troublesome, but I have a bad feeling about this. For some odd reason,” it was uncanny for Letony to communicate so much, but he seemed prepared for the leadership role. Although, he did wonder about the man that greeted him. 'What was he truly like? How could he be of assistance on their mission? What rank did the man possess?' Many questions floated through the mind of Letony as he led the two past the gate, and it's guards. Letony not even bothering to take notice of them, and instead watching his partner from the corner of his eye the entire time.
