Searching for the Criminal [Eliminate the Target]

Ami had only been in the sun village for a couple of weeks, doing missions with sun shinobi which was refreshing for her. She enjoyed doing missions with Jayy and Karite in Gekkousato, but she seemed to find it difficult to find anyone else to do missions with. Since arriving in the Sun village, she had met lots of people and had learned a lot about them in the process of doing interactive missions. The girl was excited to take another collaborative one, wanting the ties between the two villages close and friendly. Of course, she had gained the approval from the other village, as she roamed the streets, still trying to get used to the extreme weather and temperature difference.

She made her way to the prison, which was difficult for her to find. She had to ask one of the village guards for help, showing him the mission scroll and being slightly embarrassed that she didn't have better bearings of the village. Ami would follow the guard to the building close to the prison, where she had been told that her partner would be there waiting for her. A little annoyed that she was late for the meeting time, she would hope that the other person hadn't been waiting for too long. She disliked people with loose time management and tardiness, and she hated to not lead by example.

The girl would notice a man sitting on the roof, notice his presence before actually seeing him. From what she could tell he was wearing a hakama, a choice of clothing that she was not used to seeing on shinobi. She was wearing a short black dress herself, her katana sheathed underneath a red silk sash around her waist. Her green hair was tied back into a ponytail with a red ribbon. She would look up at him, hoping that he would sense her arrival and come down to meet her. "Hyuuga Ami, nice to meet you." she would call to the man, a simple introduction that didn't give the other too much information. If he wanted to know anything, she would share though, keeping little secrets.

Ami was slightly taken aback at how...warm and friendly Arashi was, contrary to his appearance. The young Hyuuga would give him an equally friendly smile as she listened to him speak. So, he at least had some knowledge of her clan, which was unusual since she guessed that he was not from Gekkousato. "I'm glad you have heard about my clan, at least. Not many people from this village has." she would grin a little, trying to lessen the awkwardness. She wasn't the best at starting conversations and being less awkward even though she considered herself to be friendly.

"Byakugan.." she muttered underneath her breath, her vision instantly transitioning to reflect that of her kekkei gekkai. She would follow Arashi as he began to walk, wondering just what kind of target they would be encountering today. She only knew that whoever it was would not be a shinobi, as per the mission scroll. But all other knowledge would remain unknown. The two of them would walk past the prison, with Amu unsure of how far they would go until the target would show up. Her eyes would scan the area though, always on guard.

Ami had noticed the cart and its guards, and was equally mystified by its presence. She silently applauded Arashi for noticing it too, in fact, it seemed that he had noticed it before she did. A keen observer, she thought to herself. It was indeed strange, among other things, to see a cart with people who didn't look like shinobi guarding it. The road the group took was also not any mainstream road and putting the pieces together she agreed with Arashi. From what she could see there were only three guards, and although they seemed alert, something told her they weren't very skilled guards. Still, she would be careful, as not to expose them too quickly. She listened to Arashi's words and nodded her head, putting her hand out to stop him from moving though.

"I think they're not the brightest but we should still be careful." she whispered to the young man. "Let's just follow them from a distance first and then we can attack when we're sure. Don't want to be killing any innocent people." Her eyes darted from left to right, looking for any sign that would indicate if the people there were indeed the targets that Ami was looking for. She stood still, watching from a distance. If these people were their targets, it would be easy enough for both of them to take them on. She would wait for the cart and the people to keep moving. The Hyuuga wanted to know what was inside the cart though, so after a few minutes of watching, she would signal to Arashi. "How about you create a diversion and I'll go search the cart?"

The girl would be a little surprised that Arashi agreed to create the diversion. She had expected him not to, strictly because it was difficult to be a distraction to strangers whose abilities and capabilities were unknown. She watched from where she was, her eyes traveling to the strangers and then back to Arashi. She assessed the situation, and found it quite amusing when the man grabbed the water bottle from one of the strangers and began running away with it. Ami had definitely not been expecting that. But she was glad that he had chosen such a risky move, for all of the men would follow Arashi, their obsession with having their water bottles taken quite evident. Perhaps it was because of the desert...she thought to herself semi-amused.

And then she remembered the reason behind the distraction. The Hyuuga would dash forward, out of her hiding place and head towards the big cart. Her footsteps light, she was cautious as she neared. Not knowing what to expect, she secretly hoped that Arashi was still faring alright with the three guards hot on his trail. Ami jumped onto the cart, her hand pushing open the cover to inspect its contents. It would prove not what she had expected and not what she would like. As she opened the cover, the girl could see a glistening light, a blade against the sun's rays. It was an ambush! She remembered the last time she was ambushed and shuddered, her hand slipping into her weapon pouch and taking out two shuriken as she jumped off the cart. A small man would emerge from the cart, holding a tanto. From his build to the way he was holding his weapon, he didn't seem like too dangerous of an opponent. The girl would look around her, noticing that Arashi had not yet returned. Ami guessed that it was only going to be her against this little man and a smirk appeared on her face.

The little guy had agility and speed, she gave him that much credit as he ran towards her. She immediately noticed how fast his legs were, something you often did it see in opponents. It probably made up for his poor swordsmanship, her hand slipping once more into her weapon pouch to grab a kunai. Although Ami had a sword, she wanted to get up close and personal with her attacks, something that a small sized weapon like a kunai could easily accomplish. And just by looking at her opponent she guessed that it would be easier to overcome him the closer she got to him. "Byakugan..." she mittered under breath, the veins around her eyes appearing and her vision changed. The colored surroundings were replaced with the usual black and grey, save for the chakra system of her opponent.

The man would bring his sword up and then quickly down, jumping as he came close. A standard attack that was miscalculated on his part. She raised her kunai hand, the metal clashing with metal of his blade as she blocked. He tried to bring his weight down on the attack. With her vacant hand, she felt for the hilt of her katana. While she was holding his blade's attack she unsheathed her own sword, her left hand bringing the sword horizontally to his torso for an attack. Perhaps he hadn't expected her to counter and attack in one go, immediately retracting to avoid taking damage. The blade only managed to cut his shirt it seemed. He pulled away, distancing himself from her to around three meters apart.
