Digging Water [Solo Mission] Empty Digging Water [Solo Mission]

Post by Guest Tue Jun 16, 2020 12:11 pm

The day would start off, as usual, the night sky still painted a dazzling blue on a sheet of ever-expanding black. The sun visible on the horizons of desert dunes as nothing but a red dot and a growing orange line. This was the best time to travel in Shizuka’s opinion. There was enough light to see, not too cold and if it was the rising sun would soon warm them. If it could be helped they’d arrive at their destination before noon so they would be under shade once more.

Today however there were no prospects of such. Even if they arrived early they’d eventually be out in the sun. Their project was to gather information of the land and specifically to find and underground water source. It was the trio once more, snaking behind one another as the lead found sure footing in the shifting sea of sand. Their destination was their last marked location, perhaps 2 hours out if they hurried. It would be optimal hours to check for waters.

They’d arrive at their mark and quickly got to work. Shizuka stood guard, sensing for any life sources in her area. It served both as security as well as helping the water finder where the fauna was gathering. The finder would pull out his tools checking his readings from the day before. Lastly one would be hauling the multitude of cases and bags holding the equipment.

They would travel further on in search of water. Why was it so important? Apart from drinking water being gold in the desert of course. An underground water source could mean the potential for the fertile land. The village could terraform the desolation as habitable areas. Outposts could be built on top as resources for the village. Hidden spots could be valuable in times of war. War, after all, was all about resources and in the desert, water was worth more than gold.

5 hours into the day and they had stopped 3 times each time they would set up and wait for test results. Eventually, the finder would smirk, standing up triumphantly. For the first time, the grumpy grouch looked happy as he looked at his two partners. Anticipation filled the two, hoping that they’d struck blue. They both knew they had but there was always the inkling feeling of doubt and they just wanted to hear him say it.

“We got water.” The confirmation would be met with joy, high fives being exchanged between the squad. Their days of sweating and searching had finally paid off. “It’s deep down but it’s sizable.”

Shizuka’s next job was to now go back to the village and report their findings. The finder and his assistant would stay behind and secure the place. They’d survey the land for possible blueprints, if they could place an outpost or farming community. All of this would be estimates of course, until more engineers and experts arrived they wouldn’t know for sure.

Shizuka would move quickly back taking just over an hour. Without having to slow down with pack carrying people the kunoichi could cover distance very quickly. She could have done it under an hour if the sun wasn’t up. Something about her ghostly nature just made her more fond of the night. It wasn’t that she hated the sun she just preferred not to have her skin blasted with heat rays.

She’d soon arrive and explain her findings. Then in an hour or two, a full expedition team was ready to deploy. They had all sorts of equipment some sealed away into scrolls because of how big they were. These people would be led by Imino to the marked location. When they arrived they begin to employ tools and jutsu to dig a deep well down into the ground.

Sure enough, they’d find water, clean, fresh, and flowing.
