It had been a few weeks since the missing children cases had been something Sojiro had been investigated. Since then, he had done his best to get it drawn to the attention of the other people and shinobi around him, even getting his friends from the moon village involved. Despite his poor attempts to try and find these children as they were going missing, there was nothing that he could do. Despite the reports that he followed, as fresh as they could be, or any 'secret' information he could get from the people in the slums. Sojiro had tried a variety of different ways to try and investigate the missing children and he had begun to only think a few things could be true. Either a secret group had infiltrated the village, and the Kage was unaware. If that was the case, then he needed to try and find actual proof to present. Because they needed to be stopped. Or, worse. The only other option was that the Kage and the Village were involved with everything going on. If that was the case, then things were going to only get much worse for the village before it gets better. And that was hoping it could recover from something like that.
These thoughts had kept him up some nights; like maybe he was getting closer to some type of secret that he should have been keeping secret. Tonight was one of those nights, as he was sitting up in his room and looking at the scattered reports of the missing children. There was a series of unofficial posters that were on the table in front of him and only half the amount of official posters placed by the village. There was something that he was missing here, this can't be something that has been going on for forever... Otherwise, how has no one noticed before?.. That thought process fed to the idea that maybe the village was involved and anyone who gets too involved disappears... Or joins them. As the man sat upright in his bed, looking at the table, he would shudder at the idea. The man was acting paranoid, not turning on the lights at all in his form but just using the moonlight to see the documents.
He felt like the faces of the children were staring into the depths of his soul and he was not a fan, actually... He was far from a fan, actually. The man was upset that he was letting such a small event get to him, why did all of these children matter? Sojiro grunted as Auggie would come over, yawning as he did. Sojiro would start to rub the rabbit's stomach, letting out a soft breath as he looked at all of the posters. Man, there was no way that he was going to sleep like this. With a grunt, he would grab the pillow and blanket off of his bed and head downstairs. As he slipped down the stairs, he would move onto the first floor and into the living room. The male would plop down onto the couch, pulling the pillow under his head and getting as comfortable as he could underneath the blankets. Once he was done with that, Auggie would come to lay on his chest and the two of them would relax together, as the man would try and fall asleep. Despite the change in scenery and moving away from the posters of the children, it was nearly impossible to get the thoughts out of his head.
"Goddammit Auggie, no matter what I do, I can't think of what to do... I'll have to ask for more help from someone."
