Zangetsu is a lean, pale skinned man in his late teens. He has straight white hair that moves pasts his ears and possesses sharp, shark-like teeth that strangely enough, grow back like one. Bandages are wrapped loosely around his neck, tightened around his face when used for concealment or filtration. Oz wears a black sleeveless shirt, light purple pants,leg warmers, black sandals and has a dark brown belt. Strapped to the belt is a bottle that use to belong to one of his parents which he always fills with water to keep constantly hydrated.

Personality: Zangetsu can be described as aggressive, stern, and cold, a direct result of his upbringing. His most prominent trait is his ambitiousness. In fact, in order to reach his intended goals, hes not above suppressing his violent nature. Because Oz grew up around criminals, he has a natural distrust of the people around him and can be at times cynical. The only times he seems to be at peace is when hes around bodies of water or when its raining. He doesn't quite understand why though, but its most likely due to his clan's affinity for Water Release (水遁)
The young man puts value in very little, save a great respect for strength, so much so that his only desire in life is to be the strongest in the world so he can make his family proud. He can be very critical of people, especially if he views them as weak. However, this condemnatory attitude extends to himself as well as he despises any infirmity he finds in himself. Oz views himself ultimately as a tool that needs to be refined before it can return to its masters.
Due to his strict raising and isolation from most of the outside world, the shinobi is very ignorant of many things like proper etiquette, objects and concepts. This was made clear to him when he arrived in Gekkousato and was given food to eat, his first instinct was to use his hands instead of the chopsticks provided to consume noodles. Even after a year in the village, he still has trouble using them or even remembering to.

History: In the Spine of the World, Zangetsu was raised by gangs of the criminal Underworld for as far back as he could remember. If his parents were among them, they didn't bother to make themselves known. Zangetsu didn't bother to ask though, as far as he was concerned, his family consisted of the members of the syndicate. From the moment he was able to lift a sword, he went through rigorous training to join their ranks. Often he would be tossed into the wilderness to survive for weeks on end. Initially, he'd be surviving mostly by hiding away, but as time progressed, he grew strong enough to fend off newborn creatures with intense Killing Intent alone. When he reached the age of 10, he was given an old bottle with a nearly faded "32 Oz" written in large around it. The bottle presumably belonged to one of his parents. He unsurprisingly wasn't attached to it for sentimental reasons, but he kept it anyways as something to keep himself hydrated.
Gruesome training day in and out turned a young happy Zangetsu into hardened warrior who views himself as nothing but a weapon. Given no other purpose than to get stronger, Zangetsu would push himself constantly towards this endless goal, using various tricks of the trade of his mobster brethren. Deft hands hands, swift thinking, and a ruthless disposition helped him survive the rigors of various bounty hunter invasions. Nearing the day of his 18th birthday, Oz's adoptive family was broken apart by a traitor in their ranks, ambushing them with hordes of shinobi bounty hunters and military forces. Despite fighting with everything he had, he stood no chance against the numerous older and more skilled shinobi of the outside world.
Humiliated and captured, Oz and his surviving cohorts awaited imprisonment or even death while traveling on the ships of the bounty hunters. However, call it divine providence or luck, they were not fated to be taken in just yet. Weeks into their travel of the Open Ocean, a great storm rolled in and managed to capsize the ships they were on. The intensity of the waves were too much for Zangetsu to bear and he was swept away, separated from both his family and his captors.
Somehow, the boy managed not to drown or be eaten by creatures of the deep, being rescued by inhabitants of the Moon Village as his body wound up in the rivers leading to Moonlit Grove. They managed to nurse his body back to health, but trauma of the events left him unable to remember much of what happened or even much of his past, his own name included. People began to mistakenly call him Oz, assuming that was his name from the old and faded letters on his water bottle he always drank from, the 32 no longer visible. By the time he remembered his actual name, he became accustomed to his new one and decided for "Oz" to be his nickname.
Still piecing together his history, Zangetsu became a shinobi of Gekkousato with one intent that he does remember, become the strongest for his family. One day he will find them and return home together to the Spine of the World.
