"For better or worse; I got you!"

He had to recall one of those times where he had gone to the outskirts of the village during the season of the festival. There were not a lot of things to be seen but the infinite expanse of desert and some rock formations. Shade was far in between with nothing and the creatures were on their daily hunt. The beaming sunlight and the roaming clouds of dust and grains would sweep across as if they themselves were on patrol. Nothing was really speaking a conversation but the whistling winds that would scratch the bits of sand that was trapped between desert stone.

Hikari used these things as his guide. A simple Hare Hand would not be enough today. His eyes were sealed shut but his ears were vigilant as they would twitch . The small bits of wind that would whistle into them would be diluted before Hikari would finally stop and try to resist the breeze that threatened to blind him completely. His arms would weave around his body, carefully, he would stand still for a moment hoping that it would pass like a horrid little sound that was careening towards him.

“One step at a time, young bunny!” The soft plush of the brown furry hand would comfort Hikari, “Not even your Grandmother herself could simply ignore these winds when guarding the perimeter of the Usagi Clan’s settlement.” The brown rabbit by his side would give a gentle tug of the young lilac haired boy’s hand. The fortunate for him that she was there to guide him away from the untamed sands that were giving him little messages on where he was. She would guide him from the hot sea and onto more hard and tough terrain that would allow for him to be supported. His eyes opening slightly as he no longer felt the winds battering him.

“T-Thank you, Mirah-sama!” Hikari’s voice was soft as he would lean against the stone. “I am sorry if we have found no trace of it, but I am sure I know what I heard.” As Hikari would speak, he could hear the sound of shuffling into the pouch beside him. The furry hands eventually pulling out a small towel that would be used to brush at the boy’s skin. Her own fur would be patted accordingly before she would lift her head to look upon the boy with worrying eyes.

“Never mind me little bunny,” she would insist, “What you saw that priority! Are you sure? The sound of chirping birds? The movement like a shadow, but twice as silent? Not to mention a ferociousness like a beast that was not a hare?” The woman would relay the description from what she had been hearing. There was a reported animal in the desert that was wandering around Sun Village. His grandmother had sent him to investigate many times over. However, Hikari had seen nothing of it or heard anything. They were just odd little stories that were rolling around the desert similar to the myth that was being chased by the Usagi.

“Yes.” Hikari would relay. “But why is Grandmother so concerned about such a thing?" The Sun Village is not our concern, or so she would say, yes?” Hikari would ask but Mirah would not give an absolute answer. Her head would simply lower as if she was drifting off. Her thoughts racked with concern as her maw would remain shut. With a reach of her furry hand once again, pulling forth the young rabbit into the desert; she would continue. Her eyes narrowed as she would guide Hikari along the territory.

“Young bunny,” the little red bunny would speak with a hint of urgency in her voice, “Some stories that were spoken around the campfire? They were not just stories. Some of them were legends. One of them may still be alive in these sands for us to find.” Hikari was led around blind in both eyes and in mind by the summon as he finished his patrol. He yielded not a legend, but only a mystery.
