Exam Round 2 (A-Rank)

So she had made it...

Ami was led blindfolded to the next round of the exams. She had no idea what she was in for, the warmth of the sun against her face being the only clue that it was going to be outdoors. As she was led to some mysterious spot, the girl wondered what kind of test would be awaiting her. It simply felt good to be out of that locked room, remembering the original panic she had had when she found herself stuck and the only way to get out was through a code. The Hyuuga was never quite good with codes or quizzes, so it amazed her that she had managed to get it correct. There had been no conversation, no clue from anyone, just that she had been blindfolded and was to be taken somewhere. Even the person that was taking her there was unknown to her, her mind slightly more anxious the more she was kept in the dark.

It would be a good moment before the cloth was finally removed from her eyes, her eyelids flickering and opening to the first sign of sunlight. Her eyes adjusted, perhaps a little quicker than normal people because she had no pupils, the trait of the Byakugan. Ami would look around her to find a flag beside her, and that she was standing on a sand pit, seemingly by herself. Although unsettling, she would quickly look around her, taking in the forest of trees, the bridge that was some way in front of her and the sound of a running river. The objective wasn't clear to the girl at first, but she guessed that it would become clear. She looked at the flag again, and then at her surroundings. Was she supposed to fight something or someone? From where she stood she could see no one, and the idea became more unsettling to her as she stood there waiting.

It was then that she would be given the instructions for the exam and her heart raced. It was like a game and yet not like one at the same time. She was told she would have one opponent and that in the distance, on the other side of the battlefield was another flag, that belonged to the person. The objective was for her to take the flag back to her side of the field while trying to protect her own flag from being taken. So a battle it was...for a flag, she thought to herself, the person who had relieved her of the blindfold would then leave the field. It seemed like such a simple task but so difficult at the same time. Her eyes darted back and forth between the field before her and her flag, thinking of a strategy. She guessed that it was not going to be easy, her eyes narrowing to try to see if she could catch who her opponent was going to be.

From where she was standing she would see just a faint glimpse of her opponent, nothing beyond a figure that stood beside their flag. She would catch a glimpse of blonde short hair, indicating that her opponent was a man, which was fine to her. What worried her the most was that she knew nothing about this person, having never met someone with blonde hair before, she automatically knew that he was not an acquaintance, and judging from the nature of the second round, this was not going to be an easy ride, even though the game of capture the flag seemed easy enough. Ami stood where she was, her eyes locked onto the figure, as though waiting for him to make a move. She was more of the passive and observant type, not willing herself to make a move until her opponent did, although it meant that nmost of the time she was dealt a weaker hand.

As she was still pondering, she would watch as the man moved, seemingly to close the distance between them. The whole eight meters he had come forward meant that he was much more visible and clear to her than before, her eyes taking in his form. Ami wasn't sure what she should do, even as she would see his hands come together as though to form handseals. The girl would see that another replica of the man would appear beside him, and both figures would be standing by the edge of the wooden bridge, waiting for her, she assumed. The wooden bridge was an important connection that if they crossed it would give them entry into her part of the territory, which meant that she would be stuck on the defense to guard her own flag from being taken. If she could somehow stop them from getting across, while crossing herself, perhaps she could gain the upper hand.

The pink haired girl wouldn't move as she performed the handseals to a jutsu, a heavy mist forming over the battlefield. She immediately activated her Byakugan, so that she could see the chakra system of her opponent despite the mist. She would run forward six meters, stopping two meters short from the edge of the wooden bridge as she waited. Combined with the six meter length of the bridge gave her enough to attack while she stood there, remembering from memory where the clone had stood before she had performed her jutsu. The girl would surround both her arms with wind chakra, and directed a slash of wind towards the clone, deliberately saving the other two for later. Not used to being the first to attack, she had no choice, given so much was unknown.

Ami had not expected that the clone would be hit by her wind slash, and so when her attack connected, she was actually surprised. But what came after would be the most surprising, as the clone turned into hot...lava? She wasn't exactly sure now, but knew that whatever it had dispersed into was now coursing along half of the bridge. She wondered if there was a way that she could get to the other side of the bridge before it burned down. But using the wooden bridge was probably not the best idea, unless she could get across without actually stepping on it. She weighed her options, her eyes narrowing to catch if Kamak would move based on his chakra system. When she couldn't see his chakra move, she assumed that he was not going to deliver an attack to her just yet, she would have some time to plan out her next move.

The Hyuuga had wanted to continue with an attack but because she knew very little about Kamak, she dared not make a bold move. Instead, she looked around her, the mist now setting in. From what she remembered, she had five meters to go between either stone bridges, and since stone was stronger than wood, it meant that even if the man got to the bridge before her and tried to blow it up the way that he had been trying just now, he would have a hard time. Before moving, the girl would charge her second wind slashes towards her opponent, to create a diversion while she chose which way she wanted to go. Ami, who was now still two meters why from the wooden bridge would change her course, veering to the left and running towards the stone bridge, the five meters it would take to reach it and then the extra two meters so that she now stood on the edge of her side of the bridge.
