At least there was no dead body this time around, Ami thought to herself quietly as she headed to the residential areas of her village. She rarely came to these parts, grtting a strange vibe whenever she came...the vibe of reach people living in lavishly decorated houses and front lawns bigger than soccer fields. It just wasnt a place she was comfortable with. Although the Hyuuga clan had a big name in the shinobi ranks, their compound paled in comparison to some of the houses here. And the girl wouldn't even have come, if she hadn't decided to pay a visit to two of the families of the bodies that they found. One of them was a young lawyer, a newlywed, and another a wealthy doctor who owned his own clinic. Both of their bodies had been found with the signature A painted on them. She wanted to know as much as she could about the deceased.
Her first call would be to the lawyer, by the name of Nakagawa Keisuke. From what she gathered, he was a man in his early 30s and had recently opened his own chamber as a prosecutor. He ass quite famous around the village, being one of the youngest independent prosecutors. The people who knew him all said he was nice enough, although he was a bit ruthless in court. It was to be expected after all. He often frequented bars and hostess clubs, spending most of his hard earned cash on alcohol and fun times with young women. His wife was a homemaker, her beauty also renowned around the village. Before marrying, she had worked as an executive assistant to a CEO of a publishing company. On the surface the couple was blissfully married and they would sometimes be seen together at dinner parties around town.
Which begged the question, why did Keisuke have to frequent hostess bars with such a beautiful wife and wonderful marriage?
Ami made her way through the gates of the Nakagawa estate, admiring the wonderfully kept front lawn with beautiful red roses in very organized patches. The house itself was massive, with three storeys and too many windows to count. The house was painted a cream colour. In the garage were several expensive cars, all beautifully polished and washed. This family had a thing for cleanliness, the kunoichi thought to herself. A servant greeted her at the door, ushering her into a comfortable but spacious living room. It had three sofas, a home theatre like TV and projector and a warm and cozy fireplace. The servant told her that her lady would be down to see Ami in a moment, offering her some hot tea and biscuits while she waited. Her eyes scanned the walls, resting on photos large and small that were hung carefully. One particularly large one was a wedding photo, the couple smiling blissfully at one another, the love they had for each other radiated from their eyes and their smiles. But some of the smaller photos were not so happy, her eyes catching the off setting smiles as they posed for the camera perhaps after they had gotten married.
"Sorry to keep you waiting" came a melodic voice that would interrupt her train of thought. Ami rose from the sofa and bowed to the beautiful briwn haired woman. She was small and frail looking, her facial features soft. Her big brown eyes seemed to have the world in them, glistening a little but her face definitely wore a fatigued expression. "You must be Ami. I was told to expect you over." The pink haired girl nodded, as both women took seats on different sofas, facing one another. For a moment she would be lost in the woman's beauty. "Yes, I apologize for bothering you this early, Mrs. Nakagawa"
"Please, call me Aika..." the woman's voice was a whisper. Aika looked away from Ami and for a brief moment, the Hyuugan sensed a sadness that was unrelated to the circumstance at hand. Nodding her head, Ami would continue. "Firstly, I'm sorry for your loss. I'm here about your husband. I want to gather as much information as I can to help find the person or people who did this to him." Her voice was especially delicate as she saw Aika's eyes fill with tears. This was going to be an emotional interview, Ami bracing herself for whatever was to come.
