    Mission Info:

    Silky Road [Group] UVbvulj
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    A joint mission...
    Ami walked through the desert, her blue eyes scanning the area as she would make her way to the Infinite Canyons. She had been assigned a joint mission with two Sun shinobi and it was supposed to be a protection mission of a wealthy merchant from the Moon who had traveled to the Sun for trade. He was a merchant who sold silk, one of her favourite fabrics. In fact, most of her clothes and fashion accessories were made of silk, even the white dress she was wearing today was made of the material. The breeze gently picked up the seam of her dress as she walked, the gentleness of silk being one of the reasons why she fell in love with the fabric. The other reason was its elegance, giving her the lady-like appearance that matched her clan status. The girl would wander through the desert plains, now a little more used to the heat of the country than when she first came. Truth be told, it was like her second home and she very much enjoyed the many adventures she had had and the new friends that she had made.
    She would reach the meeting place, just in front of the canyons. The girl was early, having left the moon village at an odd hour to get here for the meeting time. The girl wondered about her partners, having received no information about them aside from the fact that they were sun shinobi. Her pink hair flowing gracefully in the wind, she would stand and wait, her Gekkousato headband visible to anyone that was close by. This was one of the few times she would wear her village headband, having thought about the chance that perhaps her partners would not recognize who she was. Not only had she changed her hair and eye colour, she had been meeting many new and hopeful shinobi from both villages, who, if they had no clue what she looked like, would need her headband as a clue.
    Ami hadn't traveled to the Sun village since her last encounter with some scorpions, remembering how she and Keiji had met a mysterious medic. Back then she still had green hair and had shown her Hyuugan eyes for everyone to see. The shift in personality would explain the change in her appearance, no longer wanting to taint the family name. Until she could really prove herself, no one was to see her and be able to tell that she possessed one of the most prestigious kekkei gekkai of her village. The fight with the legendary beast had broken her in a lot of ways, and to pick the broken pieces back together she had chosen to transform herself physically, to throw away what she had been comfortable with and start over. It wouldn't seem like such a huge change, but for the girl it was a new chapter and a new journey. All these thoughts were running through her mind as she waited for her teammates to arrive, the sun's rays unforgiving as they shone on her eyes and face. The sun here felt especially hot, a little difficult for her to adjust.
    Sigh. Cure was bone-tired. Time seemed determined to wear him down, after all. With yet another forlorn sigh, Cure started on the path to the Infinite Canyon. He made sure to bring along his normal weapons, tools, and materials. He also changed his outfit for the first time. He wasn't going as Cure this time, but neither was he going as Dorima. Dorima/Cure had both rapidly lost their anonymity and times were changing. Perhaps. He'd even have to say goodbye to the Sun soon enough. The tired man shook his head at his heavy thoughts.
    As he was internally musing he managed to arrive at his destination. The short man walked up to the merchant that would be his current charge. He had vibrant green hair and wore a forestry inspired Oni mask paired with snazzy ceremonial kimono robes of black, green, and white. To finish off the look he wore two inch platform sandals with grayish green socks. Altogether he looked pretty carefree but upon closer examination, those with a more experienced eye might notice he was anything bit. He held himself in a relaxed stance that actually made it easier to switch into sudden combat, and although well hidden, the barest hint of his various weapons could be found by determined trained eyes.
    This man was an enigma. And that enigma spoke to the merchant and the Moon Ninja that seemed to also be waiting there. His voice was deep and gravely. "Greetings. I am Shinrin Seishin. I will accompany you in your safe journey." The mysterious Shinobi's tone was formal and respectful. Not too loud, not too soft. Shin did a slight bow as he greeted the merchant and his assumed team mate. After which he would wait silently and patiently for instructions.
    Letony’s bleak ambiance cast an ominous gloom over the horizon, as he approached to hastily greet his teammates. He wasn’t too far from the location to begin with. He had to traverse the bulk of the Infinite Canyons to find the later side where the rendezvous point was located. His cloak nearly covered his entire body completely, the sweltering heat leaving an aura of truculence around his being as he walked. The cloak acted more as a shield than a hindrance, it served as a barrier between his skin, and the sun. The cloaked covered over his head, and drifted down to his ankles. There was a sliver of it open where one would only see a bit of white, and orange around the center.
    The graceful winds kicked up the cloak when he neared to just a few meters of the awaiting throng, gathered just in front of the Canyons. There was someone who appeared familiar to Letony. It appeared to be Ami, whom he had encountered on another mission in Gekkousato. This reassured him on his approach, his sun village forehead protector posted around his forehead, and visible as the cloak pulled back slightly. It was odd how he seemed to recognize the Moon shinobi, but he didn’t recollect ever meeting the other Sun shinobi there. Letony was within a comfortable range to converse after Shinrin introduced himself, and bowed. He was there waiting patiently it seemed, as Letony spoke, “I haven’t met you before,” Letony pulled the hood of the black cloak, revealing his face. “And this should turn out well since you’re here,” he directed his light golden-brown eyes toward Ami for a moment before turning again to Shinrin. “I’m Letony,” he said taking a moment to glance over the man’s flamboyant attire. ‘His favorite color must be green.’ Letony preferred darker colors, but this was of no effect to how Letony would treat the stranger, up until this moment. He just hoped he didn’t act as loud as his outfit.
    Ami's head would turn as she noticed someone approach, her blue eyes narrowing to see who it was. She didn't recognize the person coming towards her, not entirely because he was wearing quite a visually unappealing green mask, but also nothing about the man struck her as someone she had met before, not even when he spoke to her. It alarmed her a little as she looked him up and down, from the vibrant green hair to the mask and then to his attire. Something about him made her skeptical, but she would keep her thoughts to herself. He must really like green...she thought, remembering her own green hair that was now something of the past. When he introduced himself, she couldn't help but give a soft chuckle. His parents had named him well, Shinrin Seishin, knowing the literal translation as the power or belief of forests. No wonder he liked green..."Hyuuga Ami, from Gekkousato." she gave her usual reply, in her usual soft tone, just above a whisper.
    And then out of the corner of her eye she would notice her second teammate, and it was none other than Letony, a sun shinobi who she met once in Gekkousato on a bear mission. Ami remembered him well, not only because of his attire, but also because of his rather emotionless or always slightly angry looking face. It amused her a little since she knew he was a kind person at heart. The pink haired girl would nod her head, giving him a smile, surprised that he could recognize her as their gaze met. Not many people had been able to recognize who she was after her little transformation. Perhaps Letony was just observant, she thought to herself. She would wait for the two men to finish their introductions, sensing that like Ami, Letony had never met this Shinrin guy before. It was funny how he was a sun shinobi, the forest protector and lover living in a desert simply amused her. The girl pushed these thoughts aside, taking out the mission scroll. She had a habit of always double checking the mission with her teammates before they went forward, perhaps out of respect or out of the fact that she wanted them all to be on the same page.
    "We have to wait for a messenger. Our client is a silk fabric merchant from the Moon Village," she explained to the two men. Replacing the scroll into her pocket she would look out at the canyon. How different this place was from anywhere in her village. She would like to spend some time here to appreciate the sandy plains, even though her dislike for sand was not a secret to any of her friends and family. Soon, a man in a dark black jumpsuit would approach the three, perhaps having seen their forehead protectors from a distance. He was a short and skinny man, his height shorter than that of Ami's. He stopped in front of the girl and waited, as though expecting her to say something. She would look him up and down, her eyes calculating, before she whispered softly, "Crimson fabric." the code name for the mission. She wondered why it was her that had the codes to the missions. But no matter, the man seemed satisfied and would beckon the three of them to follow him, a little ways away from the infinite canyon.
    Letony. It was an interesting name. Shin gave the man a respectful nod before remaining silent. When Shin heard Ami's name however he was skeptical for a moment, before mentally replacing features of the lady before him. After doing so Shin's eyes widened in shock. This brought attention to the jewel like emerald eyes that blended in with the Oni mask. Actually unlike usual Shin wasn't wearing any special contacts on his eyes, like he used to as Cure. This was his natural eye color that only the Inakura siblings and the Uzamaki's had ever seen. His elder sister Plague used to say he had eyes like a nymph with the soul of a sprite. He'd always cherished those words and his natural eyes. Somehow they seemed to wash away the Blood Red of the Uzamaki's that dyed his life in despair constantly back then. Actually his current alias was made from the nickname Plague had given him back then because of his eyes.
    Shin slowly dragged his mind back to the current situation. While he'd been occupied with his thought's he realized that they were already at the carriage of the client and the other's seemed to be discussing something. Most likely how everyone would be set up during the trip and who would guard from where. Shin stayed silent as he attempted to tune back in to the Conversation. If the others asked for his input before he figured out what was being discussed he would apologize quietly and inform them that his thoughts had strayed and he was not aware of what was being discussed. However if no one asked for his input, Shin would just follow along silently ensuring he did what was needed of him swiftly and obediently.
    At 5"7 (including his two inch sandals), and along with his silent behavior and observant nature, he really did seem as spritely as his namesake. He could almost seem to fade from existence. But when you paid attention to him and had his attention, he would give his whole entire attention and concentration to you. As if you were the sole focus of the universe in that moment. In those moments the man popped out as if being filled in with color and he was most certainly there! This is what others might notice the longer they tended to interact with Shin. Likewise as long as the conversation and interaction of the group went on without his contribution, Shin would focus on the two that were his teammates as well as the merchant to a lesser extent.
    Ami looked truly different. Almost like another person entirely. Pale blue eyes. Light pink hair. It was no wonder he hadn't recognized her before. It seems he was not the only one to decide on a new look. As for Letony? Cloaked in grim color's like a reaper. Surprisingly light brown eyes with Skin as dark if not darker then his own. Not that Shin's skin could currently be seen. Letony was a Sun Shinobi he'd never met. Quite a feat considering he'd met most of the ninja's in the village at least once already. Shin actually couldn't help but stare at the man a bit. Interesting. Well Shin was sure he'd get to know plenty about this new comrade and the new Ami Hyuuga throughout the impending journey. As for the merchant? Shin didn't even know where to begin with him.....
    Post by Letony Wed Aug 05, 2020 8:14 am
    Letony gave his name, awaiting a response that now appeared nonexistent. Despite the rude nature of the act, Letony liked Shin's calculated silence. The man appeared in kind to Letony as a thinker. Letony let off a slight smirk at the nod of Ami, whilst still maintaining his inward ‘v’ slanted eyebrows. He looked angry but with surprisingly high energy at the time in meeting an old acquaintance. Letony could never forget the face of Ami, although it appeared her appearance changed quite drastically in hair and eye color. It must have been some form of guise to fool unsuspecting individuals, or those which lacked the visual acuity possessed by a shinobi such as Letony. As a Genjutsu expert, he was quite observant of his surroundings and miniscule details. But found it amusing how women tend to change their appearances often. It was no matter as Letony and his silver hair, draping across his head on all sides, watched Ami remove a scroll and prepare it to be read to the throng. This was as Shin appeared silent and in deep thought, something Letony noticed. It was like he wasn’t all the way there. A thing Letony also found himself doing quite often.
    Letony gathered closer to observe Ami’s direction. It reminded him of the bear mission, where everyone huddled together like a football team, coordinating their offensive strategy. Letony’s cloak would lightly dangle, as he split the bleak design to reveal the white Konowari flak jacket underneath. Embroidered at the center was the Konowari clan symbol, a bright orange marking, decorated with various tomoe like arrangements. All was contained in a diamond like presentation with three colorful blades dancing around the edges. Around his waist was a red sash, which raveled a number of times around, to go hanging from between his legs to roughly a foot off the ground. Within it, he stored a Tanto which sat just along his front stomach sheathed, and held tightly by the clothe. The man wore unsurprising average sandles which didn’t lend the boy much height, as he was only 5’8. His pants were jet black, and the standard for just about any shinobi. They were jogger like in nature and showed a slight bit of his ankles. His left arm was wrapped tightly with white bandages and a thin black rope. Hiding grievous injuries from his mundane childhood.
    The dark silver haired boy listened intently to the women’s words. ‘So, a silk fabric merchant eh? How dangerous could this possibly be?’ Letony pondered in his thoughts after Ami returned the scroll, and as she viewed off into the canyons. He took a moment to glance back at Shin, and wondered what this new, emerald green eyed, and green haired person was thinking about. He was also masked? It wasn’t too unusual for a shinobi to hide their face, but the vibrant green portrayed the opposite of a serious threat in Letony’s mind. He favored darker colors so, the mask seemed unproductive to him at least. And not knowing the full identity of his teammate? Could he seriously work with such a person?
    Letony directed these thoughts as a figure appeared, thin and short. He appeared to be wearing a dark jumpsuit. ‘That must be the merchant. Now those are the colors I like,’ Letony thought, but wasn’t impressed by the merchant’s stature, and was quite annoyed, as he was considered by Letony not to be important enough to protect. It was only for the sake of his goal he would go along with the mission.
    Letony’s eyes focused on the merchant as he approached Ami, he tensed slightly toward his Tanto, but not enough to cause a reaction from anyone. The merchant hadn’t noticed as he was focused on Ami, and Letony wasn’t sure if Shin was watching, but Letony did have anxiety issues. It was all fine however, as Ami whispered something to the man. Letony sat there silent in his own right, waiting to see the result of Ami’s whisper. After a brief fit of satisfaction, the merchant directed the throng to follow along. Letony reluctantly forced his feet to move, as he followed along with the group. “I’ll take rear guard,” Letony would situate himself as the rear guard on this assignment. And he would only be a few feet from Ami, Shin, or the merchant at any given time, making sure their behinds were effectively covered.
    The first thing that would catch Ami off guard was how quiet both of these men were. Of course, she had not expected them to be all chirpy and happy, but there was something about both of them that just seemed a little strange to her. Especially the man with the terrifying looking mask and green hair. His aura was unreadable and his thoughts as well as he seemed not really with them, as though in his own little bubble. The girl wasn't annoyed at this, but was more intrigued as to what Shinrin was thinking about all the tine. Was there always this much to ponder? Or was she simply too simple-minded to want to think so deeply about things. Whichever it was, the girl decided to shrug it off for now. it was true that this was supposedly their first encounter. If she got to know them both ell enough, perhaps they would be able to have more meaningful conversations.
    As they approached the carriage, she would notice immediately the tanto the merchant had with him. He was not entirely useless of a person, she thought crudely, remembering the many times she had gone on escort or protection missions of merchants who simply didn't know how to do anything but scream or pass out when there was an attack. Ami shot Letony a look, glancing at his facial expressions as she knew that both of them were on the same wavelength. The merchant seemed not too high profile and the bodyguards he hired were like a joke. But that was probably why the man had requested the help of three shinobi, instead of the usual two. "I'll take the front. What about you, Shinrin?" her voice was melodic, her eyes glancing at the carriage and then at the guards that she guessed the merchant himself had hired for safe measure.
    There were three guards in total, including the one who had met them at the Infinite Canyon, all wearing the same black overall suits that made them look more like ninjas than the real ninjas. They carried katana, wakizashi and tanto respectively. There was nothing about them that screamed strength or battle smart, as one would call it, wondering if they even knew how to use their own weapons well. No matter, Ami knew at least that Letony would be able to fend for himself out back if need be, having seen a little bit of what he could do on the bear mission before. It was the green haired man that worried her a little, having no knowledge whatsoever of the man's specialties. It would intrigue her though, hoping to be able to see what he could do during the mission. There was something unsettling about these guards and the merchant though, as their client climbed back into the carriage. But what was it...she couldn't seem to put a finger on it.
    And then it hit her like lightning...
    The girl unsheathed her katana quickly, a swift and smooth movement as she grabbed one of the guards by the arm. Her agility enhanced as a Taijutsu user, she would twist the man's arm around his back, pushing him to a kneeling position. "Quick, grab the other two!" The girl would holler at her teammates. Her own sword brought dangerously close to the man's neck, she would hiss in his ear, "You guys need to act better...now tell me, where is the real merchant." The man who had just returned to the carriage seconds ago would come flying, his tanto poised and ready to strike as he ran towards her. Ami smirked, bringing the kneeling man upward like a hostage as she saw his tanto coming at where she was standing. If he didn't stop in time, his weapon would pierce through his own guard, or whoever it was they all were. Ami knew her fabric and had thought it was exceptionally strange that none of them, not even the merchant was wearing anything made of silk and yet they were supposed to be selling silk in the village!
    As Shin followed along in the middle of the conversation, something nagged at him. He vaguely recalled Letony asking his name while Shin was spaced out. So before the man went over to claim a position Shin spoke to the shinobi in a voice just barely loud enough for Letony alone to hear. "Shirin Seishin." Along with that he gave a small respectful nod in acknowledgement and apology. He did not often let his mind wander after all. "Then I'll stay in the middle near the client." His reply was short and quiet as always. Shin still didn't know what to think of this merchant. The medic had done this mission a number of times and while he hated to stereotype most merchants he met were entitled, cruel, pampered, or some combination there-in. Or they were friendly, boisterous, clever, charming, and full of life.
    This man was an enigma of silence, severity, and cutthroat that you would expect more from bodyguards, thugs, and ronin. Luckily Shin had no problem keeping his suspicions to himself while wearing his mask. Shin was also a master of his own body language. Perhaps that's why when everything burst into action Shin was more then prepared to make his move. With a flick o' the wrist there were senbons flying at the guard with the katanna, a weapon he was intimately familiar with. As such with his extensive medical knowledge and the ability to easily read the "guards" stance, Shin accurately struck five vital points numbing key areas of his opponents body and significantly burdening his performance.
    But he wasn't done yet! With a burst of Taijutsu speed Shin was in front of the "guard" in moments and letting loose a fierce Heel Drop with his thick platform sandals. And true to the name his opponent dropped and with another flourish of his sleeve, a smooth yet calloused cocoa brown hand appeared holding another senbon that was laced with paralytic poison. Those with a trained eye could probably make out the vicious glint of poison shinning on the tip. Shin easily broke the skin on the neck of his victim where he knew the poison would spread the quickest in that area.
    Shin finished this entire swift, but slightly complicated, combo within seconds;despite all the moving parts. He was not a simple man or a simple medic. These thugs would have to wake much earlier in the day to challenge him so easily. This is the strength he worked hard to obtain! After the speedy take-down Shin regained his "easygoing" pose as he watched Pink Ami show her queen-like aura and demand answers. He didn't think she needed help....but.....just in case!
    Shin would try and get her attention with a wave before taking two bottles from the medic bag that had been hiding under his kimono, but now was in view. An experienced shinobi like her probably knew the two bottles were poison and antidote respectively, but even if she didn't the skull and skull inside a crossed out circle on the labels would probably clue her in. Shin would shoot her a look behind the mask with just his suddenly sharp eyes. It'd be a, this might help him talk, sorta look. Pretty ruthless for a medic, but luckily he was also a shinobi.....
    Post by Letony Wed Aug 12, 2020 10:04 pm
    Letony kept his eyes raised, and peeled, watching as the various interactions took place before the team would proceed with the mission. Letony was quite taken aback when Shin gave him his name as he approached the rear-guard position. Giving Letony a nod of respect which was duly noted, as Letony already seemed to favor this new individual. But what took place in the moments that followed Letony’s retreat to rear-guard were unexpected to say the least. At least to Letony. That was until Ami shot a glance at him. The look she gave startled the man into what seemed to be awareness of the actual situation taking place. His body gave a quick shutter, similar to how the same thing occurred as the merchant first approached Ami. Letony’s innate paranoia acting as a beneficiary sense in the current situation, and another reason he decided to take rear guard. He wanted to keep an eye on everything that occurred within the throng like an overseer, as his eyes were trained to details in a way similar to Ami’s noticing of the Tanto. A detail he missed, but the silent body language of the women’s brief glare ignited Letony to prepare for the worst.
    Letony was indeed on the same wavelength as Ami, already having his doubts and suspicious about the situation entirely. His eyes hardened slightly once he fully acknowledged what Ami meant by the glare in seconds. That was when she proceeded on with the engagement, giving Letony, and Shinrin knowledge of where she would position herself for the mission. She also asked Shinrin where he’d like to position himself.
    As the client made his way back on the carriage, Letony was already poised to generate an offense when the time came. He allowed his hands to rest in a position where he could easily manage seals, or go for his Katana when the situation dictated. Letony watched the situation occur moment by moment, expecting something unanticipated to happen rather suddenly. And it did, as Ami abrupted unsheathed her Katana. This was clearly the signal to act in Letony’s mind without the women even having to tell him. “You,” Letony caught one of the guard’s attention while Ami wrestled and restricted her respective guard. It appeared Shinrin was quite capable of handling himself as well, Letony noticing the man’s Senbon sent flying through the air with master precision to impale his targeted guard.
    This was all that Letony would come to realize with his eyes for a few moments, however. After he spoke, he immediately formed his hand seals before closing his eyes. The moment his eyes closed, Letony’s respective guard to take out from the throng, would be watching Letony. The boy performed the seals with such great accuracy and speed, there was little time to interrupt him; as the guard would lunge for Letony having seen his eyes close. But would come to a sudden halt just three feet ahead of where Letony was currently situated, which was indeed in the rear. The guard was facing an illusion that restricted his movement to massive proportions, as the guard would see a tree growing from the ground and coiling him within its branches as it ascends. It was an illusory tree, and the guard would seem to stop his advance for no reason at all, and be frozen in place until Letony could render him to the afterlife. With the guard held passively in the Genjutsu, Letony could not decide whether to finish him off or interrogate him for more information. However, there were others’ who could provide such intelligence, as it seemed the other guards were still alive. Letony turned to Ami, and Shinrin after having subdued his chosen guard. “What should we do with them now?” Letony looked over at Ami with an inquisitive gaze, longing to see what the women had in store, as it always proved exciting and bloody. It appeared at the moment that Letony posed his question, the woman was already busy interrogating her chosen guard.
    Ami would see out of the corner of her eye that Shinrin was waving at her, perhaps trying to catch her attention. Not removing the katana from the man's throat, she would look at the other man, her eyes reflecting the confusion that was clearly written on her face. The girl pushed her knee down on the torso of the guard and placed her weight on the man, smiling lightly as she heard him groan. The woman lifted her head and would see two bottles flying at her face. Catching the bottles with her free hand, she was beyond mystified. Ah...realization dawned upon her as she saw the labels on the bottles. Right, interrogation...her head turning to the guard that was having trouble breathing while the girl was on top of him. "So now...will you just spill it out or do we have to make this difficult?" Ami waved the bottle in his face, putting the antidote on her sword that she now held dangerously close, activating her kekkei gekkai.
    The girl could see the man's chakra points now, her focus switching to his chakra systems. Seeing the man not reply, she would take her sword and stab him in the left arm, hitting a chakra point. As he screamed in agony, Ami withdrew her blade, the smile now malicious as she literally sat on the guy. "Last chance..." she hissed, the girl stabbed him in the other arm, another scream escaped from his lips. Realizing that she meant what she said, the man would quietly tell her that the merchant was being held in a warehouse off on Kataki Road. The smile still intact on her face, she would thank him, delivering the final blow to his chest to finish him off. If he had even thought that she was going to spare him, how wrong he would have been, his eyes widening before his body went limp. The Hyuuga would get off the dead man, seeing that both Letony and Shinrin had managed to take care of the rest of the fake guards and speak softly.
    "Kataki Road, let's go..."
