Star Crossed (Solo Clash)

A classic fight, a spectator sport to Ami as she lazily got out of bed and to the training grounds. She was displeased with the idea of having to fight someone of another clan to prove her worth, even though it was a training mission. The girl would walk towards the grounds and sighed when she saw her father and the rest of her clan elders sitting there. It definitely didn't sit well with her that her entire clan was going to watch the fight, especially since she had no idea who she was going to be fighting against. The only thing her father had bothered to tell her was that she was going to represent the Hyuuga Clan and that her opponent was going to be from another somewhat prestigious clan in Gekkousato. Which didn't help her at all...She made her way to her seat, beside her father, stifling a yawn. It was too early in the morning for her to be anywhere other than in her bed, as she bowed her head respectfully to first the elders and then to her father. Ever since Ami had changed her hair colour, the elders had yet another long discussion about her supposed deviation from the clan rules.

Because she was going to fight, she had not worn her blue contacts, knowing that they would hinder her use of the Byakugan. If she was going to fight as a representative of her clan, she knew that she would have to use her kekkei gekkai. The girl sat quietly, waiting for whoever it was that she would be facing. Her eyes scanned the crowd that had gathered, her eyes widening a fraction when she recognized a very familiar face. Keiji...her lavender pupils rested on his face shortly, and then turned to her father, who had been watching her gaze. "The Tsuyoiito Clan has maintained a neutral but distant relationship with us. Your opponent today is someone from there." Her heart sank, praying that it would not be who she thought it would be. "Remember, Ami, it's more than just the reputation of you but our entire family that's on the line."

And then there would be the announcement from one of the Tsuyoiito's elders, announcing who would be participating in the clash. The girl's eyes traveled from the woman to where Keiji was sitting, her mind and heart racing as she heard their names being called. For some reason she had expected the match would be between them. Ami gave a sad smile, standing up from her chair. She knew that Keiji would feel conflicted, having to fight her. And she would too, to a certain extent. But she was more excited, as she had secretly wanted to fight him for a long time. She wanted to know what he was capable of, one on one. The girl had an emotionless expression on her face as she approached her side of the ring. Her eyes met his and for a moment she could tell what he wanted to communicate. A loving man...Keiji was.

"I want you to treat me like any other opponent, no less..." her words were barely whisper so that nobody except Keiji would be able to hear her. The girl knew that it was inevitable, that the emotions and personal feelings she had for him were not to take over or alter her way of fighting. However, she was going to have to think of a strategy to not hurt him or get hurt too badly while making it seem like a real fight. That was hard, since every one of the spectators present were either high ranked shinobi or people who were deeply connected with the shinobi world, both groups of people who would definitely be able to tell if the two of them were faking it. As it was a clan battle, this would just make their situation even worse. Ami thought for a moment, her eyes resting on Keiji's face, trying to rationalize a possible solution.

"Both of you will fight only jutsus from your kekkei gekkai or clan. You are allowed to use any small weapons as well. But please take off any primary weapons and toss them outside the ring." They would hear her father's voice from the spectator circle, her eyes widening at the prospect of not being able to use her swords. Ami sighed heavily, taking both of her katana from underneath her obi and placing them carefully outside the ring. This was going to be exceptionally difficult, seeing as she had planned on learning a thing or two from Keiji about weapons and how to use them better.

If this was meant to be some kind of mean joke that both of their clans were playing on them, she was not having it, as the girl looked back at Keiji, who had by now removed his weapons and placed them outside the ring. Fighting only with her kekkei gekkai techniques at her disposable was a detrimental decision that anyone from her clan could have made, knowing how they were primarily close range and defensive techniques. She would shoot an incredulous look at the spectators, mainly at her clan elders and her immediate family. It would put her at a disadvantage also, not knowing the full extent of the Koka-Ito techniques he used. Sighing heavily her gaze would return to her love, her lavender white eyes staring straight into his, a piercing stare as she prepared herself.

Perhaps it was just her luck that the Gentle Fist techniques were primarily defensive, her stance immediately taking on the stance while she readied herself for whatever he was going to launch at her. And what he did launch at her wouldn't surprise her. The girl watched as Keiji would perform a jutsu she had seen once before when they were fighting the bijuu. It was a defensive technique, similar to that of her palm rotation except it used his hair, obviously. Ami smiled a little as she analyzed his Jingasa, knowing that it was similar to that of wearing a helmet on his head. This meant that any overhead attacks would be close to useless, she presumed.

The girl would have little time to think as she saw him fire some senbon at her. It was not like the usual senbon, not only because it came from his hair, but also because she would assume based on their length that they were to be much more powerful than the regular senbon in her weapon pouch. Ami would step backwards about a meter, her chakra concentrating to the palm of her hands. She would send a gush of her own chakra and force to cancel his attack. It was a gamble that she was willing to take, seeing as the mountain crusher technique wasn't one that she was used to using and would be a test of its strength against an incoming attack. As her palm outstretched, she would send her chakra directly at the senbon. Not waiting to see what it did to them, she would close in the distance between them, moving three meters forward and activated her Byakugan in the process.

Her vision was immediately replaced, her eyes taking in his chakra system. It made it easier for her in a way to attack him, treating his chakra system as her opponent instead of having to look at him in the face. The girl would proceed to take out two regular senbon from her weapon pouch, aiming it at his left shoulder as she stopped moving forward. She was going to test the waters with her secondary weapons, instead of closing in on him enough to attack him with the other gentle fist style techniques. She would wait, at least for the moment.

As Ami could see that her mountain crusher technique had been sufficient to blow through his attack, a small smile would appear on her face. She never ever underestimated Keiji, and he certainly was a strong opponent. The girl would see his chakra system move, meaning that he was moving, sidestepping her senbon and closing the distance between them to five meters. Perfect..she thought to herself, the smile would continue to be on her lips as she readied herself for another attack. She saw his chakra move in his body, which meant that he was probably going to attack her. The Byakugan still active, the girl readied herself, taking the Gentle Fist stance once more. The all-seeing eyes had things they couldn't see, so she had to anticipate movements from her opponents sometimes.

And that was exactly what she would do, as she extended her arms out, spinning in a circle as she released a little of her chakra to form a sphere that would wrap around her body. The palm rotation technique, which had gotten her out of very tight situations more than once was a defense technique that she could rely on under any circumstance, and was probably one of the most used clan jutsu for her. She wasn't sure what kind of attack Keiji was going to throw at her, but because she wasn't aware, palm rotation was the perfect choice, as it deflected both physical and jutsu attacks. If she was able to deflect his threaded whips, she would fumble through her weapon pouch and pull out a kunai and tie an explosive tag to it, throwing it in the direction of where Keiji was standing. She expected him to dodge it at least.

Ami wasn't anticipating the whips to coil around her palm rotation the way it did. In fact much of how Keiji had moved would catch her off guard. As she spun, she had expected that the rotation force would deflect the whips altogether. Instead it had wrapped around and spun both Keiji and his whips. She wasn't aware that he was now airborne, above her. As she finished her rotation, her arms still outstretched, she would feel his whips coil around both her hands, binding them. However, because he is airborne, she would wrap her fingers around the whips to pull him close. She simply needed him to get close enough.

Her grip was firm on his whips as she tried to yank him to her, her hands still laced with her own chakra from her rotation. Ami would extend her fingers out to strike his chakra points, hoping that it would force him to let go of the whips if he wanted to avoid it. The girl only wanted him to come close enough so that she could strike, so the idea of being bound was just what she needed to close in the distance between them. If she was successful, even if only one point struck him, all sixteen would, temporarily blocking his chakra points for the next turn.
