Scandalous Scorpions (Group Mission)

Yatari didn't seem to pay much attention to the other two, instead putting her puppet down and laying down ontop of it with a soft groan. She may make it look easy but carrying that much weight around couldn't possibly be healthy. At this rate she could probably begin lifting as much as a taijutsu user...hmm that sounds like a good thing to learn as a just in case, there was also the case of her elemental nature. Unlike many other genin she never truly had a chance to do that paper process, during those times she was usually working on her puppetry, perfecting the build so that when she finally went into combat it was nigh impenetrable. Of course she still had work to do on it, like how just on the underside of the tail there is a weakened spot that she has to distribute her own bone into every time she uses her bone puppetry as to reinforce it.

Yatari herself wore the normal ninja flak jacket but it was it unzipped at all times as to allow Yatari to take it off and weaponize it at any moment, weaponize meaning that she could wrap it around a creatures head and suffocate someone with it if seen necessary, Yatari thought ahead like that. Although, Yatari wasn't exposing her chest to the world, no, instead she hada sleveless skin tight shirt underneath with a slit as to allow air circulation throughout her body and act as a cooling system, with this outfit she never became fatigued when fighting in the heat. For pants they were of similiar color but were, in fact, just a tad too big, creating a confusing sense as to what her lower half is truly like. She also kept her forehead protector in the intended spot, knowing its use outside of simply identifying the wearer.

Before either of the women had actually been in sight, Sojiro's nose had picked up on a variety of scents that alerted him to their presence. Despite that, he would still be lounging when they approached, slowly moving into an upright sitting position. He would let his eyes scan over both females, assessing them as shinobi for a moment and committing their faces to memory before he would slide from the rock, "That's right, Sojiro Sakura, at your service." Once on his feet, he would move his arms above his head as he began to stretch, standing on his tippy toes for a moment. Afterward, there was a relieved sigh that would leave his breath before he would start walking, motioning with his head for the two of them to follow.

The fields were mostly opened, though a bit from them was a small plateau that was in the landscape and from how he was walking, was most likely their destination. He wasn't really sure how much about the mission they had been told so, just to be safe, he would go over the details, "So, supposedly the scorpions in the area have become a bit more aggressive. They've been attacking people and caravans, so we've been given a mission to hunt one of these groups." In that moment, he would look over his shoulder at the girls to see if they had any questions about the mission.

The Kaguya nodded in agreement repeatedly although she wasn't even really listening and instead was carefully forming handseals, not really going for a jutsu but instead improving her muscle memory. The better she memorizes her signature jutsu the fast she will be able to do it.

"Got any idea where they are and how big are they? If you can tell me that we'll be done in no time, assuming neither of you two get some stupid ideas. This is a B rank mission after all."

Her eyes narrowed towards the two, clearly showing some sort of disdain for them, although it was less of a hatred due to their actions and more of a disgust from their mere existance.

"Also, collect any of their venom that you can."

This time was with an bossy tone, making sure that everyone knew that she was in charge.

"As a ranged ninja you will do as I say when I say it."

Sojiro would walk with the women, looking over the Kaguya who would begin to ask some questions and he'd give a nod of his head, "Their bodies are about 2 meters in length, their tails are supposedly around 5 meters in length. As for where, they should be right up ahead." He stated as they would come up the rounded side of the plateau and towards the top. As the girl would take a bossy tone and attempt to boss Sojiro around, there was a brief pause from the man before he would start laughing. It was entertaining and unexpected the way that she had decided to just take charge. The man would raise a hand to wipe a tear away from his eye, slowly stopping his laughing and giving a nod of his head to her. He spoke like someone who was humoring a child, more so than a teammate, "Right, right. As you say, Boss Lady."

As they came up the side, the top of the plateau was simple enough, decorated with just a few trees but being mostly barren. Ahead of them, about 15 meters away, was a group of about 6 of the large scorpions that seemed to be feasting on a few carcasses from fallen animals. Despite laughing at the girl, he was curious as to what gave her so much confidence, so he would actually wait for her orders to see what happened. If they ended up failing, he'd just do what he needed to in the end.

As soon as the group reached the top she would already begin to show off her talents, shrugging off the puppet of bone that was clearly bigger than she was, dropping to the ground and flattening the grass underneath them, it had some weight to it that was sure. Yatari forms five different handseals, each one flowing into the next with ease, she was incredibly used to doing this specific set by now after years of practicing it, she had the muscle memory for it.

Yatari places her hand against the puppet's back and it would shudder to life, creaking and beginning to stand on its hinds legs.




The puppet launched into the crowd, strings of pure bone being released from Yatari's fingers and controlling it as she wiggled them about, the puppet would make sure to take up in its hands two of the large scorpions, his tail readying to slash at those who came near. Both of the ones within its grasp were held up by their tail as to keep it from trying to stab at the puppet.

The man would watch curiously as the woman would shrug off her puppet and bones sprouted from her fingers, allowing her to control the puppet. That caused him to raise his brow a bit, he had never considered the idea of using bones as a replacement for strings but it was a clever idea. As the puppet moved and grabbed the scorpions, Sojiro would slowly move to stand up and roll his shoulders as he did, "Well, I'll take that as my cue to go help?" He would say before moving to stroll after the puppet, not seeming to worried about the mission.

But, as he got closer to the scorpions, he would pick his speed up a bit and he would let out a low growl. The noise got the attention of one of the scorpions that would turn around, skittering across the ground rapidly at the man with dangerous intent. As it got closer, Sojiro would bend his knees and launch himself into the air with ease, flipping his body around and summoning chakra into his right leg. With great force, he would bring his heel down into the scorpion and splay the innards across the ground in the process. The ground underneath the beast would explode in a 3 meter radius, though it somehow only get the attention of one other scorpion, the puppet proving to be an excellent distraction and weapon.

Yatari waved him off dismissively. Why ruin her fun? Its not like these things were really that strong, they are just big and might give someone with a fear of bugs a heart attack but that meant nothing to the genin as her puppets were rather large as well AND their venom were pretty much useless on the constructs. "Don't worry about it."



Soon after the puppet would begin using the two scorpions it had just picked up as weapons, swinging them about seemingly wildly but nonetheless it was hitting the few that dared near it. With this the thing was practically a whirlwind of danger.

Sojiro would listen as the girl would wave him off and insist that she had things, raising a brow but he wasn't really in the mood to argue. These things were more dangerous to him than a puppet, but it wasn't like he was worried about them damaging him. As the second scorpion came over to him, he would just dodge to the side and kick it in the side so that it went back over to the others and the puppet. These things were even easier for him than her, so if she wanted to use them as practice, it wasn't actually a bad idea. The man would walk over to where she was at and move to sit cross-legged next to her, "So you said to make sure to collect the venom, funny thing, I plan on keeping some for myself so it works out."

"A fellow medical nin? Respectible."She would nod, confirming her words. She was actually playing with the scorpions rather than actually intending to kill them, hence why she was making the puppet swing rather than stab and isn't just crushing them. "This IS supposed to be a B rank mission right? What happened to B rank being for those just starting to make a name for themselves and maybe even earning a nickname." Yatari would shrug this thought off before wiggling her fingers a bit more.



As Yatari absentmindedly smashed away at the scorpions it would turn out that the two in its hands were dead, their shell was shattered, sending fragments away. That left four which were already decently beaten and the puppet treated them just the same, yanking them up by their tails and tossing them about before it suddenly went slack and Yatari retreated her strings.

Sojiro would give a small shrug as the girl asked the fair question of if this mission was ranked correctly, "I'm not really sure how it works, honestly. I always felt the system was a little bit off." He would comment in response while rolling his shoulders. He watched as the strings of bone would retract, raising his brow to see what it was the girl would do now, "I have to say, this may be the most enjoyable mission that I have found myself on in a very long time."

"Its a dissapointment to me, I didn't even get to see the effects of their tail's poison. Now I have to actually test it for myself."

Yatari would shrug, picking up her puppet before turning to Sojiro.

"Well if this is all we need to do, and if you are a medical nin you gotta let me see your collection. Maybe you have some dead bodies I can turn to puppets."

Sojiro would look at the girl as he gathered her puppet then turned to him, giving a small shrug of his shoulders as he would move over to the scorpions, "I have a little something back at home, though I don't have any dead bodies." He would give a small chuckle as he began the process of stripping the venom out of the tails of the creatures, something that he did with a trained and skilled grace. He was lying about not having access to dead bodies but there was a certain outward appearance he was trying to keep and he was a damned good liar. Regardless, he would shrug while getting the venom, "You're more than welcome to come back to the village though to see some of my concoctions, I've got my own clinic. and apothecary."

"Maybe I will..."

Yatari would genuinely consider this, most people she hated instantly but those who are like her, taking on the less considered roles of puppetry and medical ninjutsu rather than the standard taijutsu, ninjutsu, or genjutsu always get a sort of a headstart in her standings. She might just make use of this man.

"Mind helping me advance my knowledge of medical ninjutsu?"

Yatari would ask before creating a chakra scalpel and got to work at the tails, she wasn't clumsy whatsoever, both her skills requiring absolute precision.
