The stalker of the roads! (Group Mission)

Mission Info:

The day was hot and disgusting out, sweat would pool on almost any that stayed outside for even a modicum of time. The clouds were all but nonexistent as well so only the sun and its fiery glare would rain down on whomever stayed in its gaze. Gen had been tapped to carry out a sweep up mission to cleanse a section of the Kataki road from the happenings of a large beast, supposedly twice the size of a caravan and roughly bear shaped. It was responsible for the deaths of several caravans already that had traveled the section of the Kataki road int he last few weeks.

At the mile marker nearest where the attacks occurred, Genkumaru was waiting for his counterpart to attend from the moon village, a young Genin of the Kaguya clan that was becoming quite known as an adept martial artist in his own right, which drew a significant amount of interest from Gen. As a fellow martial artist he loved seeing any and all combat styles in motion. The sheer destructive force of some of the ones he had seen so far was baffling and amazing to experience. His own style was a evolving as he went along in his career, beginning as more of a counter heavy turtle like style that has transitioned into a more rapid and punishing style of countermoves, parries and strong brutal motions.

Leaning against the guard station, a ten meter block style building that held rations and cots inside for travelers, he was wearing his usual attire and was sporting his headband today as a full bandanna to absorb some of the growing sweat from his brow. The sweltering heat clearly even affecting someone from Nikkkousato itself! Today would be a very interesting day that was for sure.

Seeing his charge in clothing different from when last they met he nodded to the boy and spoke, "I remember you Shinigai. I am glad to see you today for this type of mission, if I remember you are a stellar melee combatant isn't that right?", He would rise from his leaning position and crack his neck from side to side before he would head down the well worn path off to the far left of the rest area. The forestry around them sporting several debarked trees a clear sign of rutting from a larger creature.

Heading further in he would speak again, "All signs point to this being a large bear like creature apparently. Are you okay with this? We may need to fight this creature which has already taken the life of plenty of others.", Moving deeper into the forest he would begin to stretch as they went further towards their target. He was ready for whatever may come next as it was his duty to carry forth this mission. He was the charge on this mission and he was ready and willing to lead with honor and duty, and protect his charge if needed.

As they ventured deeper in a cave built in the hilly forestry terrain came into view, it was bloodstained at its entrance and covered in the bones of deceased creatures and people. It was large and foreboding and spelled only death to those that looked upon it. Loud, labored breathing could be heard inside as if a large creature was struggling deep within the darkness that laid in front of them. Stopping at its entrance Gen would raise his hand up to signal the stop sign. Looking into the bodies that littered the caves entrance were several headbands and flak jackets from both villages torn and tattered as they laid about the area.

He listened on as Shin talked and they observed their area. It was disturbingly quiet nearby except for the labored breathing. No other sounds could be heard nearby even those of insects. Clearly whatever resided in the cave nature even knew was dangerous. Answering Shin's questions he spoke softly, "Sorry, My brother Sojiro spoke of you to me.", Taking steps forward, quietly and low, he crouched his way into the cave. The breathing becoming louder as a huge bear came into view with large runic markings covering its body, they glowed an eerie luminescent contrasting with its dark brown fur. It was breathing roughly, and the source of said breathing became evident as a spear would be seen sticking out of the creatures skyward facing side, broken half way down the shaft.

Skirting along the left wall of the cave he flashed Shinigai a look that spelled caution. He would within moments come upon the front of the creature, it was sleeping and had gun that dwarfed Gen's in comparison. This beast was potentially a strong enemy from it brute strength alone, regardless of whatever the glowing runes meant. As he crept forward gen would step into the bear space and begin to rest his hand on the spear shaft, looking down into the sleeping creatures eyes as he removed it with a quick yank. The Bear would immediately awaken and right its body as it roared out vigorously! Lightning rising from the runic patterns as it surrounded itself in a Nagashi like aura. Reacting immediately Gen would do the same, creating a Chidori and then covering his body in his own lightning field, "Shinigai! Be careful!", He would move to smack the beasts backside and back himself up towards the caves wall, distracting the bear to focus on him instead of his ward.

As the bear arched its back it let out an earth shattering roar, causing the very cave to quake with the threat of collapse. Its mighty frame large and imposing as it stood on its hind legs and beat its chest like an ape with its well muscled arms. Lightning flickering off its body with each movement as it arced to nearby surfaces all around him. When the arcs met gen's they would fissile out in fusion collisions causing loud and audible bangs. The scene was like something out of a fantasy novel, as their foes eyes glowed a vibrant silver. Meter long bone spikes would rise froth from the ground and impale the bears back legs but deflect off of its lower abdominal area as it lowered itself, the bones breaking as if they had hit hardened steel. A pained grunt came from the creature as it howled in response to the pain.

Launching a left handed strike at Gen's right side the bear seemed to be aiming to rake his flesh from his bones as its claws were fully outstretched and roughly a foot in length each. The rending strike of the beast would be parried however by Gen using the pile bunker technique on the arm as it came down, exploding it backwards causing the bear to have its body shift 180 degrees instead of being pushed back, this snapped the bones in the ground and let the bear tumble towards Shinigai. Finally noticing another being was in the cave other then the one that tried to pull the spear out, the bear would open its maw and fire a beam of concentrated lightning chakra aimed directly at Shin's chest.

Refusing to let panic set in as he deflected the terrifyingly powerful clawing attack the bear had used, Gen would look down at his left arm and realize that the beast claws had sliced him at some point as three two inch deep lacerations were on his forearm going towards his hand now. Blood dripping from his arm he would launch himself forward into a renewed assault on the bear, aiming a solid punch at its back left hip, letting off an explosion with the punch using the pile bunker technique. The beasts Leg would end up breaking and dislocating at the joint from the attack as it fell over from the force.

The fight would continue with his first attack being able to strike at the beast legs but being of no match to the rest of its body. Shinigai would not allow this to stop his next attack from charging. He would continue watching as the bear would return to its four legged position and aim its paws to his teammate for this mission. The man was capable but his next actions would shock the young man as he would watch the large paw with its large claws strike at Genkumaru. His eyes would widen but his mouth was frozen in fear for the man. Suddenly the sound of an explosion could be heard as the bear would be spun around parts of its arms hitting the wall cause the cave to shake more than it already had. Was it a good idea to fight something so huge in its own domain leaving them little room to mvoe, no, but they had to do what a ninja had to do.

The beast would now be facing shinigai as its eyes would lock on to his. Their lightning growing as if they were trying to rival each other in power. Its mouth opening and a beam of lightning would begin to charge. "I will not end here." Shinigai would say as his hand would tense up and the jutsu he would use would push his body to attack. Before the bear would be able to release its beam the man would attack. Both shinigai and genkumaru would make their move. As he would jet to the same location that genkumaru would attack. Dodging the little bits of lightning that were striking more and more due to the Bear's rage. His hand would be jousted forward as he would run his hand against the bear and cutting into its skin from its arm all the way down to its leg causing it to bleed. Bits and pieces of its fur and blood would splatter on to the kaguya as he would stop just beyond the beast's leg. Suddenly the crackling and the crash of the beast attack would be heard by the two. It would strike a lower part of the cave but the force of the beam would cause the cave to shake even more. Rocks would begin to fall from the top of the cave making as shinigai would jump to the side to try and dodge a few that were coming for him. "Are you good?" Shinigai would ask he looked over to Gen's bleeding arm.

Shinigai had proven to be quite capable as he dodged the beam of the bears and retaliated with a great counter attack! Slicing the bear as it toppled over cleanly along one side. It would writhe on the ground for a few moments before it tried to right itself only for the cave to begin collapsing, piles of rubble falling all over the cave. This was quickly going sideways! Speaking quickly to Shinigai he would begin to run past the bear towards the entrance of the cave as rubble was falling all around them some of it hitting the bear, "I am fine! Let's get out of here before it turns into our grave!", he would book it as fast as he could looking behind them as the bear would begin to get pelted by more rubble but tried to bound towards the exit as well, firing off several small lightning blasts in the process.

As one of the electric beams careened towards him, Gen would tilt his body backwards and slide outside of the entrance ripping his pants and shirt up in the processes as he fired another beam of explosive energy at the bear to stun it briefly as he slipped outside of the collapsing cavern. Laying on the ground for a brief moment he would take a deep breathe in before rising to his feet to look around for Shinigai, as he forgot to make sure he followed after him. The door to the cavern collapsed now as its ceiling buckled inwards more then likely trapping or killing anything left inside.

The power of lightning. The chirping of the birds would echo through the valley and cause many of the nearby birds and other animals to make their way away from the area. The battle was nearing its end as the young shinigai would grasp his lightning filled hand by the wrist and breathe a few moments before allowing the jutsu to set in. He was a close range fighter and using something that needed him to be far before he would could close was very different for him. His eyes would lock on to the bear as he would search for the perfect area to hit the bear. 'One' he would begin to count as he watched his teammate attack the bear with his sharp spear and pierce the beasts lung. Perfect. The beast was weak, his body now in tatters and his will to live surely wavering as he would roar loudly clearing out even more of the valley. 'Two' the boy would say as he would take his first step to the location of the bear. The chirping of the two chidoris growing louder as they began to get close to one another.

'Three' The last number he would count to before he would begin to run toward the bear. "DIE!" he would yell as his foot steps would grow heavy and the lightning would spark from his hand as he would drag it close to the ground and run at the bear. It's death was now a given thing as it white eyes would look down to the kaguya that was coming for him and be filled with fear and regret. Fear of what the afterlife would bring him as this man would end his life and regret for all the humans it had attacked and killed during his life. The scene would go black as the man would connect. His hand digging deep into the beast's skin and reaching its heart. Shinigai's arm now covered in blood and his mission now complete. The bear would be out of breath and would not be able to release its last roar before it would lose its life. Ripping his hand from the beast he would jump away from it allowing it to fall to the ground. "Find your way to hell." Shinigai would say as he would walk away from the valley. His bloody hand waving at Genkumaru as he would leave. His job was complete and another life was taken by the kaguya of the moon. His mind would begin to waver as he would hold his head with his other hand. A voice sneaking in and giving off its approval of the violence. "Egg's take time to hatch.. and you'll hatch into a perfect vessel." It would say as shinigai would make his way home. The blood almost staining his skin as he would wash it off in a nearby river.
