That was the thought that was running through her mind as Ami made her way beyond the Gekkousato village gates and towards Lake Biwan. She had heard that there was some kind of wild animal that was tormenting the people there. There wasn't much information about the animal itself but judging from what the mission scroll said, the animal was not a land animal, which the Hyuuga couldn't be more thankful about. The killing of bears had become such a traumatic experience for her that she dared not think of what would happen if she was tasked to do another. Because the place was a lake she guessed that it was going to be an animal underwater. A shark? A dolphin? She only hoped that there would be one animal and not a pack of them, as she had learned from past experiences.
The girl was wearing her usual black dress with her two katanas sheathed tightly underneath her obi. She was going to meet her teammate, Jayy. It was rather surprising that her village had decided to tell her who her partner was going to be on this mission, being rather secretive of this kind of information normally. Ever since the fight they had gone on that mission with Karite, which if memory served her correctly was also an animal attack, the two of them had not crossed paths. Perhaps for the better, she supposed. Although she had forgiven and almost forgotten the fight they had had at the tomb where the demon inside of him had wanted so much to kill her, she knew that it was still plaguing Jayy's mind. Ami hoped that this mission would help him realize that he really hadn't been at fault. Had it been anyone else, had it been under any other circumstance, she would have still fought the way she did. The only difference was, she probably wouldn't be friends with that person afterwards. The girl trusted her teammate, and trusted in their friendship.
Her footsteps were light as she came to the clearing from a forest of trees, eyeing the calm lake. How long had it been since she had come here...This used to be her little sanctuary where she could come and reflect and drink herself to sleep. The afternoon sun was bright but not overly so as it hung in the skies. A beautiful day that would be interrupted by the killing of one or more animals. Ami would sit by the lake, her lavender white eyes resting on the surface of the glistening waters in front of her, waiting for her partner. It was rather unbelievable to think that such calm waters would be home to a dangerous animal or animals. Heaving a sigh she would wait silently, thinking back to all the fond and not so fond memories the two shinobi shared. They were like siblings, friends, rivals all in one, and she hoped to cherish whatever bond they would share from this moment forward, as he was her first and true friend.
