Letony received his mission prior this day. He would continue investigating the case of missing children plaguing the village. In this climate things were getting tense, and Letony could feel the unease in the air throughout the village. Some things remained as usual but, with children disappearing it was hard to direct one’s mind away from such things. Letony remembered his last time working on this assignment; he managed to find a lead but no missing children. He wondered how successful he would be at the mission this time around. It burned in his stomach to think of the horrors the children were experiencing; after all this mission was close to the chest.
The fifteen-year old would head for the Academy once more; Letony believed it had something to do with where the children were being taken from. It was a common place for children to be. Albeit, they are supposed to be under adult supervision while roaming the grounds. Letony himself wasn’t even an adult yet. He would arrive to the academy to find the place complete vacant of anyone on the outside. He wondered if he should explore inside the academy, however he didn’t want to interrupt any classes. Deciding to take his search elsewhere, Letony would meander over to The Burrows and have a visit with the Slums of Nikkousato. This was a place all too keen on any dark, or nefarious activities. At least that was what the rumors Letony heard around the village alleged.
Letony’s gloom emerged on the edge of the Slums as he entered the area. The place seemed to have a gloom of its own covering over everything that dwelled there. There were people sitting down with little clothing to cover their bodies. Letony could see the hunger in the eyes of its populace. It was surprising such a place existed in such a village of high standing. Everything seemed to be starving, and Letony could hear the arguments and yelling emanating from the rundown apartment buildings. This made Letony swell with additional anxiety as he delved deeper into the Slums. What annoyed Letony the most was all the disgusting trash thrown about the ground. The place was in utter disarray.
Letony advanced to a street corner where he could turn the block. There were more apartment buildings ahead of him, and on either side. From his right side a person would suddenly come hurling from the second floor of a five floor apartment building. Letony’s cloak almost completely covered his body and hid much of his identity, so as the man came flying out and a person approached the windowsill, they would not know Letony was a shinobi charged with keeping order. Letony knew a hasty method to subdue to aggressor. As the man in the window watched the result of his own attack, Letony would yell up at him, “Hey, I’m the only one who gets to kick some ass around here,” he says grabbing the man’s attention. Letony created hand seals, the man’s eyes easily drawn to them. When Letony finished his seals the man screeched out in pain. He witnessed Letony shatter into several blades of wind which came flying at him. Although, reality proved to be altered prominently, he experienced the pain of each blade constantly. This was enough to subdue a simple civilian to a high degree, as Letony went to assist the person who got thrown out the window. “You good?” Letony said nonchalantly. The man came to and responded, “I’m good.” This was all Letony needed before he would proceed with this mission, “Have you heard anything about children going missing?”
“I have…As a thanks for doing that for me,” the man pointed at the other guy writhing in pain, “I’ll tell ya what the rumors are. People say it’s related to the hidden Moon village. That they hold a grudge and are taking children to destroy the future generations of the Sun village. That’s all I know.”
Letony listened with just skepticism, as it was quite dangerous for such an allegation to be spoken out loud. However, he knew this needed to be reported immediately, and headed directly to the Administration Building to inform about his success with a lead.
