A lone figure with bright green hair could be seen walking through the jungle region. It had been awhile since Ami had been here, her last time was when she took a mission with her teammate, Karite, if she recalled correctly. The wind blew gently against her face, passing through her long strands of hair. It was a relatively good day today, the sun shining brightly and peeking out of white fluffy clouds. The air was warm but not overly humid, even in the jungle. Perfect day for a stroll. She hadn't had a day to herself in such a long time and missed spending some quality time by herself. She had been doing missions non-stop in both villages and today would be her self-proclaimed 'day-off', she supposed.

The Hyuugan walked into the jungle cautiously, always alert for any wild animal disruptions. These parts were always a little unsettling for her. Perhaps it was the thought of having to kill animals because they attack innocent humans which unsettled her the most. Her alert raised, she would subconsciously grab the hilt of her katana as she continued down the path. Her black dress hugging tightly against her body, she was wearing matching boots and a silk sash around her waist, holding her two katanas. Her long green hair tied back with a red ribbon that matched her sash. Her attire was nothing like that of a shinobi. As she walked, memories of her time with her friends flooded her mind. She was missing Jayy and Karite, she realized.

    Spoiler:

    Name: Mox
    Gender: Male
    Village: Ex-Moon
    Rank: S-Rank
    Title: Rogue

The wind would blow through the afternoon air, coursing through the jungle, listing up branches and moving the sweet aroma of jungle flowers and flora with it. It was a sunny afternoon, but the jungle canopy provided a dense enough overhang to shade the forest floor, making it rather comfortable to walk through. It was not a very popular place to trek as the path was old and worn, people getting easily lost if they did not already know where they were going. Plus, this part was well known for wild and dangerous animals that would often attack randomly without being provoked. Today was rather unique, as no sounds of storming bears or rushing boars could be heard, but that did not mean the jungle was void of dangerous creatures, as one black robbed individual slowly strode his way through the thicket.

This man wore a large flowing black cloak that covered his entire body, with the most notable feature being the grey horned mask he wore. The mask covered his entire face and wore an expressionless gaze, looking cold and dead. His arms and legs were adorned with steel armor of some kind, the pieces clanking as he stepped, sunlight glinting from the steel. His stride was slow and rhythmic, but his body seemed to move without cause, like a gust of wind or a shadow slowly moving across the ground. Although he looked calm and collected, anyone who managed to get close to him would here the low murmuring of a man speaking to himself. The words would be jumbled, random, incoherent, and would often involve violent or vulgar speech.

The man continued to walk, slowly pushing through the jungle until suddenly he caught something, the scent of a woman on the wind. He would abruptly stop walking, taking in a deep breath from beneath his mask, before wheeling around on his steel heels and advancing forward in the direction of the scent. It did not take him long as both the cloaked man and the green haired woman were walking directly towards each other. She would hear him coming before they saw each other no doubt, but eventually his dark silhouette would break through the foliage about 10 meters directly in front of her. Stopping instantly the man would pause, no sound coming from him save for an odd rhythmic flow of breath clashing against the inside of his mask. He would wait a moment as the woman would surely be startled by his arrival, suddenly taking another deep breath as the wind caught her scent once more.

It would be a creepy eerie moment with the two standing there looking at each other. His arms would stay motionless at his side, the cloak slowly rising and falling as he took in air, his unseen eyes staring holes into the woman. The air would fall silent as the two stood motionless for what seemed a lifetime, until finally his shrill raspy voice would break the calm. “Sacrifice”

If it wasn't the grey horned mask that caught her attention, it was definitely the demeanor of the man that she would find herself faced with as her footsteps halted. Her lavender white eyes were robbed of their freedom to look at anything else but the stranger, the expression on her face displaying both uncertainty and an unknown terror. Every passing second Ami spent staring at the man, she felt compelled by some force that ripped through her veins. She couldn't move, her gaze held by what she supposed were his eyes behind the mask. As she took in a deep breath to compose herself, she would study the stranger. His attire, his mask, his breathing that was perhaps the only thing audible to her and lastly his voice screamed danger. But the green haired girl wasn't one to back down in terror, nor was she would allow herself to be intimidated this easily.

“Sacrifice” was the only word uttered from the man as they stood motionless. His voice was raspy and somewhat daunting. Ami would subconsciously put her hand gently on the hilt of one of the two katana she carried with, an almost automatic gesture now, having faced threats and sudden situations many times now in her shinobi life. She recognized danger when she saw it, or in this case felt it, and her facial expression would change a little at this moment. The uncertainty and terror from before was replaced with an expressionless look. Her gaze was cold and calculating, though her heart raced. She was not about to openly admit that she was somewhat terrified of this man, not only because it contradicted the principles and teachings of her clan, but also as a kunoichi for her village. Ami didn't say a word, words unnecessary at this point she felt. There was intention for this encounter she supposed, or perhaps she had just been the unlucky one, being at the wrong time at the wrong place.

    Whichever it was...she was prepared.

The wind blew her green strands away from her face as she stood. The girl wasn't going to attack him unless he would first. It was her way of respecting her opponents, giving them the chance for the first attack, she supposed. Her hand clasped a little tighter on the hilt of her blade, ready to draw it in an instant should it be necessary. The minutes ticked by and the eerie feeling only increased exponentially. Her stance didn't falter or waver even for a second while she waited. In her mind she was thinking of what she would do if he did attack, and secretly wanted to see what he was capable of. His appearance spoke to her one way but it would be his skill that ultimately spoke for itself. Her heart would palpitate against her chest, the sound of her own thundering heartbeat enough to deafen her. The intrigue, suspense, terror, excitement, tension were enough to kill a person.

He cared not for her reaction or what this woman would do to protect herself. None of it mattered. As he had seen with many people before her, she had instinctually gone for her weapon, resting a hand on the hilt of her blade, as if that would do anything. Although she would be unable to see it, Mox had a very devilish smile spread across his crooked face, his eyes glaring at the woman from behind his mask. He did not expect to find such a beautiful and worthy sacrifice today, Lord Jashin would be more than pleased with him. He would not wait for her to react or run away, and instead would slowly move his hands together, steel fingers lacing in between each other, forming intricate hand signs.

After his quick string of seals Mox would raise both of his arms upwards, the black sleeves of his cloak sliding down to reveal that his entire forearm was covered in this steel armor. He would hold out both of his hands, palms open and facing the woman. On his palms would be a red circle painted onto the steel, with a red triangle placed in the center of this circle. He would raise his arms up towards the sky in a holier than though fashion, making sure to keep the red symbols on his palms pointed at the woman the entire time. These symbols would be familiar to anyone who had worked around the village, as they were the exact same symbol painted at various crime scenes around the moon village.

If at any time the green haired woman would look upon the red symbols painted onto his palms, she would instantly be placed into a genjutsu. It was a simple genjutsu that was subtle, she would not even know that she was in one for a second. After his hands reached their peak, he would instantly drive both palms together, clapping his hands and allowing a ring to echo out as the steel collided with steel. Mox would then pull his hands apart slowly, a red metal rod appearing between his hands, as if it was being pulled out of the symbols on his palms. He would pull the rod out totally, revealing a 3-foot-long red pole with sharpened ends.

The genjutsu, if Ami were affected, would have already begun, as 10 clones of the robbed man would begin to emerge from the jungle on either side of the duo. They were illusions of course, but this woman had no way of knowing that. The illusions would slowly step out of the foliage, making it seem like she was getting surrounded. Each image of the man would also have a red rod in its hands, each rod held in a way that would make her think they were trying to stab her. The real Mox in front of her would move the rod downwards and slowly walk towards her, making sure to mimic the movements of the illusions now circling in around her.

Genjutsu...something that she was not quite familiar with. She had focused all her attention on other specialties as a shinobi that she had admittedly knew very little about the scope and abilities of genjutu, only that it gives off an illusion. And so it was not surprising that not only would she be caught in Mox's genjutsu, she would be completely immersed in it. The young woman's lavender white eyes would travel to his arms, as he raised them upward, taking in the steel armor that covered his forearm. He was getting more and more interesting the more she 'interacted' with him. But there would be no time to appreciate nor study what her eyes were seeing as his palms would point towards her. Ami was not sure what he was trying to do, but her stance would take the Gentle Fist Style, expecting physical combat. Little did she know that she would be deadly wrong.

The red symbols on his palms were captivating, her eyes not being able to lift themselves from them. It was hypnotic, perhaps because of the genjutsu that she couldn't see. But whatever force it was, the young woman simply was mesmerized by the symbols. She would find a moment later just the reason why as clones of the man began to appear around her. Of course she wouldn't know that this was all an illusion, her pupils taking in the attacks that were supposedly coming at her. It was scary to think what an illusion could do to a person caught unaware. The young woman would hold a tighter grip on the hilt of her blade, although it would remain sheathed, her eyes still resting on Mox. It was as though time stopped for her for just a moment as she tried to process what her eyes were outlining for her. And those few seconds would of course cost her. Had she activated her Byakugan and just looked around her, perhaps she would have been able to see something amiss....

The red rods on each of the clone's hands mixed with the one in Mox's hand began to cloud her vision. In a moment she would finally be able to tear her eyes off of his palm and turn her attention to her supposed enemies. They all looked like they were ready to attack her. Ten...eleven against one? For a moment her face showed the panic that any person would show under such a disadvantage, her feet traveling backwards on impulse. In her mind she was wondering what to do, how she would try to take on them all by herself. She shook her head a little as though to clear her mind forcefully, to no effect, her chakra concentrating in her body. She only knew of one counter, something that she was used to relying on in any situation. She would begin to spin around, her palms outstretched. With a small amount of chakra burst, she would attempt to deflect any of the supposed attacks that were coming her way, all the while unsure how the fight would unfold. It was a concerning feeling, to battle the unknown but she had no choice but to give it her all now.

Mox would fully reveal the red rod, the object now being pulled completely free from his palms, a wicked smile spreading across his hidden face. He watched this woman as she took her stance, preparing to fend off her enemy the best way she knew how, unfortunately for her it would all be in vain. The ten clones would continue to close in, all of them raising the red rods as if to bring them down on the woman. That was when she decided to retaliate, her palms outstretched as the Moon Shinobi began to spin, releasing chakra from her fingertips and creating a protective dome around her person. It was a powerful technique, one meant to fend off multiple attackers from all sides.

The images kept moving though, as they were simply illusions and had no real form to them, the rotating wall of chakra would not phase them in anyway. The images of Mox would push through the dome, walking through it has if it was not even there, emerging from outside, now standing on the inside of the rotation with Ami. As she slowed down and completed the rotation her vision would suddenly be filled with the sight of ten black robbed men stabbing her over and over again with the red spears. Of course the spears would deal no damage and would simply pass through the woman, but the initial fright of them attacker her would still be real.

The true attack would come unseen, masked by the illusions assaulting the woman. Mox would slowly sink into the ground where he was standing, melding with the earth and becoming one with the ground beneath her feet. As the images crowded around her, he would move through the earth like it was water, positioning himself beneath her and the ten images. He would wait for a second, biding his time for the perfect strike. He needed her to be good and scared before he could start the ritual.

Being stabbed was not something that she was not used to, and being pierced was not the real fear for her. She was a masochist by nature, believing that pain to oneself was a way of escapism. But her true fear came when she stopped her palm rotation only to find ten or so men in front of her eyes, ready to stab her. Ami couldn't fully recover from the shock, lost in the illusion of Mox's genjutus. Of course, having not had any prior experience to genjutsu techniques meant that she was more than vulnerable to all of its effect. Her eyes closed slowly, expecting to be pierced to death by the men. It was the longest moments of her life, or so it seemed, as she stood, completely oblivious and playing into her opponent's trap. Her muscles tensed, expecting the pain to take her last living breath.

    And then...it didn't come...

She opened her eyes slowly, confused. Because she had been gripped with sudden surprise, she had not had time to properly react, defend or counter, what she would have normally done in situations like these. But the fact that she had not been killed by now puzzled her greatly. Taking a second to get her bearings back. she took a deep breath. "Byakugan..." she hissed under her breath, her vision changing to reflect that of her kekkei gekkai. The colours of the world all but disappeared into a mixture of black and grey. The girl would see that there were no chakra systems, which could only mean that what she had seen were not real people. But then...where was Mox? By the time she came to her senses so top speak, she had lost sight of Mox, who had been standing in front of her for quite some time beforehand.

    Where did he go?

It didn't sit well with her at all that she had been so affected by his genjutsu. Even worse, he would have the upper hand over her, and it would be difficult for her to change the tides unless she moved with extreme caution from that moment on. For now though, all she could do was wait for him to appear again, wherever he was, and she would be forced to take a defensive stance until then. The girl would close her eyes again, this time waiting calmly, her ears trying to pick up sounds of where he may be. Ami realized that against her opponent, it was probably best she wouldn't use her sense of sight, glad that she had activated her Byakugan to counter his genjutsu. A true learning experience this fight would be for the Hyuuga..,and she was willing to pay whatever price she had for the knowledge.
