Usually a bunch of missions that Sojiro was assigned had sent him to all different parts of the continent, mostly traveling back and forth between the two villages and leading an array of missions. So, when he had received that the mission he had taken was not only near home but he was going to be able to do it alone, there was a little bit of repreive in that. It wasn't like he had something against working with other people but when it came down to it, even he needed a break from people but there was someone that had been getting neglected recently that he brought on this mission with him. As he walked across the dry desert of The Waste, he was accompanied by a giant snow-white bunny, a creature that would put to shame even large dogs. The creature had a pair of giant wings on its back, it's tail long and ending a soft floof of fur; black markings along the tips of his ears and tail. Despite all of the traveling that he had been doing, he hadn't brought his companion with him on a lot of missions. The main reason is that the white rabbit had been going through some unseemly growing pains and mood swings, mostly from getting older. And the other small factor being the special kibble that Sojiro had been feeding him, which helped with his increase in size. The bunny's small claws were now sharp and noticeable, and its large black eyes watched people carefully and closely. Of course, Sojiro was not bothered by the way that his companion would act, since he was a man that was part beast himself. Plus, Auggie was his friend! There was no way that this would change things between them. The black-haired man would roll his shoulders as they walked, pondering on their missions as they did.
Right, the mission. His attention towards from Auggie to a small, obviously noticeable storehouse that was in the middle of a wide open area. What the hell kind of place was this? Sojiro had been tasked with taking care of the warehouse to stop an incoming raid but that... Well, he wasn't really surprised that the bandits had really found the place, he would have to ask someone about this when he got back to the village. It was like they weren't even trying to keep this place hidden! There wasn't any rocks nearby, the area wasn't known for sandstorms, so had they just decided to put this building here for fun? Or was this some kind of hazing thing? It was possible that they put people here they wanted to test or even just annoy, because of how terrible of a base that this was. As Sojiro approached the shed, he would let out a disappointed breath while taking in all of the details. There really wasn't anything but a single window and a door; the building being a single room. As he took a look inside, he would take note the details around and the few boxes that were laying around. Was this really worth putting someone out here? It didn't really make any damned sense to him, there was barely any supplies here! Sojiro would see a single chair inside of the building and pull it outside, leaning it against the front of the building before taking a seat. This job was going to suck regardless of what happened but he wasn't going to sit inside, no matter how hot it was. A lot of people complained about the heat of the desert but Sojiro had grown up in it, so it felt normal to him. If anything, there really was nothing like basking in the sun and just soaking in the warmth. If you could throw a cool breeze on top of it... Mmm, it could hit just right.
Of course, his mind was starting to wander and he was brought back into reality as Auggie would come to sit next to him, pressing his cold fur up against him. The man would shudder a bit, playfully chastising the bunny before giving him some attention and pets. As he was doing this, there came a grumble from the both of them and he gave a small laugh. The two of them hadn't really eaten yet but they had brought something along with them, a gift from a wonderful old lady that worked in the village. Mrs. Nash was the owner of 'Pasteries with Pa-Nash!' and Sojiro had stumbled onto the most wonderful meal by accident. The man had been taksed with making sure that some of the forces scattered around the desert had gotten their supply run of food... But they didn't just want any food, they had specially requested Mrs. Nash Scorpion Casserole. But when he had arrived at the mission to collect the food, it turned out that the old woman had run out of stingers for the food and therefore, Sojiro had decided to help the old woman in her endevours. As a reward for going the extra mile to help her, the woman had made sure to cook Sojiro his own meal and man... It had made fighting the scorpions worth it, more than worth it, actually! After delivering the food to the people who needed it, he had a chance to finally sit down and eat his own meal and that was when he experienced heaven in the form of a food. And so, that was what he had brought for them to eat together, slowly removing the bag that he was carrying on his shoulder by a strap. It was an easy feature to slide four large containers of food out with his hand, laying them down on his lap as he laid the bag on the ground, then laying the containers on top of that.
The rabbit made happy chirping noises as Sojiro would turn to the food and grab two trays, lifting them with ease and putting them on the other side of where he was sitting. This left the food directly in front of Augustus, where the bunny looked as though he had just licked his lips from the idea of eating the meal. Sojiro's fingers would dance along the sides of the containers in front of Auggie until the lids were both off, the food placed side by side so that the rabbit could eat without any problems. After the lids were off, he didn't really waste much time before he was pushing Sojiro's hands out of his way with his head. This caused the man to laugh but, honestly, he couldn't wait to dig into the food himself. Sojiro would move to grab one of the two remaining containers and would easily remove the lid, grabbing a pair of utensils from inside his shinobi pouch. The smells that escaped into the air and filled his highly sensitive nose caused him to take a deep breath, inhaling the essence of the food the best that he could, almost causing his mouth to water in the process. With a pleased grin, he would move his fork and knife down to the casserole and begin to cut into the first piece. The way that the cheese would come out the sides, the noodles not putting up any resistance and the meat... Oh, the meat! It was wonderful, no tougher to cut through than the noodles. As he brought the piece of food to his mouth and would take a long, succulent bite, he would shudder. The combination of flavors in his mouth made it feel as though... As though his clothes could just explode off of his body! Man, what a good meal...
With that thought, he'd continue his meal and finish his mission without any problems... What did happen to those bandits?
