Sojiro did his best to keep Genkumaru upright as they moved through the streets, he had been distracted so when there was suddenly the sound of footsteps coming closer, Sojiro would actually tense up. As Kannagi had come around them, she'd actually see Sojiro reaching beneath his cloak, as if preparing to draw a weapon. There was a certain feral look hidden in Sojiro's eyes, despite the calmness of his actions and the tone of his voice, "Kannagi..." It was then that Genkumaru had started to speak, Sojiro listening intently before he would whisper to his friend, "Shh... Rest, Gen. Save your strength." And, without a single hesitation, he would motion for Kannagi to get closer with a jerk of his head. Assuming she would get closer, he would move to switch places with her, allowing her to take the brunt of Gen's weight for a couple of moments, "Don't drop him." Was all he would say to the woman, though it was just a statement that left his lips robotically, he wasn't doubting her strength.
Assuming she listened, Sojiro would move to the other side of Genkumaru and move his limp arm. The gesture would cause the wound in his shoulder to start bleeding a bit more but Sojiro didn't care, sliding underneath the arm and supporting him fully. The feeling of his warm blood didn't take long to start soaking through Sojiro's cloak and onto his clothing. But, in this position and Kannagi's help, it was easier for them to move down the street and allow Sojiro to apply proper healing to the wound. He wasn't going to be able to heal the wound fully like this but he was causing it to scab over, at least. It was difficult, he was fighting against Gen's failing body and the rain, which would weak the new tissue he was trying to create. But he didn't stop as they walked, guiding him and Kannagi down the road and towards a building. On the window on the front of the building read the words 'Inukura Apothecary'.
Sojiro would go to the front door and take his hand away from the wound, attempting to reach into his pocket to grab a set of keys. There was a moment of struggle before the sound of them falling into a puddle beneath them caused Sojiro to let out a bestial growl, "Fuck this." And with that, he'd shift his weight onto his right foot to support himself before throwing his left leg forward. The door of the clinic would explode open, the top hinges tearing off completely as the door folded into the inside of the building. What was exposed to them was a waiting room for a normal clinic, chairs and a desk, magazines and the whole nine, "You're fixing that door after I save your life." Sojiro spoke to Genkumaru as him and Kannagi would move towards the door leading to the backrooms.
They'd be in a hallway with various doors but Sojiro would lead them down the hall past all, taking them to a set of large double doors at the end of the room. The trio would enter into a room that was pure white, filled with various cabinets and tools. It was clear that this room was meant for surgeries, a large table in the center of the room, "Get him up there. I'm going to need your help Kannagi, follow my instructions to a tee." As he said that, his eyes cut over to her with a type of judgment but he didn't elaborate on it, instead he would get to work. Sojiro would tear off his jack, blood covering his neck, shoulder, and a part of his chest. He wasted no time preparing the room for surgery, barking out orders to Kannagin the stern, reasonable voice of a trained doctor. The first thing he had done was cleaned his hands, making her do the same afterward, before getting ready some disinfectant on the side for the utensils of life-saving.
What followed maybe some of the most intense and stressful hours of Sojiro's life, maybe Kannagi's as well. For all intents and purposes, Sojiro would treat Kannagi like a nurse throughout the process. The first thing that had to be handled was the fact that Genkumaru's shoulder was missing a large chunk of it, it didn't matter if he could fix the rest of him if he bled out beforehand. Sojiro would prepare several IVs to start running into the man's arm, getting a few bags from a refrigerating unit that seemed to be blood or plasma. Luckily for Genkumaru, one of the IVs would keep him under during the procedure. Obviously the man would put the needles in the arm that was intact, taking moment to steady himself before he started. The process of healing his shoulder was terrible, consisting of performing several stitches and pulling his skin together while it was tearing to tear itself apart. Sojiro would command Kannagi to force the wound closer together, his left hand summoning chakra into it as he'd start to repair the wound... His right hand had a staple gun in it, clearly meant for surgeries, and he'd bring it down onto the arm, forcing it closer. The missing muscle and tendons in the arm are what Sojiro was trying to repair, forcing the wound closer together so that the healing could actually begin to repair him. As the process went on, he'd instruct Kannagi to release tension a bit over time, and before her eyes, Sojiro would begin reconstructing the damaged limb.
By the end of the first procedure, Genkumaru's shoulder had a few staples in it and a fresh scar but the damage was gone. The next thing would be the large split on the man's head, which was actually much simpler to fix than assumed. He cleaned the wound with quick skill before placing both his hands over the wound and beginning to heal it, being careful with the process. As he did, he'd give the Irezumi woman a few more commands and have her start preparing near tools. They were going to need to find out what was wrong with the man. Sojiro would tell her how to perform a few basic feeling tests to see what damage was done. Just from what she had explained, he could tell that Gen's ribs were fractured and that somewhere inside, he was bleeding. That wasn't good, that would explain why his breathing was only getting more shallow even as he healed the other wounds. The man bit his lip roughly, he only hoped he hadn't done things out of order.
After the wound on his head was healed, Sojiro moved to the area where he had Kannagi prepare and had her help roll Gen onto his side. Once he was there, he would feel around on his back a bit, grabbing a thick needle and driving it into the man's back, pulling back on the syringed attached. The large needle would fill with blood that was building up inside of the man's lower abdomen. He would do this a few more times, emptying the blood into a bucket. There were so many procedures he had skipped over in his rush, he could lose his license if someone had saw the state of his clinic! Not that he was worried about it, he just couldn't help but think that one mistake and it could cost him Gen's life. No, thoughts like that didn't last for more than a moment before he was back and concentrated.
Sojiro would roll the man onto his back, leaving the wound open so that the blood now had a place to drain instead of inside of his body. Sojiro would then move to heal Genkumaru's ribs, the easiest thing he had to do so far, instructing Kannagi to get several scalpels ready. With Gen's breathing hopefully getting better and his ribs in place, things should start to look better for the man but if the internal bleeding wasn't solved, it would be a short-lived reprieve. Next, despite how surprising it may seem, Sojiro would actually cut several incisions into Gen's abdomen and then open him up to his organs. One of his lungs had partially collapsed from the blood, a tear along one of his intestines being the source of the bleeding. He would use a combination of sewing the wound close and using chakra to heal it closed to stop the bleeding, followed by repairing the condition of his lung. After draining the rest of the blood out, he'd close his stomach back up, and then heal the small hole on his back...
And with that, it was over. Without even noticing it, daybreak had joined them in the world and the storm had passed over. By the end of it, Sojiro was covered in blood up to his forearms, smears of blood across his forehead. The man's usually tanned skin was a much paler color, he could feel that his chakra was nearly gone and he felt like he'd just had the fight of his life. His muscles were sore, his body was tight, and he didn't realize how tense he was until it was over. The man would keep a few IVs in Genkumaru but he'd take out the anesthesia, "I give him about five minutes before he wakes up, at most." He'd comment to Kannagi and, while Genkumaru was asleep, he'd walk over to her. He wasn't great at words or anything but he'd move to embrace her in a hug. It was a deep embrace, perhaps more intimate than he had met, but that was all he'd do. He wouldn't comment on it, or even seem embarrassed as he stepped back from her, "You weren't too bad back there.."
The man would pull up two chairs so they could sit next to Genkumaru. The surgery room was a mess, bloody gauze over the room, discarded tools and syringes filled with blood. The rest of the clinic wasn't doing so much better, a thick blood trail leading through the place that ended up the table Gen was on, "Man... And I was going to open up shop tomorrow... Er, today." He would let out a soft laugh, sincere and boisterous, clearly not worried with the concept of needing to wait another day or so to open up. He would sit down, exhausted and look over at Kannagi, "Tell me, are you looking for work? I've been looking for a nurse or two to help me out around here."
When Genkumaru would wake up, it would be a completely different feeling than when he was last conscious. The pain that had taken over his body was gone, at worst it would be a little bit sore. His shoulder would be a bit uncomfortable, perhaps tense, but it wouldn't last more than a day or so.
