It was just an average afternoon in the moonlit grove, a warm summer day out on lake Biwan. The sky was a soft baby blue, gentle puffs of clouds hovering over head, it made for the perfect day. Captors bay, a large stone tower, jutted up from a tiny island in the middle of lake Biwan. This was the home to several criminals, rogue ninja, deadly murders, and crazy psychopaths, all locked up in the massive stone prison. The island that held the structure was normally a quiet place, with several guards patrolling the structure and the island that held it. In addition to being a massive structure, it was a well guarded and enforced location, as Gekkousato went out of its way to ensure those imprisoned here stayed here. Most days went by pretty calmly, with almost no incidents, as those who worked this location were pretty good at what they did. A hand full of shinobi patrolled the upper concourse, while other groups patrolled the beach below. Everything had gone like it did every other day, the morning was routine, the afternoon went by smoothly, and all shifts were preparing for the early evening. Today would not be like most days though, as it was about to change drastically.
It happened so suddenly and without any warning. With an ear shattering blast, an explosion had suddenly gone off in the upper quadrant of the prison. Thick stone and rubble blasted out from the prison, being launched out onto the beach head and into the lake below. Smoke began to fill the air as bells and alarms could be heard going off all over the island, all of the grounds reacting instantly to the situation. What happened next was only thought of in worst case scenarios and nightmares. Humanoid figures began to spill out from the massive hole in the wall, breaking through the dark smoke and scattering like roaches in the night. These figures were criminals, law breakers who once called Captors Bay home, and they were now spilling out onto the island. Shinobi and prison guards alike rushed to locate and track down as many as they could within moments of the incident happening. They had practiced this scenario several times, and were quick on the draw to respond. Things were about to get worse though.
BOOM! A second explosion went off on the opposite side of the building, lower to the ground this time, as a second gaping hole appeared in the side of the stone structure, more smoke and rubble spewing out onto the beach. And like the first hole, this one also was the scene of several prisoners attempting to escape. Using the first blast as a distraction, these prisoners instantly took off in the opposite direction, moving across the beach, then out onto the open lake, moving as quickly as they could towards the jungle. A few of the on guard shinobi were quick enough to react, moving from one side of the building to the other, apprehending the first few they could get their hands on. It was not enough though, and the criminals plan to escape had proven successful for a select few who were know sprinting across the lake, and into the thick jungle around it.
One of these lucky escapees was Mila Essian, a former Sun village shinobi who had been locked up here for an attempt on the village. Classified as a mental patient with a case of violent tendencies and a habit for lashing out, she was considered a highly dangerous target. And now, she was moving through the dense jungle as quickly as she could. The woman did not have on much, a black tank top and orange prisoners pants made up her outfit. Her short black and orange bob hair cut bouncing in the afternoon air as she speed through the brush. She had been locked up for years, and was not going to pass up this opportunity to finally escape. The shinobi who guarded the prison would surely be right behind her, so she was going to steal as much time as she could while they rounded up the others back on the island. What she did not realize was another group of shinobi were already on their way towards the prison for an afternoon mission. Their paths would soon cross as the team of three was headed right for the woman.
