Hair Color | Blonde [Occasionally dyes it Black]
Eye Color | Green
Height | 172 cm
Weight | 53 kg
Appearance | Suwon is, above all, extremely feminine. If he actually put on some clothing to cover his torso, he could easily pass for a young girl. He's had to live with that his whole life however, and now he's tired of being forced into such restricting habits.

He has a small and delicately rounded face. His eyes are dark green, framed by long lashes, and always in a droopy sort of fashion. His nose is small and his lips plump and have a dark but natural pink shade to them. Due to relatively bad eyesight, he wears a pair of small round glasses at all times, and makes sure not to go anywhere without them. For the majority of his life, his hair used to be kept long, showcasing his natural golden curls, but nowadays he cuts it shorter, ending just below his nape on the back. He has both his ears pierced, though he doesn't always wear earrings.

His pale complexion, despite the amount of skin he usually likes to expose on a daily basis, is due to his whole childhood and teenage years being indirectly hidden from the sun, and confined in rooms/houses. His body in general is very weak-looking and a bit underdeveloped. He's thin from all angles and in all places, with little muscle on him. He has more curves than edges and squares like other guys his age.

Suwon doesn't like the feel of fabric on his skin. If he could go naked, if he could. But he can't, so he goes for the alternative. His whole wardrobe consists of the shortest pieces he can get his hands on, and lacks on shirts. Being an antique lover, he makes a small sacrifice to wear the intricately designed collar and sleeves of an old suit he stumbled upon in his travels. Both pieces mix design with hidden compartments -originally for weapons, but Suwon uses them to store other small things too- in accents of black, white and gold. He wears them all the time and keeps everything he deems important in them.
Favorable | Antiques - Butterflies - Black Eyes - Exotic Tea Flavors
Unfavorable | Tight clothing - Greed - Being locked up/Restrained - Large Weapons
Personality | Having only recently been released from a life in which he wasn't supposed to have a certain personality type, Suwon is still figuring out himself. He loves learning new things and observing other people and their mannerisms. A natural observer, he mostly stays neutral when it comes to disputes and such, or even sometimes tries to break them up, without taking anyone's side. He won't get involved if he doesn't feel like getting involved, and that goes for things other than fights too.

He'll approach anyone who catches his eye, but will completely ignore anyone who doesn't. It is not rare for him to forget names and faces, no matter how much time he might spend with them. If someone fails to interest him in any way, Suwon unintentionally erases them from his mind. He's a very good listener, though he does not give advice, simply because he thinks he's not experienced enough to do so. He will stay silent, listen, nod, and afterwards will lock away secrets people tell him and guard them better than expected of him.

Other than picking at his looks, he doesn't give anything for people to grab onto challenge him. He tried his best to avoid conflict. When he can't avoid though, he's not one to fight back much. He has little dignity and will surrender to whatever demand, unless it involves him losing his freedom, or something of that sort.

Although he might seem compassionate and all, he actually isn't the type to care about others more than himself. He's selfish in a way, but also doesn't understand what being selfish means. In his eyes, one's well-being should be the most important thing for them. He applies said mindset on himself, and assumes everyone else does the same too. Sacrificing one's self for others is something completely alien to him, since nobody has presented him with this idea, and even if they did he would be utterly baffled by it.

Philosophy & Beliefs | Suwon is a go-where-the-wind-takes-you sort of guy. He lives to live, with not much ambition, but a great passion to stay alive. He believes life is beautiful with both its bad and its good parts and it cannot be enjoyable without one of the two, regardless of which. Gut feeling is very important to him when it comes to making decisions, and thus he does not discriminate between "good" and "bad" people.

Village | Lightning [Current], Flame [Past]
History & Background | Although slavery was no longer a justified term in the Flame village by the time Suwon was born, there were still slaves. They were called servants now by those of defiled wealth, hushed with little coin and a mattress to sleep on. They were the people who could not find a dignified job right after the abolition of slavery, and thus fell into the claws of manipulation. Suwon's parents were these kind of "servants" to a man with a wife, and mistress, and no children to take over his wealth.

They lived in the cellar of his estate, along with five others. They were worked to the bone, fed and kept inside the confinement of the residence, hidden away from the public eye. Suwon, named Juunichirou at the time and nicknamed Chou (Butterfly) by everyone in the house, was in fact an accident. He was a child not meant to be born, but nevertheless born, and with unique characteristics too. His looks, mostly inherited by his now withered mother, were a ray of light among his peers, and were also the reason he was not disposed off early in life.

After laying eyes on him, the owner of the house decided he didn't mind having to raise a child so pretty. Suwon's parents did not have a say in the matter when their child was taken away from them and locked inside a spacious room full of other pretty things. For the majority of his childhood, he was but an accessory, like all the other things surrounding him. He was given toys so detailed he was not allowed to even tough them, and wore clothes rich ladies would be jealous of. And as his hair grew longer, the owner's love for him grew stronger. It was a twisted sort of emotion, but Suwon could not distinguish right from wrong, and thus he could not do anything but live and do as he was told.

At age eight, he was brought out of his spacious room into the world, and introduced as the owner's daughter. They put him in dresses and painted his lips, combed his hair and taught him how to act out his role. He was not allowed to speak to anyone but his "father". All he was told to do was smile and nod. It wasn't a hard life, and he did not know any other kind of life to compare it to, so again, he just went with it like he always had done.

After five years being the daughter of a wealthy merchant, people's eyes shifted from him to his apparent father, and eventually the old man's sins were brought to light. He was apprehended, his wealth taken away, and his servants released from their servitude. Suwon's parents wanted nothing to do with him; they barely even knew him.

He was left to wander around in his pretty little dress and long golden hair for a period of time. Some tried to rob him, others tried cruder things, all ended up disappointed for he had nothing to offer. It wasn't long before he was found and taken in by someone whose heart was cleaner than most. A poor little antique dealer who barely had what he needed to get by, but could not leave a child wandering around all alone.

At first Suwon was confused. The man kept asking him so many questions and didn't even flinch when Suwon actually replied. Suddenly he was allowed to speak and act out, with no punishment following. He was asked for his name, and when he said he was called Butterfly, the older man laughed innocently and gave him a new name; Suwon. The uncomfortably tight dress was taken away from him and replaced with much simpler clothes. A pair of pants and a loose shirt. The fabric felt weird, and Suwon kept feeling like it would fall off. When it did, he discovered he didn't mind it not being there at all. His caretaker scolded him whenever he'd lose a piece of clothing, but it wasn't the sort of scolding he was used to. This one felt different. It didn't scare him, it made him feel guilty more than anything.

Over the course of the next three years, Suwon lived with the dealer and learnt all sorts of new things, from reading and writing, to distinguishing between fake and real gemstones. A love for old things grew in him, and he enjoyed finding them and restoring them to their original glory. He was making something for once in his life and the joy he got from it was like nothing he'd experienced before.

Sadly, a mere cold took his beloved caretaker and teacher away, and Suwon packed up what was left of the little store and left his city behind. He traveled around, getting by with whatever he managed to sell from his wares. He met interesting people and found interesting things, but he could only take them later with him. Upon reaching Raiburijji, fascinated by the crowd of merchants setting up stalls on the bridge, he settled down, taking over an abandoned little shop at one edge of the bridge and repurposing it into an antiques shop with a small tea room on the side, and a concealed back-room for him to sleep in.
